19th Century marquetry Box With Bone Keyhole
A sweet 19th century antique box. Heart shape key hole in bone, or something similar. It measures 8 inches across. 6 inches deep, and 3 3/4 inches tall. The locking mechanism seems intact if you can find a key for it. The bottom appears like it had bun feet at one time. Inside lined with old turquoise paper and has a gilt trim Mirror. Superb Antique William Morris Arts & Crafts Movement Inspired Marquetry Tray
Here on offer is a delightful William Morris inspired marquetry drinks tray. This gorgeous tray is rectangular in shape with steep walls and chamfered corners. The walls and handles are all made from the same coloured wood. The base of tray has an outer frame of two different woods with a thin inner frame of a very narrow line of a dark wood. The center has a stunning inlaid design that is clearly inspired by William Morris designs. That has also been incised with the fine detail. The tray is offered in good antique condition. American Empire Style Miniature Cedar Chest Document Box Inlaid Marquetry "F.M"
Offered is a nice. ANTIQUE, American Empire Style, Cedar Document Box. Found and probably made locally here in Berks County at the tail end of the Empire Design Period in the 1890's. The top and all side panels including the back have an inlaid framework of lighter wood(probably Birch or Maple) the top has the initials"FM" inlaid inside of a rectangle. Curved front Balusters and partially scrolled feet are key design elements of the period. The lid measures 7" x 13" the box measures 6 1/4" x 12" x 4" deep. Overall height is 6 3/8" The back edge of the lid has 2 old, glued repairs, there is remains of old paper on the inside of the lid and one hinge screw is replaced with a phillips head which I will correct before shipping. I do not have a key that fits and works, went through all of my small spare ... morekeys and didn't get a match. Antique Handmade Marquetry Inlaid Folk Art Masonic Serving Tray No Reserve!
This auction is for a beautiful and unique folk art marquetry inlaid serving tray decorated with Masonic symbols. This tray is about 11" by 16" and is in excellent condition. There are some light scuffs to the edge of the tray. And very light wear from handling, but other than that this antique tray is in near mint condition. The tray is decorated with intricate marquetry woodworking, including a trowel, mallet, and the square and crescent. There are two rows of thin marquetry around the edges of the tray, and the face of the tray is under glass. I believe this tray dates from the 1920's to 1930's, and it comes from a large New England collection. Offered here this outstanding dresser top shaving stand. Beautiful marquetry throughout featuring a lions head. Bird, exceptional scrollwork and florals. circa mid to late 1800s. There is tight age crack on the top(see pic) and some small veneer losses to front columns and a couple of tiny spots elsewhere(see pics) Nice dark patina throughtout this piece on it's original finish. Beautiful mahogany case with fruitwood inlay that is really over the top done by very skilled craftsman. Edwardian 8 day mantle clock by Bell,Leeds with inlaid marquetry mahogany case
Attractive Edwardian 8 day French movement mantel clock with very nice heavy quality case with herringbone marquetry and other inlaid decoration. No key. Feet(probably small brass studs) are missing but clock displays very well as it is. Case is 5 1/2 inches high by 6 1/4 inches wide. The dial has name of A& J Bell. Leeds. The dial appears to be a excellent undamaged condition but the glass and dial clearly need taking apart and cleaning. Complete with original backplate for the movement. In working order(ticking away) but needs a clean. I put the movement into the case(they are all pretty standard) but never got round to finishing the whole project and have now run out of time. Movement is marked FRANCE on back. A good item that will reward a small amount of effort to finish off. Overall diameter of drum holding movement is approx 3 ... more5/8 inches. Satinwood, tulipwood, mahoghany and other rare exotic woods in painstaking inlay. Measures 18 3/8" D x 29 5/8" W x 39 1/2" H. Surface features a basket weave motif with 1”x 1” squares on diagonal. Central medallion contains over 100 insets alone; depicts musical instruments from Renaissance(lute, drum, clarinet, flute and pipes) with ribbon and flowers. Features bronze ormolu: decorative flowers; lock plate and one remaining accent on right front foot. Five drawers(3 outside and 2 inside) sport tiny bronze knobs. Inset pin striping and hand-cut dovetails. Top rolls up to reveal slide-out work surface with original burgundy leather, three ... moredrawers and two cubbyholes. Cabriole legs with tiny feet. Has working lock and key to protect valuables or privacy. Good antique 8 day mahogany mantel clock with superb marquetry inlay detail
Superb original Edwardian Sheraton 8 day mahogany mantel clock with exquisite coloured satinwood scrolled marquetry inlays to front of the well figured grain of the case. Good working order. Comes with a key(not original) There has been some minor damage to front edge of the top and subsequent repair as shown in picture. This is not apparent from the front but would benefit from some further careful minor restoration to the top right corner. It measures 8 1/2x 6 1/2x 3 inches and is a very solid well made clock.

THE BOX IS BRASS AND INLAID WITH SILVER AND A RED COPPER- JUST LIKE OTHERS I SAW IN MY RESEARCH. I KNOW BETTER THAN TO CLEAN THE ENTIRE PIECE AS THIS IS SOMETHING THAT IS UP TO YOUR INDIVIDUAL TASTE. THE INSIDE OF THE BOX IS INLAID WITH WOOD ON THE LID AS WELL AND THERE IS A COLORFUL MARQUERTY DESIGN INLAID AS WELL. THIS IS NOT PAINTED ON.
