4 ANTIQUE LETTERPRESS VINTAGE PRINTER TYPE CASE HAMILTON TRAY DRAWER SHADOW BOX
Up for sale: Lot of 4 1907 Hamilton printers cases. These are some of the older cases on Ebay. We have several from the same unit and the bottom case handle is embossed with the date of 1907. This was back in the day of Teddy Roosevelt. When only 8% of population had phones, few had electricity, and few had cars. Average wage was 22 cents per hour and 95% of births were at home. The type used in these cases were just about the only way to communicate. Quite a different era. If these cases could only talk. We talk for them as they do make a good conversation piece. These cases are now being used for quite a variety of clever uses. All types of collections. Fly fishing flies, ammunition, thimbles, marbles, etc. One fellow we met placed a piece of glass on them and created beautiful coffee tables. Luckily this one survived for 100 years waiting ... morefor someone to put to good use. These cases measures 21-3/4 wide x 16-1/2 inches deep(19-1/2 counting the extensions) and are just over an inch thick. Please see photos for condition. Vtg letterpress printers type set drawer tray lot of 2 shadowbox 33 & 25 slots
This is a very nice set of 2 typeset printers wooden tray or drawer. One has 33 slots and one has 25 slots. These are often used as shadow boxes and filled with trinkets. These do have some minor wear but it is not detracting and they have been used for their original intended purpose. That is what makes them great. The larger of the two measures 17" x 11" and the smaller of the two measures 16.5" x 8.75" They are both in great vintage condition. Any and all questions are welcome. Antique Cabinet Drawer Shadowbox Wall Display of a Vintage Printers Typeset Letterpress tray. Overall dimensions of the drawer measure about 27-5/8" L x 17-3/4" The compartments in this drawer are a couple different sizes- some are about 2-3/8" x 1-1/4" and the others are about 1-1/4" x 1-1/2" all about 13/16" deep. This is a TRUE Antique piece and is old and dusty. No cracks- and still in very good usable condition~ nice for miniature display or jewelry or nick-knack wall display. This piece was probably a drawer at one time but many old time pressmen trade typesetters hung these on the wall. And today this piece is perfect to use for just that! Here are 2 vintage Hamilton Letterpress Trays. Both have 89 compartments. All intact. They each measure 16.5" x 32" The interior of the drawers look really good, with no broken compartments, some dirt. The exteriors show chipping paint and rusty handles but otherwise are tight and good considering age and use. These make great shadow boxes for miniature collectibles.

Up for Sale an Antique HAMILTON Tray Shadowbox Letterpress Wood with Handle Ready to Hang on the Wall. It measures 10.5" x 1.5" x 16 3/4" long- with handle 17.5" The uniqueness of this tray is that previous owner added a transparent lucite plexiglass type of wall along with a hanging chain. The lucite plexiglass wall doesn't function like a door that opens and closes. But works with 1 screw placed on each corner( pic 9) Handle reads"Hamilton" Pic 8 shows details of the added chain. Other then the minor internal chipped corner showed in pic 9 the tray is in good condition. Please view my other Hamilton lot of old alloy and wood letterpress block. Maybe it's still up for sale. Description: This is a beatiful antique letterpress tray. It is full of large. All original antique printer blocks. There are more than 80 letters in this tray. These letters are not cheap to buy. The letters are all quite large. They are all different fonts and some are really quite ornate. The letters are all original antique pieces. The letters are not glued down. They are pressed firmly in place and do not allow for hardly any movement. This is good because it means that they can be rearranged or used for another purpose ... morelater on. If you want the letters glued down please let me know and I will do it a no additional cost. The tray is very nice as well. It has been stripped and waxed to a nice shine. It also has a nice metal handle on it that is original to the tray. The size of the table is approximately: 83cm x 37cm. Condition: The tray and letters have been cleaned. Burnished and then waxed. This is a great antique letter press printing tray. I am not exactly sure of its exact age but it is in very good condition for its age and an awesome piece! It has great patina but does have a few dividers missing but in overall very good condition. There are 52 different compartments! It also has an original brass ruler attached to its front. This is a great Ludlow antique letter press printing tray. I am not exactly sure of its exact age but it is in very good condition for its age and an awesome piece! It has great patina with all of its dividers remaining in tact and in very good condition. There are 98 different compartments! It measures approximately 27 3/4" tall x 17 1/2" wide x 1 1/2" deep. The drawer is all wood even the back when sometimes it is a fiber type wood with no warping and sits flat! There are 89 slots or cubbies of varying sizes. The drawer is embossed with"The Hamilton Mfg Co. Two Rivers Wis" and"New Departure Patented" There are some letters and numbers written on some sections as seen in the pictures. This solid drawer measures about 14" square and about 2" deep. The previous owner attached a piece of burgundy oilcloth to protect the type. This can be pulled off without a problem. The tray is labeled Sans Serif condensed 24 pt. But I cannot verify that all the type is that font and size. This drawer came from printers studio where any other type could have been mixed in with this face and font.
