From a small beginning a Bergen, New Jersey, in 1842, has grown up an industry of immense magnitude and Thomas Kingsford, who first invented a process for the manufacture of starch from maize, or Indian corn, was the founder of this great enterprise. After years of careful experiment in the manufacture of starch Mr. Kingsford built a small factory and established the business under the firm name of T. Kingsford& Son. In this little industry the long-cherished plans of its founder, a chemist of many years experience in the laboratories of William Colgate& Son, were successfully carried out. The new enterprise thrived from the start and for several years business was successfully conducted at Bergen until, on account of better facilities for the manufacture of this world renowned product, Messrs. Kingsford& Son removed to Oswego in 1848. New and suitable buildings were erected and the manufacture of starch was begun under the corporate name of The Oswego Starch Factory. Measures about 24" by 5" and is designed to look like a slat from a crate, complete with fake nail holes. It's stenciled in black, Marijuana, Muscogee, Okla. Net wt. 22.7 kilo. It also has several holes to make it look as if it were hit with buckshot from a shotgun. It's in overall nice shape, and would display nicely. Uncommon drug-culture relic from the early 70s. VINTAGE COCA COLA WOOD CRATE WITH A DOZEN 26 FL OZ GLASS BOTTLES This is a wood crate from 60’s that holds twelve family size glass bottles; each bottle has a capacity of 26 fl oz. The crate is 17 x 12 ¼ x 5 ½ inches. The short pieces of wood are a little bit thicker than the long ones, the base and the dividers are also made out of wood, there are twelve compartments total. The pieces of wood were nailed and have metals bands wrapped around the edges to make it more durable. These metal strips are rusty. The crate has two open handles one on each end to carry it; the advertisement is found all around the crate with red letters on yellow background. The yellow paint and the advertisement have come off. However some it is still readable. Inside there is a mark next to“Coca-Cola” that says: 1960 CHATTANOOGA CASES” Eight of the glass ... morebottles have embossed letters that say: CONTENTS 1 PT. 10 FL. OZS. REG. U.S. PAT.
