Late 19th or possibly early 20th century and is painted in the Vernis Martin ... morestyle, with all frontal cabinet paintings having scrolled bronze framing, The upper portion of the cabinet is a beehive design with eight petite, dove tailed draws in varying sizes. The top single draw is adorned with a putti/cupid, the next four draws, in tandem, have floral motifs and each of the three remaining smaller draws, display miniature paintings of estates. Both sides of the upper cabinet are decorated with a motif of musical instruments, ribbons and a book. The cabinet mid section has a narrow pull out, fall front draw, adorned with floral paintings, over bombe doors, with opposing paintings of a man and women, each seated in a bergere and dressed in traditional french attire. Both lower sides of the cabinets depict scenes of fountains in garden/park. The double doors open up to reveal an interior cabinet with one fixed shelf. The cabinet rests on cabriolet legs with the front two terminating in bronze sabots. Note: The front. Left decorative bronze sabot/ornamentation is not attached. But is in perfect condition and in one of the draws, thus can be easily reattached. The cabinet has a key. But it is not the original. This lovely pair are the perfect mix of decorative beauty and practical functionality to make for a vintage design classic. They look great in any room and they are able to store lots of items. Ostensibly they are bookcases but of course you can use them to hold other items. They look particuarly good with decorative items- statues, vases etc- in them. However, for myself, being the bookish type I have a pair in my home with nothing but lovely, fading works of literature in them. The shelves are adjustable to suit meaty tomes or smaller paperbacks. The shelves work on a slat system so you can adjust them to whatever height you like for whatever you like. From\War and Peace\ to the\World\s Smallest Book of Poetry\ these bookcases are perfect. The open fronts are Sheraton style. Main body is walnut polished to a high sheen with solid shelves The inlay is made from various fruitwoods- satinwood. Rosewood, applewood- to create a beautiful affect. The fruitwoods are softer hence there use as inlay within the harder mahogany. The level of the craftmanship on these is absolutely superb, both strucurally in that they are very solid, and also with the intricacy of the inlay. The close up pictures of the inlay work hopefully illustrates the level of craftmanship with patterns of scrolling branches. Urns and flower motifs. They would be the highlight of any room and due to their solid construction will last for many generations more. They are in perfect conditon structurally and they have just come back from the restorers where they were repolished so they are ready for home use straight away. This vintage coke carton was found while cleaning out old family home in Savannah. Ga. The photos make it appear to be fadded yellow, but the wood appears to have never been painted. It's in poor to fair condition with both slats on the bottom. The WWII logos are faded, but there. The metal band is rusted through on the bottom but intact on the front. Vintage Coca Cola Coke Bottle Crate Wood Case Wooden Carrier 4-6 Packs
Wooden Coke carrier in excellent condition. The coloring is bright and no holes. There is one dip on the inside wood separator. I have seen many on e bay and I think this is one that is in great shape. Measurements are 18 1/2 x 12 x 4. Antique Holmes and Coutts Biscuits Advertising Box Wood Crate
Here is a really nice antique Holmes& Coutts Biscuit Crate from the 19th Century. I believe Holmes& Coutts was one of the original bakers that became a part of the National Biscuit Company now know as Nabisco. This box is in great shape for it age and measures approximately 21 1/4" L x 13 1/2" W x 10 1/2" H. The construction is very sturdy- there is one loose board on the bottom which reveals the old nails used when building. The label on the front of the box is well worn as could be expected on an item this old. The lid of this box lifts up and reveals another label on the inside of the cover which is in very good shape. There is a bit of peeling at the very top of the label. There are no actual hinges on the lid of this box. Rather, there are staples that connect the hid to the box. There are additional markings and ... morelabels on the end caps and front of the crate including one that shows tare weight. There is also some handwriting on the inside label showing the weight of the contents. This is a really nice piece. I can send additional photos if requested. Please ask any questions you have.
