The tea caddy measures 6.5" ... morehigh x 12" wide x 5.75" deep. The mahogany of the tea caddy is enhanced by an edge inlay of ebony or ebonized wood as well as satinwood. The ebony or ebonized wood is inlaid in the majority of the caddy edges. The satinwood inlay is placed only around the bottom edge of the tea caddy lid and also around the edge of the 2 lids of the 2 interior tea compartments as well as around the interior circular opening for the mixing bowl which is missing. The caddy has a bone inlay escutcheon and its key is present although the lock is not in working order. The 2 interior lids for the tea compartments also have bone knobs. The whole is raised on wooden bun feet. The tea caddy is in very good condition with some minor restoration. Picture#11 shows an area where some of the ebony inlay was missing and it was professionally restored with a matching wax. On the left side lid of the caddy there is a crack in the mahogany measuring 2" in length and beginning at the left edge of the lid. See picture#12. Finally the caddy has a slight wobble. This is a very old estate Native American Zuni tarnished sterling silver daisy flower pin with inlay brown shell and a turquoise stone in the middle. This could be used as a collar pin or small brooch or even a tie tack. The back was missing so I added one(back not sterling) but I haven't cleaned it so there is quite a bit of tarnish. It weighs 4.42 grams and measures 3/4" wide. One brown petal has a little"fleabite" that I show in the last photo but that may be natural to the shell. BEAUTIFUL ART DECO GEORGE V SILVER JUBILEE COMPACT IN RED. WHITE AND BLUE ENAMEL WITH A CROWN MOTIF STUDDED IN MARCASITE ABOVE THE YEAR 1935 SILVER INLAID– RARE AND UNUSUAL! An extremely elegant. Rare and unusual Art Deco compact, made to commemorate the Silver Jubilee of George V in 1935. The case is decorated in red. White and blue for the colours of the flag of Great Britain. The front and back are coated in white enamel– although it is more of a cream colour! The front lid has two enamel diagonal stripes against the cream. One in red on the corner and the other above in blue. The top right hand half has a beautiful crown motif. Studded with marcasites above the year 1935, in a silver inlay, written in Art Deco style type face. We suspect that the year‘1935’ inlay is of sterling silver. As it is to commemorate the Silver Jubilee and this ... moreis a very classy compact case. It is possible that the crown may also be of sterling silver. Although it has not been tested. The interior still has its original mirror. Powder puff and netting– with grains of powder– contained in it! HISTORY: This beautiful compact was made at the height of the Art Deco era in 1935 to celebrate the Silver Jubilee of George V. The following year. 1936, was the year of the abdication of Edward VIII who preferred Mrs Wallis Simpson! MEASUREMENTS: The compact is a perfect square of 7.8cm(3 inches) WEIGHT: The weight of the whole compact is 70g. CONDITION: This rare and unusual compact is in great condition for its age. There are no splits. Holes or signs of repair. The enamel has some crazing on front and back and there are bits of chipping around the edges. Commensurate with age and use. There are some signs of rubbing or wear to the back of the compact– please see the photo for details. We cannot see any dents or dings– anything on the photos are reflections only. ZUNI attr TEDDY WEAHKEE CG WALLACE ERA PIN RAINBOW MAN MOSAIC INLAY TURQUOISE
Welcome! This rainbow man pin or brooch is spectacular. It's large and detailed and very striking. The attribution is to Teddy Weahkee who was one of the all time great Zuni master silversmiths from the C. G. Wallace era. He is represented many times in the CG Wallace Sotheby's auction catalog and there are certain distinguishing features of this pin which are very similar to those of Leo Poblano but not quite the same. The alternating rows of jet and turquoise checkerboard in the chest include three each of jet and turquoise. And three rainbow stripes with a horizontal inlay below them. The skirt also has three alternating jet and mother of pearl squares and these have a horizontal stripe below, in jet, and two sections above, in mother of pearl and turquoise. These design features are shown in a piece in Schaaf's first Biographies ... morebook, copied above and also in the"Knifewing and Rainbow Man in Zuni Jewelry" book copied above. The work on the hat and eyes are also verifiable with fine detail plus there is the twisted wire earring and the simple hand applied raindrops framing the figure. Basically the attribution came down to Weahkee, with Leo Poblano as a close second, but even if we say we don't know who made it, we do know it's a really gorgeous pin with more detail than usual and stunning colorations. This pin is quite large at 2-1/2" high and 1-1/4" wide. And weighs a substantial 20grams. It's in great vintage condition, with normal expectable wear to the stones. All stones are hand cut and buffed and inlaid in mosaic inlay. The spondylus shell is a lovely soft color and contrasts well with the natural turquoise stones, jet and mother of pearl. The spondylus is particularly gorgeous in this pin and it is used liberally(arms, legs, face, hat and even a bit in the chest. This is a collector's item. Very beautiful and of fine quality. Solid sterling silver and blue-green turquoise chip pierced earrings, which made in Mexico by a silver smith identified by TC-49 marking. They have beautiful inlay in a geometric or Aztec style pattern of green turquoise chips. The earrings each measure 1-3/8" high and 1/2" wide. Vintage Zuni Pot Carrying Woman Sterling Turquoise Ring 6.75 This is a superior and unique vintage Zuni designer signed Hopi pot carrying woman inlay and turquoise sterling silver ring that is designer signed"LT" The pictorial piece is not inlaid directly into the silver metal. But rather it is hel ed in by a sawtooth bezel. A few of the teeth are missing on the left side. If you shake the ring up and down it rattles a bit in the bezel. Bu t it is not at risk of falling out. The inlay features stone such as onyx. Mother of pearl, turquoise, and coral, just to name a few, and has bright and festive colors. However, one corner of an elbow is missing, but since it is the onyx, its hard to see. It's on her right arm. And I don't think it really requires any repairs because of how it jus t blends. Antique 19thC guitar for restoration estate find inlay Rare instrument
This 18thC guitar is out of a local estate. Do not think you will get this and play it as it is in need of total restaoration but what a beautiful guitar you will have when it is done. Wonderful inlay with some missing cracks in the body to be repaired. The body measures 17.25 inches long and is 11.25 inches wide at the base and 8.25 wide at the top being 3.5 inches deep. The body has a slight bow in the back and was not made flat. The neck is 19 inches long from the body to the top and 23.25 inches long overall. I don't know a lot about guitars I am sure some of you out there will know though. It will ship for $22.00

ZUNI SUN FACE BOLO MOSAIC INLAY TURQUOISE CORAL SHELLS JET ABALONE EARLY 1970s
Welcome. This is a treat. It's a large sunface bolo with large and elegant elongated tear drop feather headdress. Slim elongated triangles between them, elongated inlaid tear drop earrings, hand applied rain drops between the feathers and at the neck representing a necklace. This piece uses natural stones that are impressively iridescent. The mother of pearl looks like abalone and changes in the light. It's highly opalescent. There is also natural coral and turquoise and jet as well as a brown shell. The work is top notch and this is a large piece. This one dates to 1967-83 from the Bennett inscription but the brown shell would limit the time from 1967-1973. It's in excellent vintage condition with minor wear to the stones and no cracks or hairlines that I could see. It measures 2-3/4" H x 3-1/8" W. The tips are nice. ... moreToo, original, fluted and measure 2-1/8" long. The tie with the tips end to end measures about 40" The inlay is all flush and the feel is great to the hand, with a good weight to the piece. This is a beautiful bolo. ZUNI WILLIAM ZUNIE EAGLE DANCER BOLO "BOOK PIECE" MOSAIC INLAY TURQUOISE 1970s
Welcome. This stunning Zuni bolo was handcrafted by the renowned William Zunie. One of the three eminent Zunie brothers: Lincoln and Joe and William. This Eagle Dancer has a lot of details in the full regalia of the dance costume, and is beautifully constructed. It's one of his most famous pieces. It appears in two examples of a smaller size on page 106 in the book, Kachinas and Ceremonial Dancers in Zuni Jewelry. This one s larger and more beautiful than, those with four feathers on the arm, for example, as opposed to only three feathers on the arms of those two examples. I have an even larger one with more feathers, in my other store. This one is stunning, well balanced and very satisfying. It is made of abalone, white shell and a beige shell on the face, along with coral and jet and turquoise, all perfectly cut and buffed and inlaid. ... moreThe mosaic inlay is perfectly executed and it is all smooth to the touch. The colors are bright and arresting. You might want to dance along. The size is large at a full 3-1/8" tall and 2-3/4" wide and I've replaced the leather tie with thick 6 ply buttery soft leather. Done by an expert. The sterling silver tips are original with nice detailing, but one has two dings. This didn't bother me so I kept the original tips on it. The stones have some age appropriate wear which includes a few hairlines on one piece of turquoise. I like it as it is; it's next to abalone with natural marks similar to the hairlines. The piece is heavy and solid and really is a gorgeous example. It is one of his later ones, probably 1970s, so it's signed WM ZUNIE on the back, but not for silver content which is of course at least coin silver. The tips are 2-1/2" long and the tie with the tips included end to end measures 40" long. It's always nice to have a book piece to substantiate the artistry. This is a beautiful bolo. ZUNI SUN FACE BOLO FEATHERED HEADDRESS NECKLACE MOSAIC INLAY TURQUOISE mid-1960s
Welcome. This is a rare piece and I'll start off by saying I worked hard to identify it and so far I've failed! So if you know. I'd love to hear from you. There's definitely a feel of Dexter Cellicion in this piece but I can't substantiate an attribution. Not yet, anyway. It is gorgeous and unusual, using all natural stones that are a rare combination. There is serpentine, a deep rich turquoise, a blood red coral that is almost dark enough to be pipestone, also jet and mother of pearl. The silver work is all individually hand made and hand applied raindrops and twisted wire. This is a gorgeous piece which I wear often with great pleasure. The sun face has elaborate forehead work, much like the piece on page 135 of"Hopi Bird and Sun Face in Zuni Jewelry" but that piece s not identified either! There are lovely ... moreinlaid earrings, ears, elaborate headdress of feathers with complex inlay work and this piece is wearing a great necklace with a Najah. It doesn't get better than this. I just love the combination of colors and this. The stones were hand cut and buffed and have a crude feeling under magnification but they don't look crude in person. They look great. That is why I have been wearing it a lot. The piece was probably made in the mid-1960's unless it was converted from wire back to Bennett. It does have an early feel to it to me. The tips are original and are in good shape, with the fluted beads at the bottom and the nice weight of the old ones. The tie is also old and seems original and yet it's supple and can be used as it is. This is a nice size bolo. Measuring 2-3/4" H x 2-3/8" W. The Bennett is stamped C-31. It isn't signed but characters are scratched on the back that look like A LAK, probably a trader's mark. This was made at a time they weren't marked for silver content but it's assuredly at least coin silver. The tips measure 2-1/8" tall and the tie measures 40" end to end with the tips included.
