The lid is inlaid with large pieces of beautiful shades of blue and green malachite and sodalite. A butterfly design made of sterling silver. Copper and brass grace the lid of this lovely box. The box is signed on the back. It could use a good cleaning and will polish to a bright finish inside and on the lid but I always leave that to the new owner as some people prefer the original patina. The box measures 7 1/2" by 4 1/2" and stands 1 1/8" in height. This is a heavy very well made box. There is no notable damages or flaws and is in excellent vintage condition. An Unusual Antique Art Deco Box in form of 3 Books and Bookends-c1920s-Inlaid.
This unusual Antique Art Deco Box in the form of Three Books and a Pair of Bookends dates I believe to around the 1920s or thereabouts. The Box is inlaid and appears to have been made from more than one type of wood. But as I am no expert I won't even try to guess what types these are! The Box stands approximately 3.75 inches high and measures approximately 5 inches across the base. Although the width of the Box itself is only around 4 inches. The depth of the Box is approximately 3.25 inches. The lid of the Box still retains its original hinges and although fully functional have a little bit of"play" to them. The Box lid is a little off-centre I presume due to the hinges or warping and there seems to be some gaps where the lid does not sit as snugly as it should. There are some imperfections to the venner of the wood-both inside ... moreand out-some lifting/scuffs/scratches etc. But I think that these can be forgiven due to its unusual and possibly unique appearance. The Box would be suitable for a whole variety of purposes-Jewellery. Sewing collectables, Stationery etc, and weighs approximately 173 grams.

Offered is an old 4/4 violin. Amati modeling. One piece back. Caspari pegs. There is a label: James Sholle 1950. It appears older than 1950. The violin is entirely hand carved. The scroll and neck are original. I.e. not grafted. Used. Several repaired top cracks. All repaired and stable. No back cracks. No rib cracks. No peg box cracks. Never a bass bar or sound post. There are a few repaired chips. And a few that are not. The neck heel was cracked and repaired with an ebony pin through the button. The fingerboard has been recessed into the neck, and there is a wedge under the fingerboard at the end of the neck. There is'Bd. of Ed. and a number scribed into the back under the button. The sound post is set. I think it could be played as is. I've drawn a bow over the strings. And played a few notes in 1st position successfully. Please ... morenote: I am not a trained violinist. The Thunderbird tips are so cool. I do not know if they are original or added later. I cannot find any maker marks on these either. I can tell that they are very old. Up for auction is this Octagon shaped Inlaid Wood and Enamel Box. It measures 5 1/2" wide x 4 3/4" x 2" high. It is really pretty but age in taking its toll. This is a nice vintage Mexican made bridle. The beautiful concho's are sterling silver inlaid over iron and they have a lot of detailing to them. The hand carved leather is still in good condition and this bridle is totally usable but the leather could probably use a good conditioning. The bridle measures about 38" at it's shortest setting and can be let out about 4" from there. The leather is 1" wide and the large cheek concho's are 2" It comes with a stunning Sterling Silver Inlaid Curb bit with rollers. Vintage(ca. 1950's) reverse painted glass with intricately inlaid abalone in painted black wood molding. The glass is completely painted. Both images and background. Made by Sampoong Industrial Arts Co. Suth Korea. Solid brass hanger. The framed size is 14" x 20" A few scratches to outer glass that are not readily noticeable, but can be seen upon close inspection. A few almost imperceptible tiny areas of paint loss that can scarcely be seen, but I mention them nevertheless. Some dings to black painted wood frame- all the inlaid abalone is fine. Really quite nice for its age. Beautiful image of two graceful sea birds with predominantly silver metallic paint on the birds and extending to the trunks and foliage above and below them. The early"clock gear" rowels are exceptional, with the early style parallel tines, and are typically earlier than 1870. These spurs were done by the hand of a Maestro's artisan-ship; especially considering the 1870's period in which they were created. These spurs are completely hand forged and painstakingly inlaid with dozens and dozens of hand chiseled inlays; then, meticulously inlaid with silver and hand engraved with a variety of engraving styles. This is a rare stunning handmade miniature mandolin instrument. It is made from the finest materials. Mother of pearl. Wood, faux tortoise shell. It is extremely detailed and very well made. I believe the bridge is made out of bone. It appears that each piece of mother of pearl has been inlaid separately. It is great shape and measures 2 1/2 x 1 inch. It comes in a red velvet lined wooden box with a slide out lid. This is a very rare high quality miniature. I am amazed by the detail someone put into crafting this treasure.

Up for bids are 2 very nice sterling Native American bracelets. The first is a signed B. WEBB 5 horse cuff style bracelet. It is marked sterling along with B. WEbb which some of it is hard to see. Tried to show in pics. Very good condition, I see only 1 spot near the tail of the first horse where the black enamel is missing, this measures 6 1/4' with a 1' gap. The second bracelet I'm not sure who made it but is a really neat piece. It has 3 separate stones which looks like mop with a blue bird inlaid in center of each, with red& teal colored spots, guessing maybe leaves and fruit? Very nice detailed silver around each. This is a pair of very good looking handmade silver earrings crafted in Taxco. Mexico by Alberto Diaz Ocampo. The earrings are marked on the back“A OCAMPO, TAXCO, MEX” in a circle around“925” The mark may be referenced in Hougart’s“The Little Book of Mexican Silver Trade and Hallmarks” Hougart describes Ocampo as“A talented designer at Taller Borda” Hector Aguilar’s shop) The earrings measure approximately 2 1/2” in length and 1 1/8” across the bottom. They are screw backs and we would guess made in the 1950’s. This design features a silver ball at the top of a triangle which is hinged to a trapezoid beneath. The hinge allows the bottom half to move freely which in thrn enhances the flashing colors of the abalone inlay.
