MEXICAN INLAID STERLING SILVER EARRINGS ~ WONDERFUL DESIGN ~ TAXCO
This is a pair of hand crafted screwback earrings from Taxco. Mexico. It is one of the nicest designs we’ve seen in this type of earring. The female figure in each is composed of 3 parts, connected by links, which allow independent movement of the torso and skirt from the head. The stone inlay is some sort of turquoise aggregate. Only one earring bears a mark which simply says“STERLING TAXCO” see photos) We do not know who actually produced them. We suspect that they were originally part of a necklace set which would have had more complete identifying markings. The earrings are approximately 1 ½” in length. What sets this pair of earrings apart from many other Mexican earrings is the design quality. We’ve owned these for many years and have yet to see their duplicate. These earrings are inlaid with turquoise and and small strip of coral. They are for pierced ears. The turquoise is a very bold blue and could be from the Morenci Mine. They measure 1 inch long and 1/2 of an inch wide. They are stamped Sterling. I purchased them at a vintage shop in Albuquerque. New Mexico. If you have further questions, please let me know. Silver inlaid kids with original spur straps. These small spurs are scarce in this size; about 4" long, and made for a young buckaroo cowboy or cowgirl. The pair, with straps, weigh 12.5 ounces. Being hand made, the heel band openings vary slightly, and have around a 2 1/4" measurement at the open end. The large(for kid's spurs) 8 tined rowels being hand forged, also vary; and are about 2" in diameter. The outside heel bands are silver inlaid with silver inlaid bands on both the top and bottom that are ... morepunch dot decorated. The center panels have a wide silver inlaid Aztec pattern with fine zig zag engraving above and below. The inside heel bands are unadorned. The 3/4" diameter outside buttons have 5 zig zag line engravings. All the swingers and buttons are original and match. The outside shanks are silver inlaid in a horse show pattern with 2 different sizes of punch dot decoration, and a zig zag engraved border. All the silver inlays have deep, dark natural aged patina; but would polish up if desired. The inside shanks are zig zag engraved in a stylized leaf like pattern. The outside rowel pins have round rowel pin finials. Complete with fine old vintage original small sized spur straps that are pig skin lined with aged nickle plated buckles. There is some staining to the leathers, but would blend in if treated with leather conditioner. As expected, there is genuine wear to the soft silver inlays, with accompanying dings from genuine saddle wear, which adds character to the spurs. It is very hard to find a set of antique silver kids spurs in good condition; especially with the original old leather spur straps. You would have had to have had a wealthy Padre to be given a

Bellport Jewelers& Rarities 631-286-7700 Description. A beautiful example of Taxco workmanship. A pin combination pendant that is 30mm x 45mm across oval shaped. All edges are smooth and the piece is inlaid with lapis. Turquoise, bronze and brass metal. Marked on back with the Eagle 3 and the FLC maker's marks. Pin and bale are working as they should. We haven't polished the piece so it has its old patina. While some of the inlaid lapis and turqoise may seem imperfect the piece is completely smooth to the touch and I don't see any serious issues. Weighs 7.5 grams. Note the pendant and pin are made so the piece is worn east to west with the image of the mayan facing left with the headdress and the volcano top facing east. A Hollywood stunt man and trick roper/ rider for the Clyde Beatty Circus in the mid 1940's to the 1950's. I obtained these spurs in July 2000 from his widow after Redd's passing. Fine investment quality BIG& HEAVY(over 3 pounds! Antique, ornate, hand forged, intricately double mounted silver inlaid, fancy Charro style spurs, circa 1920 or so. Both the inside and outside heel bands, shanks, buttons and rowels are extensively& finely ... moresilver inlaid by hand, with dozens and dozens of individual silver inlays. These LARGE custom made antique spurs were completely hand made by Master craftsmen using only basic hand tools such as hammers, files, chisels, and grind stones. These full-sized man's spurs are THICK& HEAVY; about 7" long overall, with about a 3 1/8" heel band opening at the open end. Both the inside and outside heel bands are 1 1/2" wide and 3/8" thick, that are hand sculptured by chiseling to form a 3 dimensional chevron design. There are dozens of fine, thin, individual inlays that are hand chiseled and then hand inlaid in silver. This intricate and detailed chiseling/ inlay work is a lost art in spur craftsmanship. The depressed background of the chiseled designs create a textured zig zag pattern of the raised& domed 3 dimensional silver inlaid designs. Because of the double mounted silver inlays on both the inside and outside heel bands, shanks, buttons, and rowels, either side could be worn towards the outside by simply changing the spur straps. This set includes a hand forged& silver inlaid Rattle snake figurative ... moresmall, pony size bit, a finely made single ear headstall hand embroidered with pitiado(cactus) fiber, and a fancy set of 4 color cotton reins with 3 color candy striped pattern and 3 color hand braided yarn teardrop knot decorations. This kid's Padre was undoubtedly wealthy, perhaps Head of the Spread; as most kids North or South of the border didn't own their own pony. This is a single ear style headstall with 2 layers of leather that are stitched together. The leather of the headstall has a hand embroidered pitiado center decoration made from cactus fiber from the Agave cactus; the same plant that produces Tequila. All pieces of the headstall match in color and are supple. When hanging, the headstall is about 20" from the top to the bit loops. The ring bit loops have double leather concho decorations secured with leather thongs. This 11/16" wide headstall has an adjustable buckle on one side, with a nickel plated roller buckle fastened with a nickle plated rivet. SANTA DOMINGO PUEBLO Turquoise Inlaid Shell Necklace
This is a very special necklace. The Santa Domingo Pueblo inlaid shell pendant was purchased from Rio Grande Jewelry in Albuquerque. The pendant was strung on a single strand of very small heishi beads. I altered the necklace to make it more substantial. Using the original small beads, plus new turquoise nuggets, faceted spiny coral, mother-of-pearl and sterling silver beads,and shell and turquoise heishi, finishing it with sterling silver end cones and a Bali sterling silver toggle clasp. This is a Fleming marked steel bit inlaid with sterling silver. It has the smaller Fleming mark inside one cheek piece. Fleming is listed in Old Cowboy Saddles& Spurs by Gretchen and Mike Graham. The bit is steel with a natural patina. There are inlaid sterling silver stripes along both edges of the cheek pieces and inlaid engraved sterling silver on the cheek pieces and on the slobber bar. It has a Salinas mouth piece with a copper hood and copper coated roller. There is some pitting in the steel from age. He did not manufacture his own instruments. He sold instruments made by a number of well known quality makers. The TABU burnt mark was used only between 1915 and 1920 on ukes for Summers. This uke has an unusual headstock that I have mostly seen Leonardo Nunes use. Originally I thought it was made by Kumalae but in my extensive research I could not find any uke that Jonah Kumalae made with this headstock. I did find several that Leonardo Nunes had made. Now just to confuse you I did find a headstock like this made by Ah Tau Kam who supposedly taught Kamaka to make ukes. Old cowboy silver inlaid spurs with 1907-1916 dated US coin conchos!
This is a great old pair of hand forged cowboy spurs that I bought years ago from the estate of an old local cowboy. They are single-mounted. The shanks have inlaid silver bands and overlaid silver"BH" initials. The rowel guards are engraved silver. And have that wonderful melodious jingle tone that collectors love. The heel bands each have 3 conchos consisting of overlaid US dimes and quarters dating from 1907- 1916. The original straps are old style flower tooled. And remain in in fair usable condition. A great pair of old western spurs that display well. I only ship to USA.

Offered is a what I believe is a Zuni ring. This has mother of pearl face that has simple inlaid flower design. The flower is small piece of turquoise and the stem and leaves are silver. The"frame" has a twist design. I believe that the metal is sterling but the piece is unmarked so I cannot be positive. It cleaned up like sterling. The ring is a size 6.5. Made in Guadalajara, Jalisco, features an etched longhorn surrounded by stunning inlaid abalone. It's a great example of what a talented silversmith can accomplish with sterling silver and abalone. With Different Inlaid Metals I'm not sure if this is bronze or what but it is different metals. If you stick your hand inside vase, it is not smooth feels kind of rough not sure why, it's hard to see in there, it's so dark. It has an etched signature on the one side in Japanese/Chinese Writing. It shows slight normal wear with a couple small white spots to the back. See pictures. Otherwise still in great shape. Measures approx. 7" tall. But I am pretty sure of the name. There were a number of Zuni silversmiths by the name of Sice. This appears to be a"sunface" design and is comprised of tortoise shell, MOP, jet, turquoise and coral. HELLO AND WELCOME TO OLD.VINTAGE.RETRO. On offer is a very decorative old Lute. The only similar ones I can find with mother of pearl inlay are North African or Middle Eastern- info is welcome. The front looks to be very cheaply and primitively made but the back looks to be beautifully inlaid with mother of pearl. It has had modern strings fitted and it seems to play fine- it sounds pretty good although I'm no expert. It measures. height- 45cm width- 22.5cm depth- 13cm Good old decorative instrument in very good condition. ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE ASK. Massive #8 Turquoise Bracelet 175g signed NS inlaid turquoise interior OAK
I really hate to sell this one but it is just too big for me to wear and I need to thin things out a little. This a gallery worthy. Very high quality Turquoise bracelet. It features two of the most beautiful birds-eye#8 turquoise I have ever seen. The inlay work on the interior of the bracelet is smooth as glass and stone to stone fit on a curved surface like the inside of the bracelet indicates the work of a master. This bracelet weighs 175 grams and the inside circumference not including the 1 3/4" gap is 6" the band of the bracelet is 5/8' wide and you can get an idea of the size of the matched cabs by checking the photo with the measuring tape. It is hallmarked N S sterling. There are a couple folks using these initials so you will haveto figure that one out on your own. Definitely a one of a kind piece and real show stopper.
