But the wear on the holes to fix it to the wall look consistant with it being at least 100 years old. There is a split in the bottom half of the frame, but it does not go to the edge and the mirror is still tightly mounted. It needs some TLC but it isn't really that bad. It needs the hinges refastened on the top lid and on the side flaps that open up. There is a line/crack on the top of the box that looks like someone tried to fix but didn't do a good job of it. If you look at all the pictures. You can probably get a better idea of what to expect. The scenes are beautiful but I don't know what they symbolize. The are made of what looks like an inlaid design of some kind and the designs are in wonderful condition, it's just the black wood that needs work. To include 50 blue chips, 50 red chips and 100 white chips. The chips are all of the horse with jockey chips pictured. I am not sure what type of hardwood the carousel is made of. But could be walnut. There are slots in the top of the carousel for two(2) decks of cards. There are NO cards included. The brass handle goes through the faux leather cover slot for an easy carry. Asian Handmade Ornate Wood Inlaid Mother-of-Pearl Playing Cards Box
This is a handmade vintage playing card box with mother-of-pearl inlay work on the wooden top. The top is opened with a brass finial that looks like it was made of an antique Chinese coin. The style of the bottom also looks Chinese. But the design on the top looks Middle Eastern. Its origin is a mystery to me because I got it at an estate auction quite a while ago. It is in very good condition- no chips or cracks or repairs or missing pieces. There is some oxidation on the metal hinges and screws. The box is about 2.5" high X 5.5" wide X 10.5" long and weighs 1.5 pounds unpacked. Shipping is by Parcel Post USPS as quickly and securely as possible. This is a real conversation piece at the card table.

You then push the button on the top and a cigarette comes out of the mouth of the face on the side. There's also a hidden compartment that opens when a second button is pushed on the base. It holds full pack of cigarettes. Hand Made with Japanese scenes on each side of the top filler section. One scene is in the shape of a FAN. You are bidding on a 19th century Swiss Mermod Frere music box. This music box is in original working condition-it has had no restoration. It is numbered 31309 on the Programme sheet. The Jacot's Safety Check has patent dates of April 1882 and September 1886 and DRP#33516. 23 x 9 x 6" with beautifully inlaid top and front. Again. Made in Brazil circa the 1950s. Measuring 21 inches by 13 and 1/4 inches, the inlaid wood tray has an open handle on each end. The piece weighs 3 and 1/4 pounds. Under the glass are real butterfly wings in shades of orange. Brown and yellow, with luminescent blue wings in semi-circles that really"pop" when the light hits it just right. There are no significant flaws to the wood or glass. Condition issues: Not readily noticeable. But under close inspection one of the semi-circle butterfly wing designs has some damaged wings( see listing photos with red arrows) There are scratches and a few missing screws to the underside of the tray. Hudson River Inlay wood mirror Santa Fe 27"x33" inlaid Jeff Nelson marquetry
This is a special original rendition border mirror of a Southwest Navajo design of thunderbirds entitled"Santa Fe" by renowned marquetry artist Jeffrey Alan Nelson with a beveled glass mirror. He works out of his Hudson River Inlay studio located in New York. You may have seen him and his work at a craft show. The art of marquetry is the process of inlaying different types of wood and shell to create the image of the object. No two pieces are ever the same. Due to the nature of the wood; its varying grain and hue. This piece has some highly noticeable turquoise reconstone and rosewood. It was cut into pieces, glued down to an mdf board, and allowed to dry. A router went too far, and made a cut which had to be repaired. Then it was sanded and sealed with lemon oil. The outer frame is maple with a cherry stain and the inner frame ... moreis a different profile made of lyptus with a lemon oil finish. Along the outer frame you can see the tiny nail heads used to make the frame. It comes with a listing of which woods have been used and the corresponding location in the mirror. There is no painting. There is k raft paper covering the back side. This can be allowed to hang vertically or horizontally due to the nature of the design. The back of the frame has a long wire attached for hanging. Carved All Stone Walrus Figurine Up for sale. Is this vintage carved, all stone sculpture of a stylized walrus. The body is made of mottled, serpentine stone. The tusks are stylized, overly accented, white quartzite stone. Other such figurines use soapstone and marble for the tusks. The effect is perfectly charming. This figure measures about 4" long. It is in very good condition with a few tiny impact marks on the back. Nothing serious. Nor does this detract from the display. These figurines were mass produced, once plentiful and popular back in the 1970's and 1980's. The original design may have come from Eskimo artists but was then copied, machine made by a template, and distributed to gift shops across America. Old Silver Mounted Violin Bow With Pearl Inlaid Frog - Stamped L. Wenzel (David)
Hello, Listed for auction is a 4/4 size violin bow bearing a maker's stamp. The stamp can be seen just above the frog and before the sterling screw; it reads L. Wenzel No such maker exists. Rather. The maker's stamp was worn. The L. is supposed to be a D for David. David Wenzel is a well documented Bowmaker known for the quality of his materials and his craftsmanship; came to prominence 1930- Germany. The sterling screw spins smoothly and effortlessly. I can certify that the button is silver. A luthier confirmed that the tongue on the frog is also sterling silver. The dark chocolate colored stick has been freshly re-haired and is very supple with professional action from frog to tip. As you can see in the photos. The ebony frog is inlaid with a unique pearl decoration. It appears to be a large eye. Centered by a cross, perhaps suggesting ... moresome religious significance. The bow is finished with a faux whalebone lapping. And what appears to be very nice lizard leather. The bow is quite old and shows obvious signs of professional use. It is ready to play. Two identical chairs. Persian intricate inlaid work of Mother of Pearl and Ivory were purchased from an antique shop in the Big Bazaar near Lalezar Nov in Tehran Iran in 1940. My parents bought the chairs and they were told at the time that the chairs were quite old. We cannot testify to them being Persian. Perhaps Lebanese or Syrian. HEAVY HAND WROUGHT LOS CASTILLO TAXCO RATTLESNAKE PLATE w INLAID STONE MOSAIC
Description: Heavy hand wrought vintage Los Castillo married metals rattlesnake plate. Primarily in sterling silver with the rattlesnake design in copper and small design details in brass, and a raised rim that has inlaid stone mosaic of lapis and turquoise. This plate measures 5-1/8 inches diameter. The stone mosaic around the rim measures 1/4 inch wide. On the back the plate is marked HAND WROUGHT LOS CASTILLO TAXCO, inside the Los Castillo circular marking there is a faint Mexican silver eagle mark with the workshop number 15 inside of it denoting the Los Castillo workshop, and there is also a stamp with the number 89 for the model inventory number. This plate is very heavy for its size, it weighs 169.3 grams. There are some tiny darkened pinpoint dots on the plate, these can be shined or buffed off but we did not clean the plate at all ... morebecause collectors prefer their own methods of cleaning and some prefer not to clean at all. All the stones are solidly in place and there are no empty crevices, a few of the stones have closed stable cracks which look like they may even be from the time of making, and in any case all the stonework is present and has wonderful coloration. A Very Fine Inlaid Koryo Celadon Bottle Vase-13 th C. Korea. Koryo period, 12 th-13 th century This is a fine celadon inlaid bottle vase of a tall slender neck rising to the flared mouth and inlaid in black and white slip with three sprays of chrysanthemum. The neck surrounded by a band of Ruyi pattern in white slip inlaid and applied with a transparent bright blue-green glaze overall. Firing sands on the bottom. It has one kiln kiss on the body and a small part of mouth repaired with an original piece and also it has about 1” short chip on the base(please see photo) and a short crack related to a chip. Otherwise it is in fine condition. Including wooden box. It measures 10 ½” height. 5 ½” diameter
