At its base it measure 6 1/2" from front ... moreto back and 6 1/2" from side to side. The lifter fits this crown very well and also has a head size of 22 1/2" It is 1/2" thick and would raise the height of the crown by this additional amount. The shallow crown has a circumference of 24" even though the measurement 22 1/2" is incised on the bottom. It has a diameter of 8' front to back and 7" side to side. The lifter doesn't fit this crown. Also there is a 3/4" long shallow divot on the top. It won't show much on a felt or velour body. But might on a fine straw. The brim has a circumference of 46" and measures 15" from front to back and 14" from side to side. The block's peg holes allow crowns to be placed in either direction. This was a well used brim, as can be seen by the hundreds of tack holes around the base, and several chips occurred along the edge. Many of those have been repaired with wood epoxy, but the edges are still not completely smooth. All four pieces have been recently lacquered and I am including one peg with the set.

Size 22-1/4" Brim is 2-1/2" at center front. 2" ... moreat center back, 3" on the turned up side and 2" on the other. A very classic and easy to wear shape in a Downton Abbey-esque cloche shape. It was a well-loved block and has quite a few pin holes from use. There is a crack in the side that will need to be repaired with wood glue. Part of the outside edge of the brim has been repaired and it will need a bit of sanding as well. Please see photos. It also has a great patina. Perfect for the at-home or professional milliner. Also makes a beautiful statement home decor piece and is a must-have for any collector. These blocks are like little pieces of art! Please be sure you know what you are bidding on. But I believe this is a healthy piece of millinery history with a handsome patina. As with any old wood piece, there are scratches, scuffs and other blemishes that come with a long journey. My favorite nuances are the faded lettering on the inside sections of the pieces when the mold is separated. The only condition issue that I would like to point out is that somewhere along the line. Someone replaced the screwed supports that hold the five sections together. See photos. The photos may not perfectly capture the nuances of this fine piece. Wooden hat mold in repaired shape. Looks like the mold split and it has been glued back and had two metal wedges placed in bottom of mold. Marked 5 3/4 and 7 1/8 on the bottom along with 1547 and Eastern Woolen Co. Omaha, Nebraska. Measures 22 inches around bottom of ring. Top of ring measures 20 1/2 inches. Also put pictures of the measurements of bottom of ring in listing. Has some small cracks in the top as shown in photo. Take a look at the other item I have listed and save on shipping.

Vintage Wood Hat Stretcher Block w/Handle Extender- ADJUSTABLE Antique Tool
For sale is an antique or vintage wooden hat stretcher. I don't know how to measure these for the hat size. But I can tell you that when fully closed the piece measures 7.25" by 6.25" When fully extended it measures 8.5" by 6.25" It would actually expand a little bit further as far as the wood center screws go, but that is the limit of the metal alignment posts on each side- any further and they come out of the hole on the other half of the stretcher. The wood of the center screw is shiney as if the stretcher was used often. Seems to be oak. 1lb 3.6oz. The piece is 2.5" thick(or tall) at each of the ends and slopes down to 2" thick in the center(where it separates)

But there are some dark, looks like ink, marks on it as seen in pics. One strip of the orange fabric is a little lighter than the rest of it, I think that shows up in the pics as well. It measures about 10 1/2" tall and about 21 3/4" around at the widest point. There is a number on the back that looks like a 22 plus maybe a fraction, but I can't make out that part. It has felt eyes and mouth on it, and one corner on each is coming up slighty. I uploaded close up pics of this, but I think they could easily be glued back down.

Wood millinery hat block round crown & cloche brim
This is a cloche silhouette with the round crown and the downward flaring brim necessary to form the bell shape. The crown has a head size of 22 1/2" and a height of 3 1/2" The brim has a circumference of 33" and measures 3' in the front and 2" in the back. The crown has a few minor dings but these should not show on a finished body. The brim has a shallow chip on one side that may show on a fine straw but should be easy to steam out. Both blocks have been recently lacquered to prevent sticking and staining and one peg is included.

For Sale is a very old hat mold. Made by Haas Wood& Ivory Works. As you can see it comes apart easily and has two near complete label remnants. Labels show originally from San Francisco. This is no garage sale find. This was my mothers for many years. I don't know much about these but I would guess it's from the 1940s. Perhaps earlier. All original with nice patina and many pin holes. Has one black metal clasp to hold it together. It looks like it may have had two clasps originally, so one may be missing. This auction is for a vintage 60's Yves Saint Laurent mod bubble hat. It is made out of fuchsia. Purple, yellow and aqua wool felt with mustard yellow leather or vinyl(not sure) trim with black gross grain ribbon. It is marked size 22 and measures about 21 3/4" around the inside of the hat. There are two small wear spots on the yellow section. See picture and some light spotting on the ribbon which I have not tried to clean. This hat is fresh out of storage. Wood millinery hat block reverse profile brim and base
This a reverse or plunge style brim. The body is pushed in the center to shape the brim. I did not have a crown that fit this brim. But I did have an old base to a block that slides in perfectly. Otherwise, you need to make it a two piece hat and tack the body around the inside which can take time. There are many tack holes on the inside indicating that this has been done in the past. The wood base insert means you don't have to do all that tacking. However, it is not a crown and the spinner hole has gone completely through it as you can see from the photos. I did lacquer both pieces to prevent sticking. The brim has an outside circumference of 37" and inside one of 22 1/4" The diameter of the inner hole is 8" front to back and 6 1/4" side to side. The brim measures 3 1/2" in the front and 2 1/2" in the back. ... moreThere are several minor dings but these should only show on a very fine straw body. A crown could be pushed in to depth of 5" before hitting the bottom of the stand. The wood insert has a circumference of 21 1/4" and is 3" tall. There is a crack that runs along the grain of the wood length wise, it appears to be stable and should not affect the function of the brim.

Wood millinery hat block fedora crease crown
This is a classic fedora shaped crown with a lengthwise crease on the tip and symmetric indentations on the front sidewall. I do not have the tipper for this block so it may require more time to form the crease on the top. It is in good condition with a few minor chips on the finish. But it has been recently lacquered so the should be no sticking or staining. The circumference is 22 3/4" and it is 5 1/4" high at its tallest point, while the bottom of the crease is 4" tall.
