Wood millinery hat block reverse / plunge brim: cowboy, fedora, derby
This is a classic style brim for a large derby or fedora or perhaps a medium sized cowboy hat. The outside circumference is 42 1/2" and the inside is 22 1/2" The front extends 3 3/4" and the back 3 1/2" The sides measure 4" wide. It is on a stand that allows the crown to be pushed in 7" There is an old finish on the surface that is crackled and this may have to be steamed or brushed off the finished hat. It has been recently lacquered so there should be no sticking or staining. There are a few minor dings on the surface but these should not show on the finished body.

Wood millinery hat block small flat brim with bumper edge
This is a small flat brim with an outside circumference of 31 1/4" It also has a bumper on the edge that is one inch deep. If the bumper edge is wired tightly the bumper can be converted to a roll which is a nice option. Also. If made as a two piece hat the brim can be reversed and the bumper can be in the up position so there are a variety of silhouettes with this simple shape. The peg holes are positioned so that the crown sits towards the back of the brim, leaving a measurement of about 2 1/2" in the front and 1" in the back. The peg holes are 5" apart. The brim has a diameter of 10" front to back and 9" side to side. The brim has been recently lacquered to prevent sticking and staining. There are multiple tack holes on the top and sides but in general it is in good condition and should create many more wonderful ... morehats.

Vintage Head Cloche Hat Block Milliners Millinery Mold 1920s~RARE~Folk Art~
Fantastic old hat block/sizer. This piece has been used a lot! I can only imagine all the fabulous hats that sat on this head! This is a combination of what appears to be cardboard with a wooden insert in the base of the neck. There is a tape measure decal across the head(for measurements) and there is the remains of a manufacturers label at the bottom front of neck. You are bidding on an Uncommon Vintage Millinery Hat Block Form Mold Wood Wooden Brim- The piece measures about 12 1/4" across. And 10" wide and about 2 1/4" thick at the thickest point. inside measures 7 5/8" x 6 1/4" It is not marked 1 crack right though the brim. Overall the piece is in very good condition for its age. Wood millinery hat block reverse / plunge profile brim
This is profile reverse brim has normally been used with a crown pushed into the center. Because there are few if any tack holes on the inside. However, I do not have the crown that went with it. The outside circumference is 37" and the inside circumference is 22" The inside diameter is 7 1/2" front to back and 6 1/2" side to side. The brim measures 3" on all sides. The overall height in the front including the stand is 8" and a crown could be pressed to a maximum depth of 5" before hitting the bottom of the stand. There is a ding on the front edge of the brim that would require steaming the hat after blocking, and some fine cracks that are stable but may show on the underside of a body and need to be steamed also. Wood millinery hat puzzle block helmet, pillbox, bubble, crown
This 5 piece block interlocks so that the finished hat can be removed without deformation. This flattened bubble was popular in the 60's. At its widest point it has a circumference of 28" an at the head size it measures 22 1/2" From the bottom of the base to the tip it is 9" tall but a finished hat would be more like 5" high. I took a photo of the bottom of the base because besides the spinner hole there are 4 peg holes so this may have been used to make an unusually tall crown. The second rope mark has ben filled in with 2 strips of leather cording perhaps to create a collar on the bottom edge. The block has several Dutchman's repairs and one section in the front fell out and was repaired with wood putty. One of the inside section has newsprint lacquered on it. This was a method used to tighten the block. The ... moresection lines may show on a body but should be easy to steam out. The hat block has been recently lacquered to prevent stick and staining but be aware that the base has not been lacquered. In case if you want to attempt to use the whole thing as a crown.

Wood millinery hat block fedora creased crown
This crown is made from poplar and is a classic shape for either a men's or women's hat. I do not have the tipper. So it will require a longer time to steam in the curved crease on the top. The circumference of the crown is 22 1/2" and it is about 5 1/2" tall. It has a spinner hole on the bottom so it can be blocked on its own or several peg holes allow it to be paired with any flat based brim. The photos show multiple cracks but all are stable and should not show on the finished hat. There are also some tack holes which are to be expected and a few small dings, none of which should show. The block has been recently lacquered to prevent sticking and staining.

Usage marks from hat making and from someone decorating the form with a face, but the frame is in tact and in good shape. Pole mount on the bottom is strong. It is canvas covered, so it can give just a little bit. Operational Condition: This item is in working condition. It is solid and not beat-up. Wood millinery hat puzzle block pillbox / brim
This block is constructed in 5 pieces so that the finished hat can be removed without deformation. It has a 22 1/2" head size and the maximum circumference is 30 1/4" The overall height including the base is 7" But if used as pillbox the finished hat would be about 4" tall. It can also be used as a brim. There are peg holes on the tip that allow a crown to be placed on top. Then this block would form a small cushion brim. There are peg holes on the bottom of the base(see last photo) so perhaps it was used as an unusually tall crown, but the base has not been recently lacquered like the rest of the block. On the tip is incised the maker's mark, the head size and model number and also a faint circle indicating it was made in a union shop.

Set of three wooden hat and brim molds from the estate of an older gentleman. We think they belonged to his father. Nice condition for their age with expected wear and tear. Wood has some markings. Millinery form or block. This baby is big and heavy- 23" base circumference(actually closer to 23 1/4) 5 1/2" tall and weighs just over 3 pounds. Form is marked"5 3/4" 7 1/4" and"52" on the bottom. These molds were used with hot steam the form the felt into hats and this one has perfect steam and salt marks along the bottom edges, expected cracking from the heat on the top, some small chips, rubs and pin marks, beautiful authentic patina- this was a hard working hat mold!
