Silent Warrior Kachina, Tarahumara dough bowl, by Hopi Artist Ernest Selina
Painted by Ernest Selina of Second Mesa. Arizona. The design is first burned in- then painted and a varnish is applied over the painting- note the gloss. The painting is on a hand hewn Tarahumara dough bowl of a hard wood called Madrona. The bowl measures 22.25" long by 10.75" wide and about 3" deep. The bowl has a nice flat area on the back ideal for hanging the bowl on a wall. Ernest signed the piece and titled it on the back of the bowl with his burner. 13.75" X 12.75" Signed Munising Woodenware Wood Dough Mixing Bowl
The bowl is slightly oblonged over time. The Maple has major birdseyeing throughout the entire piece. The finish has been all worn off. Munsing signing on the bottom. The Munsing web site tells me that it was turned between 1920-1930. The bowl has 1/2" lip around it. Very nice. The bowl is about 3.75" in depth. The flash on my camera is not great.Bowl is not light in coler as the last pic shows.

This is a very early carved out dough bowl with an unusual shape made to set in the crook of your hand. It has years of wear and rich pati na to the wood. It likely dates to early 1900's if not pre 1900's. It is large at about 1 6" long by 11 1/2" wide by 4 1/2" deep. It is in good shape but does have a slight crack sho wn in pictures 6 and 8. That could easily be repaired with a little wood glue. I have enjoyed it just as it is for as long as I have owned it. It is one of two that I am listing today. We are pleaseds to offer this unusual and very nice antique wooden bowl on legs. The piece(dough bowl. Night stand, accent table) features an old wooden bowl(appears to be walnut) which is mounted on a beautiful base. The base features 4 legs with center pedestal support. The legs also appear to be walnut and have very nice, turned wood lines. The legs have beautiful, gilt iron and glass, ball and claw feet. The bowl, which does have some minor knife or utensil marks has been polished and has a beautiful sheen. The legs have more of a matte finish. The piece is in very good, antique condition. There are a few minor scuffs but nothing major or distracting and these can certainly be resolved. The feet are in good condition. Large 20.5" Antique Primitive Old Wood Dough Bowl Trencher Treen Country Table
ANTIQUE PRIMITIVE 20.5" WOOD TRENCHER DOUGH BOWL This is a beautiful dough bowl that was acquired recently from an estate in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. Although this primitive wood dough bowl was carved from one piece of wood, it has a nice smooth finish. In addition to its length of 20.5' x 10' wide and 4" deep. It is doubled handled and shows a few small white paint specks on the surface of one side. Can be easily removed. It remains in very good condition. Very smooth surface separation/ crack has been repaired near one handle. This wonderful old trencher with its old aged patina and color will look great and is a perfect size for your harvest table or wherever you decide to use it. The bowl has a lovely patina and is in good condition for its age. There are a few imperfections on the wood as well as a crack in the bowl. The crack looks like it was repaired with a type of sap. Antique 19th Century Mid 1800's Large Primitive Wood Dough Bowl
This antique wood dough bowl was passed down to me by my mother in law. Who was born in 1928. This bowl belonged to her great grandmother. Since we can't trace the bowl's origin any earlier, we conservatively estimate that it was made around the year 1850. It is unmarked and was given to me at the same time as the wood rolling pin, which is listed separately. The bowl measures about 15" across top. About 20" from rim to rim on the underside, about 4" high and wood is about 1/2 an inch thick. Weight is around 3 lbs. I have no idea what type of wood was used in the making of this bowl, but I have included various close up photos to show the grain details. It is a beautiful bowl. The one and only condition issue is the crack in the center of the bottom. It measures about 1/16th of an inch in width and about 2" in ... morelength. The bowl will not efficiently hold liquid, but still works very well for its' original dough purposes, or of course, as a decorative antique item. This beautiful big vintage mixing bowl is signed McCoy made in the USA. It is in pink with tiny grey flecks and I believe is very rare. It has the number 12 on the bottom and measures about 11.5" wide at the mouth and is 6.5" tall. It is ribbed around the outside of the bowl and is the pottery type of bowl that I call a crock and in excellent condition without cracks or chips. I have tried to picture some tiny white specks where the glaze missed in production. It is gorgeous would be a great dough bowl and has seen many generations. I welcome all inquiries.

Beautiful antique wooden dough bowl from Munising. Painted with folk art. Girl standing near a lake. In researching this I learned that these bowls were made in Munising, MI between 19 11 and 1955. There is no date on the bowl. The Munising name is burned or carved into the bowl. Measures approx. 9" x 8 1/2" x 2. Colors are mainly blue. Some faded or worn paint. Some small bumps and textures on inside. Fantastic pat ina. Found this at a yard sale. Hope it find a great home: Please s ee pics for details. And thanks for looking:

Vintage Munising Primitive Dough Bowl Nice Turnings & Patina
This is a vintage Munising dough bowl. It has had a lot of use with plenty of use marks. But no abuse marks. It has a very attractive patina and has a nice primitive look. It measures roughly 10 3/4" in dia. as it is out of round and 2 3/4" tall. A great piece for a primitive kitchen! Antique As-Found Primitive Wooden Dough Bowl; Rustic 1800s Grungy Old Trencher
We have an honest to goodness barn-find to offer up for bids without reserve! It's a small. Wooden, antique dough bowl in very good, as-found condition. We left it just the way we found it, nothing has been done to it to enhance its appearance. This bowl has that classic, dry, untouched patina that's the result of wear and tear, generations of ground in dirt and grime, and remnants of materials that it once came in contact with. Delightfully grungy and primitive looking, this trencher measures about 18 inches long, 8 3/4 inches wide, and 3 1/4 inches high. There are no problems with woodworms, dry rot, or termites. It was hand hewn from a single piece of wood and has carved handles on the ends that add some folksy charm. Each of the handles is missing a small nub on one end and one has a short age split that isn't structurally ... moresignificant. Solid, strong, and rugged, it still a sturdy old bowl. It's just the right size for use as a centerpiece on a small table, you can change the look from time to time by displaying different items inside it. PRIMITIVE WOODEN BREAD DOUGH MIXING BOWL SOLID VINTAGE DECORATOR PIECE
For your consideration is very nice vintage wooden bread dough mixing bowl. It is sort of oblong measuring 13" x 11 7/8" and is about 4" deep. Very thick walled measures 1/2" thick. There are no markings on it. IT IS IN NICE ANTIQUE PRIMITIVE CONDITION! It does show wear inside the bowl as well as around the rim. I can picture it being used in an old fashioned kitchen and the marks on the edge are likely from a spoon being banged on the edge. IF ONLY IT COULD TALK OH. THE STORIES IT COULD TELL! There is a stain on one end which is also where there are three small cracks. The two longest ones measure about 1 1/8" long and the one shorter one is about 1/2" long. see photo) WOULD MAKE A GREAT DECORATION IN THE VINTAGE KITCHEN.
