Should someone choose to make it open wider, i have set of slides that will open to 10 feet i think that i will give to the buyer. at any rate, this is a very well done quartersawn oak table. as you see it has a very finely carved center leg that matches the four support legs, 2 each on either end that are connected by a very nice carved stretcher. the table is 48 inches by 48 inches when closed and without leaves. i bought this table about 8 years ago and paid what i am starting it for. i have over 20 dining tables and actually only need one, therefore i suppose as my daughter says dispose of some stuff before i kick the bucket. this is a very well constructed table that is level, rolls well, and is in wonderful condition. when i bought it there were no leaves with it, so i made some leaves out of leaves i had and it will open to six feet with them in place. should someone need extra leaves or want to make more, i have several here and there and could probably part with some of them if i can figure out for sure i am not giving away leaves that go with another table. of the many 48 inch tables i have and have had, i do not recall a nicer or better put together table of its size. the legs are great to say the least. it may be picked up at my home or shipped at the buyer's expense. a very nice table for the right person should they see it on ebay. good luck. ps. i just took a look at the pictures i posted. i did not realize the table was so dirty and dusty. the leaves have been under a sideboard for years. anyway, sorry about that, it will dust off and clean up very well. one of the perks of getting older is that you don't see all the dirt and dust.

Set of 2 hand-carved end panels made out of quarter-sawn white oak carved in highly decorative Victorian pattern These fine pieces of woodwork were originally part of a pipe organ keydesk. But they can find application as accent or conversation pieces anywhere that fine handcrafted joinery is loved and appreciated. These are over 100 years old and were carved out of quarter-sawn white oak. These highly decorative mirror-image pieces of woodwork will serve well as rugged shelf brackets, desk end panels or any other application where two pieces meet at right angles and need reinforcement or the illusion of strength. This is a superb 19thc Black Forest oak carved pediment with a fine figure of a running stag with orig amber glass eye to top of pediment. A most unusual and very decorative piece. The attention to carved detail on this pediment is excellent with all carving done in relief. Beneath running stag the pediment is carved as a long branch with oak leaves decorating. Being offered for sale is this superb English Victorian Pollard Oak Fancy Carved Side Cabinet/ Nightstand circa 1880. This splendid 19th century cabinet is an excellent size allowing it to be used in most any room of your home. This cabinet is executed in the rare and highly sought after Pollard oak. Pollard oak is a cultivated variety of oak grown in sections of Europe for its particular figure of grain. The small limbs of this tree are cut into rounded heads close to the tree and as the tree grows larger the stunted heads are included in the wood growth. Then when the tree is harvested for lumber these heads produce burl or knots which form very unusual grain figures in the wood which are highly sought after by high end furniture makers. This process is a slow one in which it takes many. Many generations for a tree to develop the the beautiful ... moregrain as seen in this cabinet in the pictures. This auction is for a wonderful old heavily carved oak bench from Scotland. It's a head turning doll. There is lot's& lots of carving on this bench. The patina is a beautiful dark oak. It's stable. Sturdy and quite heavy. It's put together with wooden"pegs" with a few of the older"flathead screws" and a few extra nails added from over the years. The craftsmanship on both the carving and the making of this bench is just wonderful, we seldom see items this old, this well made and still in good condition at anywhere what I would call a reasonable or affordable price. Antique 1870s BLACK FOREST Relief Carved Eagle Top Wood Frame OAK WALL MIRROR
I have up for sale a rare and beautiful vintage circa 1860s- 1880s Black Forest hand carved Hanging Wall Mirror. I believe that the frame is made of Oak- its relief carved with a bird. Possibly an Eagle on top. The bird has a glass eye and the talons are fixed on to a log. It measures approx 26-1/2" measured from the tip of the wing to the bottom of the vertical section of the frame,its approx 17-1/4" wide. The bird itself protrudes outward just over 4" The glass mirror itself measures approx 16-1/4" x 9" The frame is in very nice estate fresh as found condition. I am quite sure that the finish is the old original. Regardless it looks wonderful. It has a nice warm patina and recessed areas have darker coloration. Overall the frame is in Great Condition- other than some wear/small chip to the end tip of the birds beak ... morethe wood is in fantastic shape. Wear is light, the frame was well taken care of. The glass mirror is excellent- no silvering issues- no damages. I see that the bird is attached with 2 screws in the back. When I package it. I will take if off and package it separately. Elliot bracket clock that sets onto a pedestal that makes it looks like a grandfather clock with 8 bells and 4 small gongs and one large gong. It has both the Withington and Westminster chimes, the clock case is made of tiger oak and is beautifully carved top and front, the pedestal base in also made of tiger oak with raised paneled sides and front, both the clock case and pedestal have a reeded column on the front corners with brass fitting on the ends of the ones on the clock, the side grills are made of pierced brass with cloth covering on the inside but the cloth has mostly deter iorated. The dial in marked Elliot London and the movement is marked J.J. Elliot 5 Percival St. London England 2960 and to the right of the mark is H&H[Harris& Harrington] they were the sole ... moreagents to the trade for J.J. Elliot in the U.S. and made many of the cases for there movements. Both the clock case and the pedestal appear to be made of A merican golden oak. It is approx. 80" total height, the clock is 22 1/2" high and 10 1/2" by 13 1/2" at the base, the pedestal is approx. 58" tall and 12 1/2" by 18" at the base[the largest spot] The clock weighs approx. 46 lbs. and the pedestal weighs approx. 51 lbs. I just picked this from a private estate in Mass. CONDITION: Super clean original untouched golden finish! the clock runs just fine but I haven't been able to figure out how to make it strike. POSTAGE AND PACKAGING CHARGES Please consider that I have to drive around looking for boxes and I have to buy all the packing materials. I don't make a profit on the P& P. In fact, I often underestimate it and then have to bear the loss myself- I sell many breakable items and pack them really well. But the packing materials cost money and in addition I have to drive to the post office and pay for parking! Security: Almost all of my items are one-offs so can't be replaced or repeated. Therefore please consider how much you value the item you have just bought. I usually quote recorded delivery for added safety. Should you wish to have a cheaper postage please let me know!
