Up for auction is a very nice and very detailed. Hand carved oval shaped black forest style wall hunting plaque; carved to simulate tree branches with oak leaves and acorns. The plaque is stained a nice rich walnut brown and has small wild boars carved on each side of the shield. There are two holes drilled in the center of the plaque from a previous mount. This is one of the best carved hunting plaques that I have ever seen! This will make a great addition to someone’s collection or a nice plaque for someone to mount their own trophy on. Amazing Miniature Spoon Carved Eastlake Folk/Tramp Art Cupboard Oak & Pine
Miniature Eastlake Cupboard Extraordinary Craftsmanship& Attention To Detail As dealers. Every once and a while we come across something that we really want to keep; this is one of those items. It is quite honestly a work of art. I couldn't even guess how many hours of love went into this perfectly scaled and highly detailed miniature tall cupboard. This amazing cabinet is only 17 1/4" tall x 10 5/8" wide x 5" deep. The front and doors appear to be either oak or chestnut with the top. Bottom, sides and back appearing to be pine. It looks and smells to me like it is in original finish. No linseed oil or furniture polish. If you have much experience with antique furniture, you know what I mean. It has that old furniture smell. The back is single piece; the sides and 4 piece front are fitted into slots like floating panel ... moredoors. It is constructed just like a full sized cupboard would be. All of the wood is hand planed. The spindles are either hand turned or carved, the hardware is hand made from wire and all of the details are hand carved or impressed. One spindle is missing from one door as seen, and it has a couple of white paint dots on one door; otherwise truely excellent condition. I see no restoration repairs; it is solid and clean. No splits or cracks but the top is slightly bowed, just like a full sized one that is showing it's age. It has a very few tiny wire brad nails in it. So I would guess it is no earlier than 1880 and no later than perhaps 1910. Note that the knob on the door has the same impressed design as the centers of the"flowers" on the doors. We’ll tell the person who buys this chair which small piece it was, but you’d never find it on your own. The comfortable chair top sits on a spring platform of solid oak and rocks back and forth while the base stays in place. It’s oversized, and someone has redone the seat in a lovely wine colored fabric that is in outstanding condition. The pictures probably won’t do it justice. The overall size of this chair is 24 inches across the arms on the outside, 19.5 inches deep from back to front, 21 inches high to the top of the fancy scrolled art nouveau backsplash, 39 inches high on the chair back, 26 inches high to the arms, and 17 inches high to the seat. This auction is for an antique Victorian style carved oak throne chair. The back is very finely carved with what we believe to be a North Wind God or old man winter face. As you can see. It is in need of being reupholstered. This was owned by a family member for many years. He had bought it at an estate sale and was told it had been in the family for years and years. Carved Footed Wooden Bowl 1909 Child Bear Oak Leaf Motif
There is a boy and his bear drawn in the bottom of this hand carved wooden bowl. They are walking hand and hand with their back facing and look very much like Winnie the Pooh and Christopher Robin. But, in fact, the bowl predates the story. The sides are carved with an oak leaf and acorn design, and there are three round feet. On the bottom it says"Many Birthdays to You" The M is faded. The bowl has some discoloration, and a small amount of wear. It is very lightweight, and measures about 7 and one half inches across and about 3 and three quarters inches high. Here is a really cool French 19th century Breton solid oak table with a slightly oval top with gadrooned carved edge over an inset apron and mounted on a superbly carved scroll leg quadrupled base. The base has various fruits and lots of acanthus leaves and C scrolls of the period which may be as early as 1860. Width = 45" Length = 41" closed) Length = 83 1/2" open) there are no leaves. However, leaves could be easily made) Height = 28 1/2" When pulled open. There are four solid turned legs which drop down to support the table ends. When the table is closed, these legs are just tucked up underneath the table along with the slide mechanism. We are delighted to offer to the market this stunning Monk's chair/metamorphic chair table. This piece dates to the early 1900's. We do not know the maker and any tage were long ago removed. Made from solid oak. This chair is a piece of art as well as a functional conversation piece. The back of the chair slides upward and flat across the arms to transform this piece into a functional table. The diameter across the top of the table is 36" It has a height of 29" The back side of the table which serves as the chair back has finely detailed carving representing a gothic lion head. The face has finely detailed teeth and whiskers. The inset eyes are made from glass and they glow when the light hits them just right. Quite a fascinating design. The ornate carved and scrolled arms have spindles flanking a heavy center pieces. The ... morefront of the chair has turned columns leading down to the seat frame box. Below the frame there is a section section boasting turned legs and straight mission style stretchers. The legs sit on the original brass casters. The arms have a height of 28" to the top of the scrolled area. The chair has a width of 22 7/16" from the outside edges of the arms and 18.5" from the inside edges of the arms. The depth at the center front to the back at the table is 23.75" The seat height is 15" to the wood edge and 20" to the top of the cushion. The cushion is not original to this piece and it is clear that someone did a poor recovery on it. There is some light soiling to the fabric and it is overhanging in some areas. The chair base has some very light surface scratches that are age and use appropriate. The table top also has some light scratches and divets from age and use. Overall the piece is in great condition and is absolutely stunning to look at. This is a previously owned item and it is being sold as shown.
