This hand carved wooden figure is approximately 7 1/4" tall. Bottom marked made in Italy. Very nice high quality item with excellent details. Made by an expert carver and artist. Possibly a well known collectible maker but I don't know how to confirm that. Appears to be an Anri. Sold as is- It looks great to me but I haven't closely examined it for any flaws. Vintage Restored Chalet Hubert Herr Black Forest Cuckoo Clock - Wood Figures!
Up for auction. We have a unique restored chalet style vintage Hubert Herr Black Forest German cuckoo clock. Not sure of the date of manufacture. But it looks quite old. This clock has a nice solid wood chalet roof and frame. And two carved wood colorful characters of a man and a woman in German period costume. Are they just talking? Arguing? You decide. The cuckoo calls the hour and half hour on a one day movement. We ultrasonically cleaned and oiled the movement. Refinished the case and roof, replaced the bellows, cleaned the chains, made a new back for it, replaced the pendulum, and adjusted the gong. We've tested it in our home for a week and it runs perfectly. Cuckoos, and keeps excellent time. The clock is complete with chains. Two pine cone weights, and a pendulum. It looks awesome. The overall size of the holder is 1 7/8" x 3 5/8" to the bottom of the hinge. The inside area where the watch rests measures approx. 36mm and it is about 13mm deep. The side design is grooved with the top having a hand carved floral motif. The top is incised with the words"St. Moritz" This appears to be in excellent condition with the hinge working well. The small tab on the lid allows for complete closure. There is wear to the blue velvet lining consistent ... morewith age which I think is around 1900. Antique Hand Carved & Hand Painted Black Forest Figurine Wood
I picked this item up at an estate sale this weekend. I'm not sure what the use of it is but it is obviously a Black Forest hand carved and painted figurine of a man and woman or girl and boy under a very colorful umbrella. There is a string to hang it with and it was found in the Christmas ornaments there. The stick that holds the top and bottom together in broken but is complete and can be glued back together. There is a white thread tied around the couples necks that does not appear to do anything at all. On the bottom there are pine cone needles glued on as if the item was part or the actual top to a full wreath. The colors are vibrant and the heads turn. The size is 6" x 3.5" x 1" There are no markings.

Tanned face, red tongue, and brown"body" The carver put a great amount of deatil into his features for his eyes, eye brows, and lips; very life-like. His jaw is hinged and when open displays his teeth and tongue. He apparently was used to crack nuts, so are some signs of loving wear. I have done my best to describe him. This is an antique Black Forest style carved wood wall-mounted group of two birds perched on a water trough with a third bird flying nearby. The trough is 8 x 3 x 3 inches and the birds are approx. 5 1/2 inches high. I believe that the third bird is hung above the other two but am not sure. It does match with the other two. DESCRIPTION For sale is an absolutely amazing nativity stable in excellent. Very sturdy condition. I cannot find any markings but it looks like it is from the Black Forest region of Germany. It is undoubtedly handmade and could very well have been carried over here by a German immigrant years ago which would account for its not being marked. It would accommodate a very large set of nativity figures. The last picture shows it with 2 figures which measure 5 1/2" high just to give an idea of scale. It measures 12 ¼” high. 17 ½” wide at the base(19 ½” at the roof) and 10” deep at the base. It comes with a 17 ½” by 7 ½” apron and 2 pieces of fencing. Each piece of fence is 9” x 6 ½” x 2 ¾” high. Here we start with a large vintage& very nice looking black forest cuckoo clock in fantastic working condition made in Germany. I am not sure what model this clock is but it has on the brass mechanism"REGULA" also"PENDELL 26.5cm" I believe this cuckoo clock was made in the late 1970's or early 1980's era? This cuckoo clock is in nice condition with some light ware on the face& the crest is in very nice condition but had been repaired sometime in it's past& that repair is not very noticeable as I hope my pictures will show. The two tone color finish on this clock looks great& it presents itself extremely well. The hands& roman numeral numbers& black face look very nice. I am selling this S-T-U-N-N-I-N-G vintage BLACK FOREST wall clock from Germany. In full Bronze/ Wood, HAVING lots of HANDPAINTED decorations, in an amazing condition! Which is rather uncommon for a black forest clock. The general cosmetic condition can be captured in one word: SUPERB! Just take a look at the movement on photo 10! The materials and the shape make this piece a one of a kind clock. The body has lots of bronze features. Such as the pillars, side ornaments and other parts in a beautiful cosmetic condition, like new! T he nicely shaped hands are made of brass. The time is shown in Roman numbers. By means of 12 CART OUCHES. These carthoushes are made of METAL. ... moreHaving a shining brass edge around them. An extra feature is that there are 2. Round shaped, side windows, giving you a view at the movement. These side windows are not made of flat. Clear glass, but IN the glass, there are decorations and the glass is couloured yellow-ish! The wooden body comes with LOTS of floral. Handpainted decorations, in front and on the sides, which are all intact. These decorations are clear and colourful. Creating a cosmetic balance. You even find floral decorations on the bottom of this masterpiece. At the highest part. There is carved a bird INTO the wood, which has been painted. The movement functions 100% Runs for 8 days on one winding session and h as a nice. Quiet ticking. To finish the cosmetic high standard. The brass pendulum shines like new. Of course this clock is supplied with a key. Remark:This object is not new; expectable time related. Minor cosmetic defects might occur. This is a vintage Black Forest cuckoo clock made in Germany by Hubert Herr. Recently purchased at an estate sale. I am unsure of it's age. I do not know if it works and It does not come with pinecone weights. It measures 15" X 10" X 6" not including the pendulum. Once restored, it will make a nice addition to any collection. For auction on Ebay with no reserve is this lovely rare C1890 carved musical Black Forest Marriott doll in the form a dancing bear. You spin the little bear round in an anti clockwise motion& as the little bear dances round the musical movement in the barrel plays a tune. The Marriott doll measures approximately just slightly under 7 3/4 inches- 19.5 cm in total in length The little carved dancing bear to the top measures approximately 5.2 cm in length. Sticker on the side says"Die Muhle im Schwarzwald Holzhackerbub'n Marsch 3695-96 Swiss Musical Movement" It measures about 11 inches tall. 12 inches wide and a little over 7 inches deep. It is in good shape, but does have some minor roof damage. I was able to replace the bellows and oil the movement. It still keeps time and cuckoos. However, there is a small gear that is cracked. This cracked gear prevents the music box and dancing people from working. Perhaps a more experienced person can fix this, but I cannot. Comes complete with 3"375 SCH" pine cone weights. The clock is designed to look like a mountain chalet home like some you still see in the Black Forest. The case is made of wood and shows little ... moresigns of use. There is wooden trim on the eaves in front, wooden timbers too, and simulated boulders on the roof that are like the original ones designed to keep the roof on during inclement weather. There are wooden shutters on the windows and wooden flower boxes under each extending part way down the sides as well. Each has colorful flora as well. The deck extends down both sides and in front too. There is a carved wooden man to the left, a stack of logs next to him, a white boulder, and a water well too. The front is lavished with several hand painted colorful flowers; gorgeous clock! The dial has woodtone backdrop and features white Roman numerals to mark the hours and fancy matching hands to point out the time. The phrase, Made in Germany" appears in small block letters near the dial. The clock has a fitted wood back and is secured with a metal latch. The door removes to allow access to the precision made movement embossed with the name, Engstler. This clock is very entertaining too! Up for bids is this Antique Late 19thC German Black Forest Carved Wood Rooster Barometer Thermometer. This piece was made in Germany during the late 19thC. The case is carved of hard wood and and depicts leaves and above the barometer is a rooster which stands in front of a fence. Above the thermometer is a large flower blossom. The thermometer is made of milk glass. The barometer uses the German language. I am not quite sure if the barometer is working because but I do not see any broken or missing pieces. I do not believe that the thermometer is measuring properly. The case is in great condition with no breaks or repairs and still retains its orginal dark finish. This piece stands 23 1/8" in height. 12" in width, and is 2 1/2" in depth. TWO 2 VINTAGE BLACK FOREST WOOD RUSTIC PICTURE FRAMES PRIMITIVE CARVED CROSS END
When it hits ROCK BOTTOM. I rescue. Item Number: 978 T WO(2) VERY OLD BLACK FOREST STYLE RUSTIC PRIMITIVE CARVED WOOD PICTURE FRAMES with GLASS. A wonderful pair of picture frames. All carved and so rustic looking! Two different sizes, one glass opening is 11-3/4" x 9-1/2" and the larger one is 13-3/4" x 9-3/4" glass opening size. This is the measurement from outside edge of gold rim all around the frame. Of course you could use a mat in them and mat them down to your 8 x 10's or 5 x 7's. Dark rustic patina. Very nicely carved old wood. Leaves carved also, there are some pieces broken off and missing of the leaves layered on the wood panels. Some of the leaves has a missing point or two. For me, the missing part is hard to notice, everything just"fits" in nicely, it works as it is. Check out all the photos ... moreas I show them very clearly. Lots of detail in the wood panels, intricately carved with leaves on corners of frames where they cross. Comes with glass and some cardboard backing under the back panel. Bent nails(the old tried and true bent nail method! hold on the back panel loosely, everything is a bit wobbly. I assume this is all original, has features and qualities of old glass. Wires across middle appear original, attached on each side of frame. Examine all the photos. These are the exact frames you are bidding on, and ask any questions before bidding if you are not sure of something.
