HUBERT HERR BLACK FOREST MOVING BIRDS AND STAG HEAD CUCKOO CLOCK
You are bidding on new cuckoo clock that I have listed as used. This one is a Hubert Herr moving birds stag head cuckoo clock. This clock has never been used. You will see that the very top corner of this clock has some damage that some glue and clamps would repair. The oak leaves that attach to the roof line of this clock would completely cover over this area then the stag head is attached with a screw. Take a look at the pictures and you will also see the different pieces that attached. The weights on this cuckoo clock are pretty heavy as you will notice when you pick the box up. When I got this 20 years ago(at a auction) they said it was a antique I know it's old by the way the wood has turned so dark.I removed the head to clean it easier and the wood under it is still a lot lighter I would say it was made in early 1900. I beleive the head is a red stag deer by the way the antlers look(it.S not a white tail) And that's what they called it at the auction(antique red stag deer) It's 16.5"long 10.75"wide at longest point and 14"across the front. This clock is a beautiful antique and very rare to find one in such nice condition and made of solid wood and its great carving detail. This clock has an enormous Stagg Head with the antlers measuring 9 1/2 inches long. This clock has amazing hand carved leaves along with its curving branches. This clock shows off its rich natural beautiful colors of golden reddish browns. This clock has 1 big old flappy winged cuckoo bird and 1 big old flappy winged quail bird. This clock has its antique fancy hand carved bone hands. This clock is amazingly over 2 feet tall. Wonderful carved red stag wall mount hanging is antique from an old estate. Absolutely done in the Black Forest style of wood/carving but unsure as to its origins: Switzerland.Germany, U.S? This red stag has 14 point antlers. Most of these old hand carvings were unmarked. Very beautiful primitive piece adds its own ambiance to any decorating space. Measures 13" top to bottom& sticks out of the wall 14" with the antlers. Antlers were carved& attached separately due to the fact it would take a HUGE piece of wood to carve in 1 piece.

On Jun-22-14 at 06:45:47 PDT. Seller added the following information: The small noted chip in wood at the base is on the back and cannot be seen when the shelf is hanging. Additional Descriptions: The glued area has slowly been more visible over the year and when polishing for photo's. It appears the glue can be stained, but I did not want to touch anything up, per it's original condition. No paint, stains or treatments have been applied to this item, only Pledge wood polish to remove the dust over 15 years.

VINTAGE GERMAN BLACK FOREST CUCKOO CLOCK DEER HEAD. HUNTER MOTIF, vintage carved wooden German cuckoo clock. Comes complete with 3 weights& pendulum. Features beautifully carved deer head with two rifles and a bird& rabbit. The animals all have eyes that are either glass or plastic.there is a group of 4 edilweiss dancers that rotate on the top. Black Forest Carved Linden Wood Head bottle Stopper Cane Handle
This auction is for a beautifully carved Linden Wood head. Either from Tyrol or the Black Forest. This dapper turn of the century gentleman is exquisitely detailed. He wares a alpine hat and a well groomed mustache. His fine facial details with high cheek bones and square jaw make him rather handsome. I'm not quite sure what his purpose is. Having several other carvings similar to these it may have been either a bottle stopper or a walking stick handle. I any case he is stunning and a wonderful addition to any collection. VINTAGE WALNUT BLACK FOREST CARVED DEER HEAD w/ ANTLERS
This is a carved Black Forest style walnut deer head with antlers we found when cleaning out an estate in Maine recently. It measures aprox. 4 1/2" wide across the ears. 5 1/2" high and the back where it would mount is 1 3/4" wide x 2 1/2" high. The antlers are removable, it is in good condition overall. Handsome Large Antique Wooden Black Forest Boars Head Inkwell c.1890~Hand Carved
Here we offer an Antique Inkwell with a Hand Carved Boars Head for the main decorative Inkwell. Each side has two tree trunk shape wells. the Inkwell measures 11 3/4" wide by 7 3/4" in depth. The Boars head has bone tusks& hand painted glass eyes. We are looking for a small brass hinge that is missing to have the head mounted back on the inkwell. The two side wells have milk glass inserts still intact. The one in the middle is missing. There is a signiture carved in roman numerals under the area where the Boars Head mounts. The finish on the stand is all original in a ebonized black. the entire top is carved to look like tree bark. We are not sure of the origin of the Inkwell stand. It has an overall size of about 4 x 3.5inches. Max depth of about 0.75inches. Condition: Considering the age. The overall condition is excellent with no major blemishes except minor chipping. These are a stunning pair of oak wooden carved corbels of the heads of males wearing crowns of which: During our research we have been informed they certainly date from the 17th century. Date about c1680. Of a Black Forest origin. In anoak. Superb intricate carvings of the corbels of the heads of the male figures. Both portrayed wearing crowns. Two pieces of oak joined together then relief carved. Both have been painted in a grey which has been done we believe during the later period of the 19th century. Superb portrayals of the male heads. Facial portrayals with the beards and heavy moustaches. Each has an overall size to the rears of about 6.75 x 4inches. Max overall heights of about 7.5inches. Max depths of about 4inches.
