I believe you are looking at a japanese wooden serving tray.It has a sterling silver inlay.Probably made around the early 1800's I'm geussing but I don't know for sure because I could not find much research on it.Thank's for looking.

Antique 10" Hamar Norway Silver Tray & 4 Wooden Grooved Butter/Cheese Paddles
Antique 10" Hamar Norway silver tray and 4 grooved wooden butter/cheese paddles-one pair from France. Tray says Domkirkeruinene Hamar which is translated as main church/head church and the picture is of the Double Cathedral in Hamar. Norway. Needs to be cleaned with silver polish and had sticker on back removed which left an outline. Also has a few small hairline scratches from use. Don't know the age but most items from this estate were dated from the 1940's-60's-could also be an heirloom from earlier. Small 9 inch by 2.25 inch paddles have"France" etched into back-a little flour still clinging to grooves at the top. Owner's identification stickers were removed and left a little residue. The tray base is made of very thin wood with a small lip around the outer edge to keep the mirror base secure. It has four ball and claw feet and a green baize lining. 4 Antique Wood Wooden Finger Jointed Bin Tray Shadow Cutlery Cigar Box
This auction is for a mixed lot of four different wooden bins and boxes. There is a tray with a small compartment at the end. It measures about 13" x 7" with a 2" x 5" compartment. The one with the angled sides used to be a cutlery box, but the center handle is missing and it is now just a tray. It measures about 7 1/2" x 11 1/2" with a pressed wood design. The small tray has two small holes in the top and was once used as a drawer. Last, there is a cedar cigar box from Carabana Cigars The top has come loose and there are some stains inside the bottom, but it is still in solid, strong condition. All have finger jointed construction except fot the cutlery carrier. Great for shadow boxes. All four for one amount, low minimum bid!

Antique Chicago Municipal Navy Pier tray Wood Wooden etched medallion silver ?
This is a tray that looks to be hand carved wood depicting the Municipal Pier in Chicago. It is pre 1927 as that is the year the name was changed to The Navy Pier in honor of the Navy men of World War I. It looks like the etched oval under glass is silver but I could be wrong. I dare not take it apart. There are a couple small chips to the edges of the wood in places. The glass is dirty and there is dust and light debris under it. The woman who owned it put brown contact paper on the back to protect her walls or furniture. Everything in her house had it on it; such as her jewelry boxes and other hanging pictures) I can feel that the wood underneath is still there. The handles have a little give and I think it was made that way. They are beveled; if that is the word. I wish I could be more definitive but I don't know the correct terminology ... morefor such a piece. I know that it is superb despite the few flaws. Measures about: 17" by 11" by 1.25" The handles extend out about 1.5" on either side. I think this is historical to the United States and Chicago. Research I did turns up nothing similar at all. In the proper hands. I think it could be easily restored to its original beauty. It is breathtaking in my opinion. The etching is just fabulous on the medallion part not to mention the cut-outs in the interior wood border. Pet and smoke friendly here. If shipping less. Difference always refunded. very old distressed wooden tray has seen a lot of life. The bottom as you can see in photo has faired quite well with minor marks. There are a couple of minor nicks to edge of tray. The chequered pattern is still clear to see but worn in places. I hope you can see this on the phot. It looks more distressed than it ought to. Weighs 240 gms unpackaged.

Very possibly antique, tray that appears to be made of mahogany wood, with a criss-cross overlapping pattern of other inlaid woods on the top of the tray. It appears to be handmade in a folk art style, probably from the United States. My guess as to age would be late early to mid-20th century, although it could be older than that. This tray is in very good used condition. With only some minor scratches on the wood. It measures 9-3/4" X 9-3/4" square. What a find! Perfect serving tray for the hunt toddies! This tray has some considerable age to it and does show signs of wear. There are a few of the studs from the horse shoe part of the design missing and a crack to the tray itself. All that taken into consideration. It does not detract from this fabulous piece wich can still be used as for its original functions or purely as decoration. The handles are made of small childs stirrups. Antique wooden carved handle cutlery tray or caddy
Up for your consideration is a fine antique cutlery tray with carved handle. This utilitarian box would enhance any collection or look just perfect displaying a few treasured pieces of sterling flatware. I am unsure of species of wood. Perhaps walnut or oak. There is a pencil marking on the bottom which seems to indicate initials(CI) above a line and the number 75 below the line. The measurements of this tray are as follows: 13.5" long 8" wide 2.25" high 3.5" from bottom of tray to top of carved handle. This beautiful antique tray has tiny square nails and shows great craftsmanship. There is one flaw: there is a crack in one of the side panels at the bottom. see last picture) I almost did not notice it at first.I would call it the start of a break. In other words, if I were not careful, I might catch the bottom and the ... morecrack would become a broken piece. I won't attempt a repair, although I'm sure that a few dots of the correct type of glue would easily repair the crack. It runs along the grain of the wood, so once properly glued the repair may not be visible. I found this piece in a house built in the early 1800's that is being torn down. I've only cleaned it lightly with Murphy's Oil soap. I think this must have been hand carved. As the oval in the handle is ever so slightly off. I've enjoyed gazing at this for a few months, and now I hope that it finds a good home, hopefully with someone who may collect these, or knows more about them.

The Globe Files Company from Cincinnati was founded in 1882. In 1899. It purchased the Wenicke Company, founded in 1893) to form the Globe-Wernicke Company of Cincinnati. This company is best known for their high end Bookcases, Desks and other office Furniture. I was lucky enough to find one of their document trays at an Estate Auction, this past week and would like to pass it on to you. I wish I had enough room on my desk for it, but sadly, I don't. This wooden tray measures approximately 15" X 10" X 2 1/2" It is in surprisingly good shape for its age. The sticker is intact and their are few slight scratches or marks on it. We also noticed what looks like a burn mark(I'm not sure how else to describe it) and a split in the wood on one leg. Antique Wood/ Wooden Tray with Compartments
Antique Primitive Wood/ Wooden Tray with Compartments. It is about 10 3/4" long. 7 3/4" wide and 1 1/2" high. There are 9 small compartments, 2 medium compartments and 1 large compartment. Overall in excellent condition for its age. There is a crack on the bottom(see 4th photo) but otherwise, no major damage. I'm not sure where this was used, perhaps it was a tray in a writing, sewing or jewelry box at one point. Nice primitive piece. Shipping is on Saturdays and is $7 to anywhere within the USA.
