This hand-turned primitive wooden bowl is gorgeous. It is out of round by as much as three quarters of an inch. It is about 10 5/8 inches at its widest and about 9 7/8 inches at its thinnest. The inside of the bowl has a spattering of dark green spots of an unknown origin. They have stained the woods and appear to lie under the rest of the patina. For your consideration: A great Antique Primitive Large Dough Bowl Out of Round Munising Wooden Bowl: Antique. Primitive appearance and heavily used. Cuts, stains and bruises too numerous to mention. Perfectly wonderful primitive patina. Heavy cut marks and grease stains everywhere. A Great Primitive bowl! This is a remarkable large primitive bowl. With stains appearing both on the inside and the outside. In spite of its heavily used condition, it has no splits, cracks or weakness anywhere. Aside from the many discolorations and grease stains, these defects(which, to my eye, give the bowl great primitive character) are mainly chop marks, of which there are many covering the inside of the bowl. The outside, too, has a multitude of wear and tear, and the rim of the bowl has some shaved-looking areas all around. These all attest to its history ... moreand age, and serve to give it its great primitive look. This bowl will appeal to those seeking the well-worn beauty and character of a true primitive piece. But its minor antique flaws obviously are too many to itemize in great detail. Please study all of the photos. I have tried to capture as much detail as possible in my photos. Ask any questions you may have prior to end of auction, and I will gladly furnish any additional information. I don't know the bowl's exact age, but this is a signed Munising bowl, so the age would be somewhere from 1900 to the mid 1900s. I am not sure of the wood type that this bowl is made from, but it seems a very solid hardwood, perhaps maple. This bowl is quite large and heavy, weighing over 2 lbs without packaging. The dimensions are 13 1/4" wide one way and 12 1/4" across in the other, from age and shrinkage. It is approximately 4" deep. When I went through the boarded up farm house I ventured up into the attic. Yes I am brave! The first thing I saw when I reached the top was this absolutely Huge wooden dough bowl. I have never see another like it. All I did was wipe it out a bit but you will have to clean it. You are bidding on an antique turned dough bowl in its original color and form. Very strong turning marks on the exterior and interior of the bowl. The rim is 3/4 inches. The bowl is out of round and measures 17.5 inches across the top. There is a crack in the bowl and it looks like someone tried to repair it with some small nails. Also there appears to be some softening in the wood around one of the dark circles on the outside of the bowl. I'm assuming it was put on something and it stained and softened the wood and caused it to crack and break around the stain. ... moreThe bowl crack is approx 8 inches. Listing is for a vintage dough trencher bowl on 4 lags. Age unknown to me. Measures 20 3/4" long, 13 1/4" wide at center top, and stands 19" in height around the rim, bowl is about 3 3/4" deep at center. Bottom of trough is 14 3/4" up from the floor. Unknown type of wood to me One corner shows a small rim chip and a couple of small cracks and possibly a wood putty repair to the inside( does not show outside) this is above the whitish 3 3/4" long feelable scratch shown in the 6th photo. Opposite corner has a large chip that is loose, but somewhat held in place with a nail that is partially hidden, see the top of 2nd photo and last photo. Selling my very very large primitive antique dough bowl/ trencher! This is ONE piece of wood. No serious cracks or repairs! It is hard to find them in this absolutely excellent shape. PRIMITIVE 1800s to EARLY 1900s HAND CARVED TURNED WOOD WOODEN DOUGH BOWL ANTIQUE
Offered is this original primitive hand turned wooden kitchenware bowl. This was originally round but has shrunk to an oval shape measuring 17 1/4 inches long by 16 1/4 inches wide and also has a wavy rim standing 4 7/8 to 5 3/8 inches tall. Around its rim is carved a thick decorative band. Some of the trees bark was left on the side. A check. Stretching half way across the bowl shows remnants of an old staple repair. The staple however is long gone. There is no shellac, varnish or finish of any kind.

Antique Vintage Munising 11 3/16" x 10 5/8" WOOD MIXING BOWL Up for bid is this Vintage Wooden Dough Bread Bowl. It is SIGNED: Munising 2nd on the bottom and was Made in MUNISING MICHIGAN. The Factory has been closed since 1955. This is one of the Larger bowls and is only slightly out of round. It measures approx. 11 3/16 in. x 10 5/8 in. 3 in. Deep(Tall) It is marked 2nd and shows a small knot mark on the inside and outside of the bowl(see photos) The knot in no way affects or affected the use of the bowl. This bowl is hand-painted and outside is treated with what I am assuming to be polyurethane the inside is raw(not oiled or treated) with some watermarks which should easily clean up with steel wool. Antique 11" Primitive Wooden Trencher Dough Bowl with Butter Paddle
These are pieces that have been in my family since I was a little girl.maybe longer but its time to share my heirlooms with other that will appreciate them. My children unfortunately do not share these tastes& I'd hate to find out they end up using them as firewood! This set does have signs of wear& the bowl has a small separating crack in it. But as a piece of decoration, I think it gives it character. The spoon I think has a couple hairline cracks where the handle meets the base.at least I think they are. Thanks for viewing!

Four Vintage And Antique Wooden Bowls- Dough Bowl, Munising and Mort N. Marton
I purchased these bowls a while back. The lady I got them from said that they had come out of an house up north. The dough is the largest at 14.5 x 13.5. The next bowl is marked Munising and is 11x 10. The next bowl is 10x 9.25. The last one is 8.75 x 8. I do not know the exact age on these. I think that the Munising and Mort are possibly mid-century. But not sure. Please view all pics for details. The bowls are very rustic. The dough bowl has cracks and the Munising bowl has a partially drilled hole on one side-does not go all the way through. The other unmarked bowl had been broken and glued back. The Mort bowl looks like tag says it is from Canadian birch. This bowl has some finish loss inside. The bowl is hand turned out of one piece of maple wood and is slightly out of round with an uneven top. Both typical of hand made dough bowls. The bowl has a turned top rim and flat foot underside so it will sit flat. It looks like the bowl was originally painted with the apple green paint when made and then, later, painted with the blue. The blue paint is old blue color and looks to be most likely from the late 1800s or very early 1900s. The blue paint has worn of in some places, leaving the original apple green to show. You are viewing a wonderful antique wooden trencher/dough bowl in beautiful. Rustic condition with great patina. The dough bowl is hand hewn out of a solid piece of what I believe to be pine. This antique utilitarian bowl has the wear appropriate for its age and function and obviously served its owner(s) very well. There is a chip to the wood on one end as well as a very small notch on one side(see pictures) There are no cracks or breaks. Ancient looking. Beautiful, old, rustic, primitive, heavy(8 pounds 2 ounce) hand hewn wood bowl with signs of character, use and age such as chop marks, cracks, knots and smooth worn edges and sides. Approximate dimensions are width 13" length is 21" height is 7" inside depth is 6" and 2.5" at the low end. The bowls sides follow the contour of the original log and there is a slight curve. At some point in it's life it was sealed and/or waxed and a metal piece was added to mend the largest crack in the bowl. My wife purchased this bowl in"as is" condition in an antique shop years ago and was told by the dealer that"it came from France" We have no documentation to prove that claim. Please see the photos.

This stunning round bowl was hand carved from one piece of wood. The bowl is applied to three spindle legs which were turned on a lathe. The bottom of the legs have a round ball and or an acorn design. The bowl has a lovely patina and is in good condition for its age. There are a few imperfections to the wood as well as a crack in the bowl. The crack looks like it was repaired with a type of sap. This by know means takes away from the beauty of the bowl. The wood bowl is solid and sturdy. I was told the bowl was very old and was used to hold raw wool to be used with a spinning wheel. However it could still be used today to rise bread dough. Large 34" Antique Primitive Wooden Trencher Dough Bowl Great Wear Patina Cracks
An antique. Very large, and carved wooden trencher style dough bowl. This has great patina with wear, age, dust and water spots. The best thing are the amazing cracks, the wood has cracked so nicely in so many places. Several remnants of honest repairs and a remaining metal rod/ nail repair joining one of the cracks. I'm not sure when this was made, but it is certainly very old. Widest/ tallest measurements are approx. 34" x 19" x 7" The wood is very raw and dry, it could do with a good oiling or beeswax treatment.

Antique Munising Wooden Dough Bowl 13" x 12" Diam. 4" Tall
Primitive Munising hard wood dough bowl in nice shape with no chips and only a small inside fine 1" crack or slice. There are some small spots in the bowl as it has not been cleaned. Size is 13" x 12" diam. by 4" tall. The Munising logo on this bowl is in upper case as I will call it and not written as some of the others.
