Antique Hand Cast Solid Silver Crested Shovel Shape Tea Caddy Spoon with Swedish Import Mark c. 1910 This Delightful Antique Tea Caddy Spoon measures approximately 3 3/ 8 inches or 8 6 mm in length from the top of the handle to the rim of the bowl by just over 7/8 of an inch or 23 mm across the widest part of the upper handle from side to side and it is 1 5/ 8 inches or 42 mm across the width of the bowl. The spoon is made from cast solid silver with a pierced raised relief decorated lower handle that has a figure holding a pierced. Relief and engrave decorated crest at the top and the caddy spoon has a novelty shovel shape bowl that has a raised relief figural scene of a w o men and children. The tea caddy spoon has Not been engraved with a previous owners initials or family monogram all as photographed below and I estimate that this spoon ... morewas originally made in the Hanau region of Germany circa 1900- 1920 however it has been impressed with a Swedish three crown 830 standard solid silver import mark on the front edge of its bowl. The condition is used and near Mint for its age. The Caddy Spoon has No Dents. No Holes, No Splits, No Cracks and No Repairs that I can find, the caddy spoon is straight, the decoration and definition is fairly crisp, the Swedish silver mark is still clearly legible although as the caddy spoon is a used antique it does have the obvious signs that it was hand made and it has some extremely minor surface marks and wear from use, it has the patina of age that is to be expected and a gentle clean would not go amiss. Personally I think that this antique tea caddy spoon can still be used today for loose leaf tea and that it would make a superb addition to any collection, I also think that it looks fantastic considering that it's around 100 or so years old. For your consideration is an antique tea box. Full of approximately 3 ounces of loose leaf Wu lung tea, made in China. The tin is in good condition, and the tea is in excellent condition. The box is covered in silk, with paper overlay on three sides(each edge and front face) hand painted sceneries. The rear of the caddy and lid apears to have finely woven silk objects(quite possibly the rear object is a flying dragon with it's head missing) The rear object appears to have very fine, intricate stitching(forbidden stitching? The bottom of the caddy has remnants of orange silk underlay. The box measures 4" tall by 3.5" wide by 1.75" depth, which makes it rather smaller than normal. Rare Victorian Tea Caddy Box Antique English Sterling Silver George Unite 1896
This stunning Victorian sterling silver tea caddy was made by the well known silversmith George Unite and is clearly hallmarked for Birmingham 1896. It is in very good condition. The pull off lid is made up of 4 panels. Has a crimped rim and fits tightly. The body is very unusual. There is an all round decoration of gadroon pillars culminating in a shaped top which has a crimped edge to match the lid. The caddy sits on a raised pedestal base the lower rim of which is also crimped. The tea caddy is made of a heavy gauge of silver. Feels very solid and has retained its original shape. Chinese God Figural Tea Caddy Metropolitan Museum of Art Antique Repro 1745 MMA
Here is an unusual piece- a"Chinese Figure. English, Chelsea, ca. 1745-50" made and sold by the MMA(Metropolitan Museum of Art) through their catalogs in the 1980s. The original covered container- probably a tea caddy- was made about 1745-50 at the Chelsea factory in England. The subject of the hollow figure is Pu Tai Ho Shang, the Chinese god of happiness, known from imported Chinese white Fukien porcelain models. This figure is made of porcelain and has a removable hat and comes with the original paper explaining the history. It is in excellent condition. There is a factory mark on the lower back with two cracks, which were made in the firing process and is not considered'damage' Marked MMA on the bottom It stands almost 7" tall with the hat on. Up for auction is this very large an d extremely stunning TEA CADDY. Through out the years I have bought items just because they have appealed to me and have known little about their origin. This is one such item. It was totally brown when I bought it. But, I could see hints of a decoration. Some of the pi cture s still show remnants of the brown(pic. 6 inside lid) This tea caddy or canister is very heavy. It weights over 4 lbs. The height is 10 1/2" to the top of the lid. The diameter of the open ing is 3 1/2" The height to the shoulder is 7 1/2" as is the widest d i mension of the base. There are no chips or cracks. Just wonderful overall crazing. The pattern on the top of the lid almost looks as though it has faded through the years. It is not as blue as the rest of it. The only mark that I can find is#62 in a circle on ... morethe bottom. The tea caddy is in excellent shape for something at least 120+ years old. There is some normal wear which is to be expected. Nothing significant or that which stands out. It has two"tea boxes" which are in very good condition. The glass is in excellent condition with no chips. Cracks or repairs. During the 1800's tea was a very expensive commodity which symbolized wealth and nobility. Owning a tea caddy or tea box was certainly one way to show that wealth. Antique Chinese Export Tea Caddy - Rose Medallion
This Rose Medallion tea caddy dates from the 1800's and the images are bright. Crisp, and clean. It is 3 1/2" square, 3 1/2" tall, with the lid it is 4" tall. It has what appears to be the very small letters"t m" in red paint on the inner edge of the top and the inner corner of the box. There is a 1/2" blob of gold paint on the bottom, probably spilled by the artist. It is invisible unless you turn it over. For a collector this is a very fine example of Chinese Export, well cared for and a handsome antiquity.

Stunning little tea caddy but sadly has a little damage. There is a little split. Hardly noticeable but it is there. I have tried to capture it in picture two. Also, you will need to push the front panel in a little for the lid to close. I think it would be worth repairing as they are becoming rather hard to find and more and more collectable. Fully hallmarked for London 1901 with the makers mark for Grey& Co. It measures 53mm in height by 35mm square and weighs 35.5g I am always happy to answer questions and to provide more photos. Here is a wonderful antique Chinese stoneware pottery ginger jar or tea caddy. This is the first one of these I have come across that still has it's original bamboo wrapped carrying handles/hangers. It has a green glaze over an decorated body with flowers. It measures about 3 3/4" high. Overall it looks to be in good condition. Antique Oriental Basket Weave Tea Pot Caddy/Holder/Warmer in excellent condition. This really unique tea pot holder has the original metal handles and front lock. It has a Chinese/or Japanese symbol button on the inside of the covered lid. All pieces are original to this tea caddy. The inside cloth material is also in very good condition. It will hold a 4" x 4" teapot and has a pouring spout opening at the metal lock. The wicker basket weave in this piece is in excellent. Tight condition, no breaks. I bought this piece about 25 years ago at Brimfield Flea Market. I never used it, only had it for display. The piece measures approx. 7" high x 6 ½" in diameter. Antique Japanese Satsuma Tea Caddy-Children in Panels
This is a very nice old Japanese Satsuma tea caddy-the jar with lid and also an inner pierced lid. The piece also has a small black wooden stand. But not sure this is original or not. The caddy is in very good condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. It does have very minor wear to some of the enameling, to be expected with an old piece. Also, there is the typical crazing for Satsuma ware. The piece measures approx. 4 1/2" tall by 3 3/4" at the widest point, not including the wooden stand. The design is the same on both sides and has two young boys in the panels. The colors are the typical oranges, light blues, whites and heavy gold work. There are no marks on the piece. A great old piece of Satsuma and in very good condition.
