Beautiful Antique Meissen Tea Caddy with Silver Top
This antique Meissen tea caddy is of the finest quality. The detail in the decorations is incredibly fine. Guaranteed to love this piece! There is a very faint hairline near the top. But still just an incredible piece. The top is also probably a replacement. Looks to be sterling but it isn't marked that I can see. The bottom is signed along with some impressed number marks. The fitted interior lid/seal with a blob finial, a small chip approx. 6mm on the edge and shows turning marks on the underside of lid and what looks like either an worn off mark. Superb Antique Indian Solid Silver Raised High Relief Decorated Tea Box or Tea Caddy circa 1890 This Antique Tea Box or Caddy measures approximately 3 1/2 inches or 89 mm across the width or diameter of its lid from side to side and it stands just over 3 1/2 inches or 90 mm tall to the top of its lid. The tea box or caddy is hand made from 144.3 grams of solid silver in a circular shape with a push fitting lid. The sides of the body have been wonderfully hand embossed or high raised relief and engrave decorated with shaped panels that each has a different garden or country scenes of Indian figures that are within decorative outer borders and the top of the lid has a larger woodland scene of Indian figures with deer that is also within a decorative outer border, the lid rim overhangs the body for ease of opening and the tea box or caddy has ... moreNot been engraved with a previous owners initials or family monogram all as photographed below, I have been unable to find any silver marks as is very typical with these antique Indian silver items however the tea box or caddy has been tested and it is guaranteed as being made from a high grade sterling or solid silver, I estimate that this antique tea box or caddy was made circa 1880- 1900. The condition is used and Excellent for its age. The tea box or caddy has No Dents. No Splits, No Cracks and No Repairs that I can find, the box stands straight, the decoration and definition is very crisp, the lid opens with relative ease and it closes very tightly although as the tea box or caddy is a used antique it does have some small holes around the sides of some of the high relief decoration that were caused during its manufacture and it has the obvious signs that it was hand made, it has some extremely minor surface marks and wear from use along with the patina of age that is to be expected and as it's in the totally original condition that it was found a good clean would enhance it greatly. There are no cracks in the glass, the silver still shines, it appears as if someone was polishing this piece and did not do a great job so it does have some residue here and there and could use a cleaning. Antique Chinese Celadon Pottery Eartherware Tea Caddy Ginger Jar Pot 6 Sided Ex
This is an old Chinese pottery or stoneware celadon tea caddy or condiment jar measuring about 4" dia x 3-1/2" t. These were not made with a great deal of finesse and often have lots of manufacturing irregularities. This has a few and the main one would be a sort of glaze skiip occurring at the bottom of one of the sides(this has 6 sides) and can be seen in picture 2. Another place is more of a little glaze drip and may show up in pic 3 but is small. Lastly. A few tiny indentations on the bottom- again, done in mfg. These little pots usually sat in shallow baskets and most of this never showed but most jars have some sort of irregularity. Please email any questions and PayPal only.

This is a antique tea caddy silver plate on copper.It is marked on the bottom T. M. and what looks like three a three round top crown. The caddy has children on the front and back of the piece frolicking in the woods. They have a dog with them, it is a boy and girl and he is holding a long limb of a tree with leaves on it. On both of the end sides there is a woman holding a bird up in her left hand.It has a pretty wide pulling handle to take the top off so you can place in your tea. The whole piece is done in repousse raised relief( hammered from the inside out) The piece is silver plate over copper. The silver plate seems to be all good except where the design high points you can see little copper. And one very tiny dent on the top edge. It is 5 x 3 x 3 1/2. This piece was sealed years ago to keep it from turning dark black, can be removed ... moreby soaking in hot water over night than peal off.This is a wonderful piece of history. This Beautiful old Chinese Tea pot was made of red clay and is decorated with several embossed pictures of a man holding a wheel. It is marked on the bottom as well as under the lid. We do not speak or know enough about Chinese to make any claims about this pot. So we took it to the Antiques Road Show to get information about it. Here is what we learned. It was made in Yi Hsing in the Chekiang provence of China. The mark on it says that it was made during the Chien Lung era(1735-1796) but after further study, We found that it wasn't(so much for hopes) Instead it was made in the 1870's under a commision by the company that used the original mark. This we can believe. It even looks old. It is in very good condition. It's only issues are a couple of chips along the edge of the lid. Please see the photos for details.

A most unusual and rare Antique Victorian model of a Railway Wagon Tea Caddy made of wood. It has twin compartments for two types of tea with brass knobs on the lids and the remains of the original foil linings. Wonderfully made in wood and most probably a one-off commission piece. Early antique handmade copper tea caddy I happen to love old copper and brass pieces that have that feel of satin from having been polished over and over and over. This sweet little tea caddy is possibly very old. It measures 5-1/4” tall 4-1/2” wide and 3-1/2” deep. It has some marks on the bottom– the number 12 in the middle and near the edge. The number 3 with the initials JM under the 3. There are also letters scratched into the bottom but they may have been added later. Possibly even scratched by a child. Hard to tell. Condition: Although this has quite a few dents to the surface including bends to the bottom rim and the edges around the top. It still looks good. But be aware that there are lots of dents and dings to this piece. It is in restored condition with replaced brass fittings and a small amount of stringing has also been replaced. Despite being restored it still has the blemishes of age and it retains a sense of character and age beneath a new wax finish. Please note there is also a corner of veneer replacement on the lid(see last photo) The two tea containers are mahogany with rosewood lids. The oints of the containers have been reglued. The interior is original and has only been cleaned. The containers have original led linings. There is no glass bowl. Many caddies are sold with replacements. Antique Wooden Tea Caddy #1/ British Raj
We have several beautiful tea caddies that we have found over the years. In various shops in India. They were often covered in dust, a remnant of the British Raj. Apparently tea caddies are very collectable; unfortunately, our knowledge on the subject does not go very far. This is English made, 19th century at least and very finely worked. The exterior is in excellent shape, the interior is pretty good too, however the center divider is loose which causes the 2 side by side lids to fit a little precariously. Antique Hand-Painted Japanese KUTANI PORCELAIN COVERED JAR Biscuit or Tea Caddy
Don't know a whole lot about these. So here goes.This is believed to be an antique Kutani porcelain lidded jar, hand-painted with the traditional Japanese Geisha figures, temples, flowers, and landscape scenes. I don't believe this is a ginger jar- the shape and lid are wrong- and am assuming this is some sort of biscuit jar or tea caddy. This jar is made up of four connected heart-shaped curved panels or lobes, giving the top a four-leaved clover shape, and it stands on four little stubby"feet" one at the bottom of each heart shape. It stands about 5-3/4" tall without the lid in place, 7-1/4" to the top of the lid handle with the lid on, and is about 4-1/2" wide at the top edge of the jar. It is decorated with swags of red and green paint around the top rim and around the edge of the lid, and these have been ... moretrimmed with gold paint, as are the geisha's kimonos, the temples, and several of the flowers. Both jar and lid are in excellent antique condition with no chips or paint loss(except for the edge of one heart shape and some patches on the rim of the lid, where it looks like the original paint did not stick very well) There is an old paper label affixed to the bottom of the jar, but I have no idea what the characters on the label mean. This rare antique Chinese Teapot is wonderful find. It is a circa 1890-1923 authentic stoneware hand painted tea pot with two matching tea cups and a cloth lined weaved brass and straw tea caddy. This fine object dates to either the Qing Dynasty or very early Republic of China. This fine item is in excellent condition it is Hand Painted Stoneware and is substantial in size at about 8" by 6" by 4" It is marked with the country of origin China.

Antique Chinese Japanese Export Pottery Porcelain Tea Caddy w/ Dolphin
This is an estate piece from the W.M.V.Hoffman estate. Formerly of Tuxedo Park and N.Y.C. The Hoffman family made their fortune in N.Y.C. real estate and trace their lineage back to Garit Storm(see my website for more) Their ancestors included Groverneur and Kemble, merchants in the China trade in the late 18th century. I believe that this piece was one of the items from the merchant trade. The piece is a ceramic/ pottery lidded urn. Box, tureen or tea caddy, approx. 4-1/8" tall without the lid and approx. 5-3/4" with the lid on to the top of the fish or dolphin fin. The urn is an elongated octagonal shape. The vase has sienna or light brownish stylized painting with black accents. The top piece has a fish or dolphin as a handle. It has beautiful rich deep cobalt blue underglaze. With deep red. Orange and some gold details. The workmanship is quite well done, it has the artist mark on the edge of the lid and on the rim. This is an antique Chinese pewter tea caddy. Signed on the base. It has five painted glass panels, each one showing a different scene. Three of the panels are signed, two with a red stamp, and one with red stamp and Chinese characters above(this is the panel with the horse and two men) The artwork is amazing- the paintingsare highly detailed, with beautiful colors and brushstrokes. It measures 6-1/2 inches tall and weighs 1022 grams- or 2 lbs 4 ounces. It is in excellent condition, with just one slight ding on top of the removable pewter top.
