Wonderful 19th c. treenware spice jar/caddy. In very good condition. H owever. There are two very tiny age cracks in the woo d.two on the lid and one on the bottom. There are deliberate markings on the lid. I have studied these markings quite closely. But have not been able to decipher them and quite possibly they may have had a personal m eaning to the craftsman. All over rich patina. Including the markings. Measures a pprox.2.5" tall x 3 1/4" diameter. Please refer closely to the item you are bidding on and ask questions should you have any. The photos are the best description. Sorry. Antique Medicine Cabinet, early 1900's, 21" tall 18" wide, or Nice spice cabinet
Fantastic white Antique Medicine Cabinet. Most probably from the early 1900's, although I do not know, it could be older. Has several exposed rusty nails and a few newer nails put in to hold it together. Seems pretty solid despite its looks and numerous cracks and breaks. The back has two flat brackets with holes for hanging on large head screws on the wall(18" spaced wall studs should work to hold the two screws) It is 21.75" tall, 18" wide, and 6" front to back. The hinges work fine, though a little rusty. It has two shelves plus the bottom. No cracks in the door glass or side glass. RARE Primitive Antique Wooden Spice Rack Navajo Eagle Design VTG bottles grater
You are bidding on a rare and unique. Hand-made vintage or primitive antique spice rack with a cutout eagle design and includes 12 spice jars with lids and a nutmeg grater. The spice rack measures 11 ½ inches wide, 14 ½ inches tall and 2 5/8 inches deep. The age of the contents are unknown and I recommend replacing with a fresh spice supply. There are also 2 drawers in the bottom of the cabinet with a what resembles the Navajo Eagle design as well as the sawtooth cutout design along the edges of the piece. The history and origin are unknown but this may be an authentic piece, as it is from an estate and one of the family members was a world traveler, including South America. There are 2 hangers on the back for hanging, or display it sitting on your cabinet or the back of your stove. Probably from the 70’s or prior. I have shown pictures from all angles so that you can read that. It's a teal-green color background with red writing and cream color trim. Where it says"red pepper" on the front, it is on some kind of tape or paper and is attached that way, with a little bit of it peeled off. The tin does have rust on the bottom and inside and does have scuff marks all over and was definitely used. The pictures should show all of that. This hand made hinged box, with top handle, opens to a fitting of 5 small inserts with little brass lids for various curry spices, also a brass tray. The 5 inserts are set in a brass piece with cut-outs that hold them tight. 6¼" wide x 4¼" deep x 3" high. Doll, Tea, Mahjong Set Calligraphy May Read Ju Zhong See Several Photos In Description Below 10-1/4" x 10-1/4" This crate is lined with patterned paper on the inside and it is also lined with paper on the outside. On two sides it has this Japanese or Chinese calligraphy. Which another eBayer said reads, ju zhong" but could not specifically say what the original contents may have been. My first inclination was that it may have originally contained tea or delicate china. Then we came up with some other ideas. Such as complete Mahjong set, herbs, spices, opium, ivory sculpture. In any event, whatever was in here, they were taking extreme care to see it was ... morepresented with elegance. v This box originally had a sliding wooden lid. It would be nice if a woodworker would make and retrofit a new lid. It would be nice if anyone who sees this auction would help us to identify more specifics on this box and what country it came from Korea. Japan, China, or where? Here is the outside bottom showing the paper worn off. Here are shots of the inside and the paper covering. The wooden parts of the box itself are quite intact and sturdy for its age. I got this at an antique shop 15 years ago and have been holding onto it. The paper on the outside has a false wood grain pattern with golden calligraphy that looks hand-painted on. It measures 3" x 2" The Woolson Spice Co. was one of the first companies in the United States to establish an advertising campaign. They issued trading cards to advertise their Lion coffee. It was sold in 1# bags. This paper advertising card probably came with a bag of coffee. The Woolson Spice Co. was founded in Toledo. OH in 1882. The assests of the Co. was sold to Delano West. Ltd. a Hawaiian company in 1980. It is still in business today& the coffee is now known as Kano coffee. This piece of advertising is paper-not card stock. ON TOP OF THE FILIGREE PART ANOTHER ROUND PART WITH A DESIGN OF 2 LIONS ONE ON EACH ON THE SIDE OF THE 10 COMMENDMENTS. IT IS 24.5 CM(9.8" TALL.
