The exterior has a hasp which can accomodate a padlock and each side has lugs for padlocks. It has a substantial swan neck carrying handle on the top and is decorated with beading to the edges. the interior has two levels. The top level is a removable tray which has three lids. Each side has three compartments beneath the lids and the rear lid has two compartments. The bottom layer has two lidded compartments. The interior retains much of its tinning. Please examine the photos carefully as they are an intergral part of the description. Height 13 cms. Width 30 cms, depth 22 cms. Weight a substantial 3.88 kg. This is a nice example of a Burmese scale weight of the type once used for trade in gold. Opium and spices. It was formally part of a collection of oriental weights from Asia, China, India and Africa collected by my great aunt, it is thought to be over 100 years old and is in good condition. It measures 1 1/8 inches high and is approximately 5/8 inch across the base. It is a lost wax cast weight typical of those used on merchants portable beam balances in the east. It would have been used to weigh all types of precious materials. Made in the form of a Mandarin Duck as a fabulous beast, it has a flowing cursive style. Antique Tole Painted Spice Cannisters with Carosel- Dtd 1874 This set of seven tole cannisters are set in their original circular(lazy Susan type rotationg) carrier. Stenciled under bottom of the tray"Pat'd May 1874" Original red painted surface with hand painted sprigs of flowers which I am sure are original to the piece. Cannister lids are tight and I did not try to force them off. One came off easily. None of the cannisters are rusted through but there are a few(very few) spots of light rust. Some minor chipping to the red paint. No dents anywhere. No breaks or seam separations. Excellent condition for tole(tin) piece about 140 years old. Each cannister is about 4 1/4 inches tall and tapered to fit tightly in the holder. Holder is 8 inches in diameter and about 4 inches high. Postage includes insurance. Here we are offering an Antique Spice Jar.Probably from Sweden! It came from an estate where the Husband was Swedish! This jar is approximately 4 inches tall. The base is approximately 2 7/8 inches in diameter, Has a screw top lid. That screws onto a 2 1/4 inch opening. The glass is an opaque white. This is another great kitchen advertisement display collectible. This bottle is a very old RAJAH with deep impressed lift open and snap on cap. There is a wire to assist in keeping lid on once opened. The lid is navy blue/ creme. The bottle has a mission handle and octagon base with corner moldings. The bottle does not say any size so i guessed it to hold approx. 8oz. The number on the bottom of bottle only i believe is 169. Excellent Condition. Measures 7" high the base is 2 3/4 x 3 1/4" wide. This is just an impressive bottle for display. Very clean.

Here are 2 very old French's spice tins that are pretty rustic but still very collectible for the right person. I've been collecting French's spice tins. Jars, etc. for a long time. I've displayed them on spice racks in the kitchen for years, and I need to start parting with them. These are the oldest ones I have, and I think they are from the 1920s(based on other listings I've seen) The pics show all 6 sides on both. They are both 3 1/2" tall and 2 1/4" across. The Ginger tin is marked 2 oz. The White Pepper tin is marked 1 1/2 oz. The pics give an accurate detail of what they look like, so please check all pics closely. Louis Landau was born near Breslau Germany Oct 15 1853. A resident of Lebanon Il 1860-72. In 1892 started in the wholesale grocery business as Bodenheimer Landau& Co which was changed in April 1896 to Louis Landau& Co. In 1906 the firm was incorporated as Landau Grocery Co. Of which he was president. This is a tin litho made by the Columbia Can Co. St Louis and is still full of Allspice. The tin has not been cleaned and I think the top would clean up well.
