ANTIQUE WOOD SPICE RACK TEA CABINET 8 DRAWER BOX OLD NR Up for your consideration is this really cool old antique 8 drawer wood spice rack. It is probably from the 1920's or 30's The knobs are probably replacements from maybe the 1950's or 60's. The entire thing(frame and boxes) is made from some very old rough sawn wood. It might be Oak but I am not sure. FEATURES: The drawers are solid wood and have box joints. ADD. INFO: It is currently a semi gloss white(spray painted) probably in the 50's or 60's and before that it was brush painted that pale"diner" yellow probably from the 30's or 40's and before that I think it may have been unfinished(and a bit more dignified) during its first couple decades. It is possible that this is older. But I try to be conservative. SIZE: It measures about 10" ... morewide x 5-1/2" deep x 16-1/2" tall The inside dimensions of the boxes are 3-3/4" wide x 4-1/8" deep x 2" tall. COLOR: semi gloss finish white color. Sorry some of the pictures have a yellow hue to them- the cabinet is white. TYPE: antique kitchen spice or tea cabinet CIRCA: likely around the 1920's give or take 10 years MATERIAL: Rough sawn wood planks. Mill-cut CONDITION: As can be seen it is painted white and that was over the yellow and it has some dings and dents. One of the drawers looks like the top edge got carved off for some reason along the way? can't imagine how that came to be. But all the drawers go in and out and fit into their respective openings fairly well. It is solid and very secure, over the decades the wood has dried out but is not warped at all. It is 9 1/2 wide and about 3 1/2 inches high and the name appears to be as indicated. the stamp is in the wood on the bottom of the main can and all of the smaller wood tins. The ones easy to read are"Nutmeg. Mace, Ginger, Mustard? and some others have stamp letters but I cant tell. Some have no visible names of spices on them. The piece is perfect other than its missing a small corner bottom piece of wood. The rest of the tin and smaller tins are in great condition with firm seams and no wood problems. There are still some spices in some of the tins that I dont want to remove as they may have lasted all these years so you get what I got. Mailing is $15.50 in the U.S.

I guessed that it was a pomander but the previous owners family advised that it was originally intended to be used as a(Judaica) Besamim/Spice Box(although the ones that I am familiar with are usually formed as upright towers) It measures approximately 6cm square if measured across the base by about 2.75" high. On my electronic scales it weighs 4.25 ounces(120g) There are several assay marks on the base that I have photographed close-up and also an 84 stamped discreetly on the lid. Antique 1920s 1930s HANGING 9 Drawer Spice Box Chest, STRAWBERRY handles
Antique Wood Spice Rack with 9 handpainted porcelain china drawers featuring straw. My grandparents had this hanging perfectly fine in their kitchen for 50 years-I took it about 20 years ago and managed to chip it in the first week! My mom can attest to it being at least 70 years old, 3-Dimensional Strawberry shaped pulls are part of the drawers themselves. Rack has hole for hanging In very good condition since it has ALL its 9 drawers which others are being sold with only 6. Some minor damage on the back surface and the front of box has wood missing at bottom and a couple random chips. Most of the drawers are perfect but there is some paint chipping on a few of the strawberries where the clay shows throw. Someone crafty would be able to fix but not me. This antique wooden spice cabinet is a wall mount. With 8 flush pull drawers. The drawers are wood, top, bottom, sides, and front. The joinery used are butt joints, except at the front face which uses a notch joint. Rabbet joints are used on the cabinet drawer partitions. there are two existing holes at the top that were the previous mount points. There is a faded printed graphic with the words"Spice Cabinet" arched across the top. This cabinet is approximately 17 1/4 inches tall. 10 1/4 inches wide, and 4 1/4 inches deep. The drawers are approximately 3 7/8 inches wide 4 3/16 inches deep, and 2 11/16 inches tall. This cabinet weighs approximately 5 pounds. Condition-The ... moreoverall condition of this cabinet is good. But it is an old little cabinet. And it does show some signs of use. It's age, and wear add a great deal of character to the piece. There is a split starting at the top edge, and the back panel shows some signs of insect damage. ME named after the company's founder, John Bird. Three Crow was later sold by Atlantic Spice Company. Which was located in Rockland, then Bangor, ME. This particular tin has a paper label with super graphics on both sides. It stands taller than the more recent spice tins. But I do not see ounces referenced on the label, so I don't know exactly what quantity of product this tin held. It still retains its original lid. There is minimal rust to the metal. Pair of Central Asian Antique Lacquered Turned Wood Spice Boxes
On offer are two very wonderful turned wood spice/incense boxes which I originally bought in the early'80's in the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul but which once could be found in the souqs of Sana'a. The villages in the Swat valley of Pakistan, the bazaars of Syria and Lebanon and even, if you were really lucky in the flea markets of Europe. At one time they were rather ubiquitous but they are now exceedingly scarce. These two are lovely antique examples of an item that is no longer being made. Constructed of solid turned wood( I believe it to be teak but have been told it could also be mulberry) it is quite miraculous how'perfect' their shape is. The larger box measures 7" in diameter and stands 5" tall. The lid is tight fitting and the box is in very good condition. Painted in red. Black and mustard yellows the polychrome ... moreeffect is stunning. I have used this box for several years to store incense so, if you buy it, note that it will arrived smelling rather exotic when opened. The smaller box has a sweet domed lid. With these older boxes the dome is often broken/damaged but not here! 3" in diameter and stands approx 4" tall. Also a tight fitting lid but this time the red and black paint is accented with green. I am offering for bid these Antique OLD SET of( 10) HOOSIER KITCHEN CABINET JARS. Not sure what they were all used for but I believe for SALT PEPPER TEA COFFEE SPICES. They all have the RIBBED DESIGN and include: TALL JAR WITH LID* not embossed) but has a place to put a Paper Label. Has Bubbles in the Glass and what I would call a pontil or machine mark circle on the bottom. It measures approx. 8 in. Tall( to the top of the Lid) x 4 in. Diameter Base. It does have one tiny flake on the Rim but I could not get it to show in a photo and there is a rough place on the bottom Rim. No cracks and the Glass is not cloudy- 5) SPICE JARS WITH LIDS* not embossed) but has a place to put a Paper Label. One of them does have a Lid with holes- maybe for a shaker. This week we are featuring this primitive round pantry spice box from a recent estate sale. It is complete and all original. This set includes seven smaller spice boxes that nest nicely inside. The box has nice aged patina. The large box has"SPICES" printed on top and side as well. The smaller boxes are marked with the spice it held. The large pantry box is 9 1/2" in diameter and 3 3/8" tall. The smaller boxes are"Pepper" 3 1/4" in diameter. All other spice boxes are 2 1/2" in diameter. Smaller boxes are all approximately 3" tall. The main box has a separation from the wood drying out but still closes securely.
