Antique Rosewood Portable Melodeon Pump Organ Case in Great Condition Bellows Works Here is a great old portable pump organ for your buying consideration. I recently acquired it at a local auction. The organ has a nice rosewood case on it that the finish is still mostly intact on. I see no cracks or splits in the case. All the keys seem to still be hooked up. The bellows does generate enough air to produce sounds when the keys are depressed. I did not attempt to hook the rods up to the floor pedals. Amazingly. The music holder is still on this organ. The one side was repaired at one time where cracked and done well. The key is even with the organ to lock the door over the keyboard. Organ keys look good, no cracks, splits or missing pieces. The one thing I see to report is that the black material or paint applied to the bellows is flaking ... moreoff. Not sure if that is an issue or not. Per the tag inside the instrument. It was at one time in New England. My guess is that the organ was made sometime between the 1850s to early 1920s, but that is just my guess, you be the judge as to how old this organ is. There also was no maker mark or tag on the organ. It might be a Mason& Hamlin out of Boston, MA or a Prince& Co. from Buffalo, NY. You be the judge as to maker and when made. Any help in identifying the actual maker and to narrow the date of manufacture would be appreciated to provide interested eBuyers with the most accurate information as possible. This musical instrument is not represented to be in playing condition. With an old musical instrument like this. NEWARK, NJ/ PATENTED AUG 10'97 on one end of handle. Minor crack across brad on one side of wood handle, shiny patina to shank, dark patina to bell and worm. Rich patina to wood. A larger size; measures 6" x 4" 2. An open cast bell assist feature with crown cap lifter and wire breaker of stamped steel affixed above bell. The worm is sharp and intact. Antique French Brass Inlaid Rosewood Boulle Box Created sometime during the late 1800s. This lovely boulle box is named after renowned French cabinet maker Andre Charles Boulle(1643- 1732) Featuring ornate brass inlay covering every side of its rosewood(or palisander) body(except the base) this piece is highly decorative with detailed scrollwork& foliage. Regarding condition. The interior of the box is pristine; nearly all the brass decoration is present; and I have not noticed any'dings' or dents. Please note that cleaning of the brass decoration is left up to the buyer(though I believe it should shine brightly as it does not seem to have any erosion) Imperfections include a few missing thin lines of wood beneath the top lip of the piece and surrounding its top face(these are generally very difficult to notice) The monogram and ... morea corner are'lifting' a tiny bit; a teeny piece of the base veneer has a little'fray' I'm trying to be EXACT; these details should not deter. Up for auction is a pair of dark stained antique drumsticks which I believe to be rosewood. I am unsure of their age or where they are from originally. They were found with my late Father-In-Law's drum kit. I was told he got them from his father. My guess is they are from the 1920's. They appear unused and are in great shape for their age. The sticks measure 16 1/4" long and 5/8" diameter at the butt end. There is a 1/4" x 3/8" very shallow"chip" on one of the sticks(see photo for details) Please note- I am NOT a drum expert in any way. Showstopper.One of A Kind The entire bench was completely disassembled because it was wiggly. Jiggly and not solid to use.Every piece of this bench was taken apart and reglued, it is now solid as a rock and stable with no movement, you could probably do jumping jacks on it(kidding lol! Made from solid mahogany(all the black parts) it has beautiful lines and awesome turned legs which end in tiny bun feet. Custom black distressed finish sealed with a clear coat.I purposefully left many distressing marks.Uneven paint edges in the black, nicks and dings in the wood prior to restoring it with the black. I wanted the distressed look to contrast the gorgeous silky smooth Bolivian Rosewood. The mahogany and rosewood were ... morerefinished in a traditional, multi-step process that ended with a fine coat of hand-rubbed wax. The hardware was replaced with traditional, English-made hardware that was common in the Georgian and Victorian periods. The sturdy frame remains original, and a look inside the drawers shows a strong structure that remains more or less unchanged by the stresses of time. As was common in the Victorian period, each drawer features hand-cut dovetails and continues to pull in and out very smoothly. The shaped bracket feet also remain very level and stable. This chest is certainly a beautiful example of English craftsmanship and will be sure to last for generations more to come. Over the years it has of course sustained some minor scuffs, which have been finished over and now simply add to the rich, genuine character of this wonderful chest, which remains in overall excellent condition. Antique Ansonia Rosewood Mantle/Shelf Clock
Up for auction today is this Nice Antique Ansonia Rosewood Mantle/Shelf Clock. Excellant running condition. Measures 16 5/8" tall x 9 7/8" wide x 4 5/8" deep. A label on the back shows that it had some work done in 1985. Unfortunately I don't know what was done to this clock. I'm guessing the movement was cleaned and regulated. It appears part of the inside of the case was lines with a brown felt. It was nicely applied and has a very nice appearance. The movement is very clean and has a June 18.1882 patent date. The door glass is missing a little bit of the gold decoration. I believe the dial is a paper replacement. The door knob is thermoplastic(or gutta percha) The case finish appears to be original. SUPERB ANTIQUE 19TH C CHINESE CARVED ROSEWOOD FIGURE OF QUAN YIN IN FLOWING ROBE
Up for your consideration is this SPECTACULAR antique Chinese carved figure. It is carved from rosewood(possibly boxwood) And is in the form of Quan Yin. The quality of the carving is SUPERB! The flowing of her robes creates so much movement throughout the piece! It is really unbelievable! She is lacquered in a warm lacquer with hints of cherry color. This piece measures approximately 12" tall, by 4 3/4" wide, and 3" deep. It is in EXCELLENT antique condition. It looks as though there might be an old repair to a natural crack in the wood at her back, but I cannot be sure. Circa 19th century. Available here is an antique wall panel made of an exotic cut of mahogany or possibly rosewood. This is SOLID wood. Not veneer! This kind of thing is just not available anymore. This listing is for one panel. Although we have five of these available and would welcome making a deal for all. We also have nine accent panels that are approximately 12" x 66" if a buyer is interested in them all. These would be perfect wall panels for a library. Study or bar. The size is about 28" by 66" from molding to molding. That does not include the support pieces which are outside of the molding. I don't believe the framing wood to be mahogany/rosewood. However the wood within the molding is quite exotic. The panel can stand up as pictured. Or be laid on its side to cover more area on a wall.
