ANTIQUE ROSEWOOD TRUNCHEON - No Reserve
This is a beautifully made rosewood small truncheon. I assume it was a police one in its day and i believe it dates back to about 1900. It has a finely ribbed grip(with a hole for the strap) and a ring-turned top. It measures 8 inches in length and is very weighty for its size. There are some rubs to the surface(see pic 3) from use, but there are no chips or cracks. Rosewood is a very expensive hardwood. And this item is not like most"everyday" truncheons found on ebay now. A quality piece of memorabilia not to be missed. Offered at a low start and no reserve. Thanks for looking.

CHAUNCEY JEROME ANTIQUE ROSEWOOD STEEPLE CLOCK. CIRCA ABOUT 1850 Up for bid is my Chauncey Jerome steeple clock. This old clock is over 150 years old and still runs. This clock is from an estate where I purchased several antique clocks awhile back. This one was in very poor condition. Most people would have thrown it out. I am a patient person and I cleaned up the cabinet and removed the movement and cleaned it in ultrasonic solution and adjusted it and oiled it and remounted it in the cabinet. The original kitchen timer which was in the clock was missing from the clock. I have replaced it with a period one. It runs and strikes on the hour great now. The clock has a rosewood and rosewood veneer There have been several repairs to the veneer and there are still some chips out of the veneer. I took pictures of a couple of the spots where it ... moreis missing. I believe the glass top and bottom is original to this clock. The dial was replaced on the clock. But the original dial is still on the reverse side of the dial. The clock comes with two keys. One for winding the time and strike and one for the timer which is longer and easier to wind the timer. The clock measures 10" wide, 20" tall and 4" deep. It still has a good portion of the original label inside the clock. Look my pictures over carefully before bidding due to the cosmetic issues. A fine Asian Chinese antique treen/wooden praying hands.Rising from the lotus flower incense burner,hand carved from Rosewood.This comes in two parts as shown in the pictures.The praying hands rising from the lotus flower is a Buddhism symbol.It is Kwan Yin,the godess of mercy and compassion.It can be used for burning incense cones or for incense sticks,as it has the holes to accomodate.This is a very fine piece of craftsmanship,with exquisite detail and carving techniques.This has no defects what so ever,apart from some age wear to the underside of the base,as shown.It dates from the Meiji period,late 19th century.The size is 6 3/4" high and 4 1/2" across its widest point.This is solid wood and very heavy for its size.If you have any questions please ask.

This is a fabulous antique Asian rosewood and brass jewelry box with jade inserts on the front and sides. Brass has engraving decoration and handle on top. Box is well made with dove-tailing on top and bottom. Jade inserts are well carved in a lotus flower pattern and there is raised decorative panels on doors and drawer front. In bottom drawer there is a secret compartment as a section pulls away to reveal another opening underneath. Wood pieces applied feet on bottom. This is a quality box- better made than most. The lower bout measures 8 1/8” wide at the lower bout and 6 1/2” wide at the upper bout. There are no hairlines or restorations to the front. But the lower ebony saddle is missing. There is a separation to the back button and I can hear the sound peg rattling around on the inside. The peg box is nicely carved and there are matching rosewood tuning keys with tight holes. Listed without any reserve this violin needs a little TLC and it will be ready to play. To make sure that some eBayer gets a chance there is no reserve! NEW HAVEN ANTIQUE"GEM" ROSEWOOD GOTHIC MANTLE CLOCK. CIRCA 1878 Up for bid is this nice old New Haven clock. I found this clock in an old barn and it probably had been there for many many years as it was very grimy and dirty. You could not see any grain in the rosewood at all. I have cleaned the cabinet and wiped it down with orange oil and beewax to nourish the old wood. There are a few places on the bottom edges where the veneer has chipped on the base. The clock is original except for the dial. It has been replaced with a replica of that period and similar to what the original would have been. There are some blemishes in the rosewood also. Look my pictures over carefully. The glass is the original and the top round glass is still held in place with the original cement that was used in that era.The clock runs on a 30 hour movement. ... moreI removed the movement and cleaned it in ultrasonic solution and oiled it. I also installed a new suspension spring. The clock strikes on the hour on a coil gong. The clock runs and strikes great. It strikes the hour about 3 minutes past the hour. Antique 19th Century Euler Frankfurt A/M Rosewood Flute Original Unrestored!
Antique Euler Frankfurt A/M Rosewood Flute I purchased this from a very old. 19 th Century c.1860. Ohio estate and do not know about the history of this piece. It appears to be in really excellent shape and very well preserved. I doubt that it has been played any time recently and should be regarded as unrestored and will need attention from a musical instrument specialist to be put into use again. The doe skin pads are old and most likely original. The keys and action appear to be in excellent shape with no injuries or damage of any kind noticed and the keys move freely. The finish is a very dark almost reddish Rosewood color. Measurements are as follows: The entire assembled instrument measures about 28 inches long. The lower section is 11-3/4 inches long. Antique Rosewood Fife Bb B-Flat Wooden Flute by George Cloos
According to beafifer.com this is probably a. Walter Crosby model fife by George and Frederick Cloos made in Brooklyn c. 1870. Has the hard to read mark Crosby and the maker's mark GC. This flute is 17 inches long. Rosewood body with long. Conical, seamless brass ferrules that bear the characteristic Cloos knurling. There is a small inconsequential chip on the end. Inside the ferrule, see the last photo. This flute belonged to Los Angeles jazz great Bud Shank. I have no way to prove the Bud Shank provenance. I bought several flutes from his estate liquidator about a year after his passing and this is one of them.

New York, this spectacular rosewood"Organ Melodeon" has two ranks of genuine ivory keys, stops and a foot pedal rank as well. Although in playing condition. This historic musical instrument deserves serious restoration. Many years ago, the bellows were replaced with an electric pump. At least one note is stuck on, several keys do not play, stops do not work well, and the linkage for the foot pedal notes is damaged. There are fragmentary pieces to use or reconstruct. On the right is a"swell" or loudness pedal. The rosewood case appears to have its original finish. There are dings, burns and mars as shown and the music desk is a later reconstruction. We are pleased to offer to the market this stunning antique English cabinet. The maker of this piece is unknown to us. We believe it to be from the late 1800's. A beautiful. Unique and functional piece the attributes of this are numerous. This is made from rosewood and veneer. The gallery top boasts a beautiful marble slab in amazing condition. Above the gallery there is a cabinet with glass doors. The doors have a pretty bell flower with ribbon& bow motif painted on them. This matches the inlaid motif on the base doors. There is an oval shaped beveled mirror between the doors. This has a key for the upper doors and they do lock. Beneath the cabinet doors the backsplash has a larger beveled mirror. The mirror is flanked by shelves mounted on columns with brass accenting. The base section of this has a single drawer above two doors ... morethat open to reveal additional storage space. The drawer has dove tail seams. The drawer has a lock but we do not have the key and the key that locks the upper doors does not work on this lock. There is a faux lock mechanism on the bottom doors as well. With no lock mechanism inside. This is strictly decorative and not functional. The upper and lower lock areas all have brass hardware on them. PAIR ANTIQUE FRENCH VICTORIAN BERGERE CARVED ROSEWOOD NAILHEAD TRIM CHAIRS CHAIR
We are pleased to offer this EXCEPTIONAL pair of antique. Early 1900s, French Victorian chairs! These STUNNING chairs feature ornately carved Rosewood frames and beautiful fabric with extensive nailhead trim. The chairs feature exaggerated lines which give them a gorgeous profile. The backs are curved, in Louis XIV style, and have an hourglass appearance from the front and back views. The seats are extremely wide with lovely contoured fronts. The chairs are armless but the wooden frames extend downward in such a manner as to give them the appearance of having small, petite arm rests. The carving of the wood is lovely and features leaves and cherries on the top center frames. Small, French crosses are notched into the frames on each side of the leaf and cherry design. Carved acanthus leaves on the upper sides of the frames give the chairs ... morea subtle, winged" look. The front legs are cabriole with the leaf and cherry carving repeated. The back legs are straight with a subtle curved line. The chairs have GORGEOUS fabric. Though probably not original, it is quite nice and is expertly finished. The fabric is quite interesting and combines floral patterns with large paisley feathers and a beautiful, geometric lantern design. The fabric is quite colorful with hues of cream, tan, blue, green, burgundy and gold. The fabric is accented with extensive nailhead trim on both the front and back. The trim is an antique gold color and is quite striking. The chairs have are overstuffed with ample cushioning. This extends the fabric sections approximately 4" from the frames. The chairs are in very good condition. They are quite sturdy. As with most antique chairs of this period. They are not terribly heavy. There are a few small scuffs on the wood(as would be expected) which can be resolved with a simple touch up. There is nothing severe or distracting and the chairs look extremely nice. Antique Victorian Settee and 4 chair Rosewood Parlor Set
Item up for bid is an antique Victorian Rosewood Parlor Set. It includes the settee and four chairs. One with arms. There are two larger chairs and two smaller chairs. I do not know much about this set as it was inherited. I am unsure of its age. The frames of the settee and chairs all have patterns with grapes as can be seen in the pictures above. It is slightly different on the chairs than on the settee. Obviously the upholstery is of different colors, but could be reupholstered to match. The condition of the set is good. But it is in need of some repair. The back comes off of the largest chair. I included a picture, so you can see the pegs that hold it together. It looks as though there may have been some repairs to the settee and you can see scuff marks on it in the picture. The items do have scuff marks on them, and there is a chunk ... moreout of the bottom of the wood part of the settee. Some of the seams in the wood of the settee are off a bit too, I included a picture of that. The underside of a couple of the chairs have the fabric torn loose under them, so you can see inside the chair. There is a chip off of the top of one of the chairs as well, on the grape pattern. I included a picture of that. I am not an antique dealer. But I am describing them to the best of my ability.
