VERY SCARCE* ANTIQUE VTG Ca 1900 BLOCK& KUHL 6 7/8 BLACK WOOL FELT MEN'S DERBY BOWLER HAT This offering is for an original old antique Men's Bowler or Derby Hat. The hat is stamped on the leather sweat band and the lining in the crown"BLOCK AND KUHL CO PEORIA ILL" The hat is made of pressed black wool felt with a matching gross grain ribbon hat band and brim edging. The original makers info tag is still under the sweat band but it's hard to read. The inside diameter is app. 21½" which equals a hat size of app. 6 7/8. The condition is excellent with only light wear and one or two very minor dimple marks that are hard to see. There is no mothing, no rips, no tears and no repairs. The hat is very very clean, bearing in mind that other than a dusting we have not cleaned it and will leave any decision to do ... moreso to the new owners. Wonderful set of six(6) wooden hat brim flange shapers. All of these are old and came from my uncle's dry cleaning business from many years ago. Each one has a separation in the wood at each end. Each one is a different size. Two have been reinforced with metal strips on the back. These were used in the cleaning industry so they show their history of use and necessity. VINTAGE ANTIQUE WOOD HAT MOLD FORM MILLINERY BLOCK 3 PIECE PRIMITIVE
We have up for auction fresh from a local estate sale a 3 piece Millinery hat mold or form. The first piece is the base. It is made from multiple pieces of wood and has 2 metal studs coming out of the top. It is 12 ½” long x 8 ¾” wide x 5 ¼’ tall. The second piece is oval and looks like a toilet seat. It has a 7 ½ number stamped into the end along with a date of 1928. This piece is 13 ½” long x 12 ¾” wide and about 2” thick. There are 2 holes on the bottom that fit over the metal studs of the first piece. The last piece looks like one solid piece of wood. It’s about 6” tall x 7 ½” long x 6 ½” wide. This is an antique haberdasher wood hat block or form in good condition. At some point it looks to of been painted. By easy to sand that off if desired. Also has cardboard glued around the bottom edge, be easy to get it wet to see what the numbers say. At the largest point around it is 23" which I think is close to a sz 7 or 7 1/4. Stands in at nearly 6" tall. I used a soda bottle to give it some scale. Has a few age cracks but I suppose it can be used as is. It starts at $25 and will ship for $10. A Fabulous Original French Antique Hat/Wig Block This Fabulous original French Antique Hat/Wig block was discovered in a local Milliners establishment that had closed its doors for the last time. Produced in wood during the 1800's it carries the patina of ages where the artisan has worked his craft over the years. It is in remarkable condition given that it is well over 100 years old and is still serviceable. And could be utilised for what it was originally intended. It does appear to have been repaired underneath on the base at sometime in the past, but this in no way detracts from its overall appearance. Antique vintage Godfrey of Melbourne hat block
Godrey of Melbourne brimmed hat block. I really can't be sure of the type of timber but it is very beautiful it's 4 pieces- the base. Brim, and the two rounded pieces that make up the peak in very good condition. Wonderful for display measures: 35cm across. 30cm high the base and the first layer are size 22- the second layer 21.5- this is obviously done because the peak part always narrows near the top post to Australia: $25.00. to FNQ or WA $35.00. international please ask.
