Antique BURL WOOD Treen Trinket/ Jewelry Box w Hinged Lid& Tab Lift Up for auction is a very handsome antique burl wood treen trinket or jewelry box. It's 3.75" X 3.5" and it's 2" tall. The lid is hinged with a groove fit. Here's a little chip missing on one corner of a cut groove as in the photos but otherwise the box is in nice condition with only light surface wear for its age. The front top of the lid has a little tab carved out to help with opening the lid. It's a lovely piece. I purchased this at an estate auction and am uncertain of its exact age but 19th century is my best guess. Simply wonderful wall hanging of two winged cherubs or angels measures 7 inches wide at the widest extent and about 4+ inches tall. Carved in deep relief. The depth of the pair as it projects off the wall is about 2 inches. Wonderful detail in faces. Cherubs have appealing eyes. Curly locks and angelic wings. Original late 19th century(gorgeous from every angle) woman's carved wood desk. The original brass pulls are well intact. The drawer pulls with ease and it has a lock with no original key. The finish wood at the top and sides of the desk is a fine tight burl veneer(probably over carved walnut) The desk top has an original tapestry which has a multitude of chrysanthemums and/or peonies and as can be seen, there are holes, pulls and wear into the tapestry. The tapestry portion measures roughly 21 by 34" There is some surface wear in the wood at the corners and areas where one would expect from an ot that has seen continued use. It is all intact& strong. At the top are a few very small pieces of burl veneer missing. but the tiny spots are old and smooth from, as above mentioned, continued use. The Hinge is strong. Opens and shuts correctly. The closest I can come to a maker is Michael Sitte, an Austrian silversmith active from 1829 through 1864. There have been other snuff boxes attributed to this maker. This is an educated guess, if you can add anything further I'm always eager to learn. Good antique condition no dings or dents. Antique Tibetan tea set. Handmade silver and burl wood teapot and six tea cups.
First a disclaimer: When bought at an auction some decades past. The items presented here were said to be an antique Tibetan tea service. No date was given but it was supposed by the seller to be late 19th century. We are not Tibetan either ethnically or by professional interest. The items have never been professionally authenticated, so we are selling the set as is. We make no claims as to anything other than what can be seen in the accompanying images. With that in mind. This is a beautiful little service. As you can see from the later images, the teapot is about six inches by three inches. The teacups are small as well. The teapot is hand worked burl wood. There are lathe marks on the bottom of the teacups, but not so on the teapot. We don't know what type of wood was used. The wooden bowl of the teapot is enhanced with a silver metal ... morecollar that looks to have been hand tooled. The bowl itself is covered with a metal that looks like it was a sheet of metal pounded into the shape of the wooden bowl. The collar is a silver metal that appears to be hand tooled. The images look to be aquatic. Turquoise and coral colored stones were worked into the metal to give the teapot a very simple. Pleasant overall design. The lid continues the collar design. It looks to be an intricately intertwined dragon. The lid and handle are both enhanced with the turquoise and coral stones. The foot of the teapot is a silver metal scallop design. Enlarge the last image of the bottom of the teapot and you will see a mark stamped into the metal. The foot is attached to the wood bowls foot with tiny tacks. The cups are the same basic make as the teapot with a silver metal insert on a hollowed out piece of wood. There are different characters worked into the bottom of the cups' bowl. The tea cups do not have a collar. They do have a silver metal foot to hold the wooden cup. The feet are attached to the bowl with tiny tacks. The set is in great shape. The metal tarnishes like silver and has been hand rubbed twice in the thirty years

Seikosha was a branch of the Japanese company Seiko that produced clocks. Watches and other devices. The branch was established in Tokyo in 1892 as the clock manufacturing arm of K. Hattori. Clock measures 15 1/4" X 8" X 4.5" Wood frame with veneer burl and beveled glass. Face is metal with 3/4" tall numbers. Pendulum and key are present. I am not an expert on clocks. Real beauty in this large antique hand turned dough/burl bowl. We believe it to be circa 18th or early 19th c. It measures 19" in dia. and 6 1/2" h. and 9/16" thick. Stellar 58.5" in circumference! Probably made of ash or elm. Beautiful patterns of the wood throughout the bowl. Uneven top indicates it was hand hewn! There 2 small small hairlines on the upper rim that have been filled and repaired from the inside. The integrity of this bowl remains and it is very strong. And. Up for bids is this Antique Mid 19thC Scottish Mauchline Ware Penwork Burl Root Wood Snuff Mull Box. This wonderful snuff mull was made in Scotland during the mid 19thC. The mauchline ware scene is hand done in penwork and the top half depicts two men who are hopping over a fence on their horses with one of their hunting dogs already on the other side of the fence. The bottom half depicts 2 men on their horses in a pasture with 3 hunting dogs with them. The underside of the box has a worderful contorted burl which rests on the table evenly. The hinged lid closes tightly. This piece measures 5 1/2" in length. 4 1/4" in width, and stands 2 1/4" in height. This piece is in great condition with no breaks, repairs, or wear and still retains its original finish.
