Old Antique Pearl Pearl Boxes Three Matching Inside Stacking Boxes
Antique pearl Boxes. They are very old and have been used alot it looks like. I was told when I bought these they are from the 1800's and are called pearl boxes. I am no antique dealer but love to buy old things and vintage lingerie. The boxes symbolize a time long long ago. I think the boxes are beautiful even though they have alot of issues. They still open and close good and stack inside each other. The large box is the roughest the other two don't have near the character(misuse) as the large box outer box. Other than that, everything is in very good to excellent original condition. AGES range from the early 40's to the 1990's. If you need specific measurements, please let me know. Most of these are just pretty standard size. These will come in handy for YOUR displays, safe keeping for jewelry, a great box to present a gift in, and a nice load for the collector! Twelve hypodermic needles that were produced between 1940- 1960. I tried to pin down a closer date of manufacture. But details on the company are sketchy other than it was founded in the late 1800's and appears to still be in existence today as CareFusion. The needles are still in the original box and holder. The plastic covering them is intact and has not been removed and replaced as far as I can tell(no adhesive or heat was used to seal them) The inner packaging looks pristine. The needles all have wires inserted in them that are meant for cleaning of the cannula for reuse prior to sterilization. You are not going to find something like this very often. The outer box shows wear from being stored over the years. But the contents look like they were produced yesterday. This two piece set of antique 3/8 inch steel punches was made by Miller Falls Company. Greenfield Massachusetts in the early 1900's. Each of the sets, consisting of one numeric and one alphabetic series, comes in a solid wooden box. The smaller set. Which measures 3& 1/2 inches high, 3 inches long and 3 inches wide, consists of 9 numerical punches. It is complete and still bears a Miller Falls Co. red and cream label. The larger alphabetic set measures 8& 1/4 inches long, 3& 1/2 inches high& 3 inches wide. It contains 24 letters and a"dot" punch. It is missing the"P" and"Q" punches. The steel punches in both sets are in very good condition. The wood box for each is made from a solid block of wood with holes drilled to accommodate and protect the punches. ANTIQUE Vintage MINING Tin METAL SQUIB BOXES Locked Seam ORIGINAL Box 1 DOZEN !!
Hello and welcome to our auction! Up for bid today is a fantastic find from a recent estate sale. We're offering an original box of one dozen. Locked seam new-old-stock tin squib boxes- manufacturer unknown. What remains of the box itself is extremely fragile with missing pieces and held in place with string. Although the majority of the box is detached and in pieces. The lettering is easily legible. We handled it as carefully as possible while taking pictures. We didn't want to remove any of the contents to avoid additional damage to the cardboard. We were able to lift a flap to get a full side shot of one of the squib boxes and are relatively sure there are a dozen present. They fill out the cardboard completely. We've taken care to include closeups for your review and to best illustrate our description. These boxes peaked our ... morecuriousity so we checked out the web and found this definition: Simply put. They were used by the mining industry to keep sulphur squibs(a.k.a. fuses) dry. It's defined as: A squib generally consists of a small tube filled with an explosive substance, with a detonator running through the length of its core, similar to a stick of dynamite. Also similar to dynamite, the detonator can be a slow-burning fuse. Squibs were once used in coal mining to break coal away from rock. In the 1870s, some versions of the device were patented and mass-produced as"Miners' Safety Squibs" With this information. We feel comfortable in our belief that these squib boxes are antiques of 100+ years of age. c1910's Baccarat crystal antique perfume bottle Roger & Gallet orig. boxes
Excellent near mint condition on bottle( microscopic chip to very tip of stopper& some small chips on end of stopper tongue. Part that goes into bottle) Small chunk/ chip on base of bottle that shows very slightly. Labels have darkened but is entirely original& intact. It is the thick embossed foil that could polish up by I left it alone as I like the original, genuine aging process& qualities of the items we offer. Wear to both boxes, primarily small box is missing the interior linings& the large box is very good but fragile condition( needs some restoration) Considering the age& silk material. They are in amazing but imperfect condition. The lock& key are original& functioning. Originally this had the perfume, a powder, and a travel soap. The soap was used long ago, the powder was accidentally destroyed& ... moreif you hav an appropriate powder& soap you have a rare complete pre 1920 set with an original period Baccarat bottle& box, plus the rare"trousseau" box. Bottle is 4+3/4 inches tall. All crystal, unsigned but with correct period Baccarat pontil fabrication marks, small faint hand etched roman numeral Vll outside of pontil. Small box is 5+1/4 inches tall. Large box is 8+3/4 inches square.
