I purchased these to install on my ... morevillage home. But moved to the country, took the shutters with me and none fit this house. I need the space in the barn, so they all must go. These have a closed width of 28 inches(14� each shutter) and have an overall height of 70 3/4�. Making them a bit odd in size. Both shutters have the original mounting hardware, and has one sash lock. The shutter on the left is missing the sash lock, and is loose at the corner(see detail pictures) All louvers are present, although one or two may be loose(not hooked to the vertical bar) and while they move and open, they are a bit sticky. Both have two coats of green(were they ever painted any other color? and both will need a better cleaning. This is the only pair I have of this size. I am also offering two sets of louvered shutters. 14�x 54� in another auction, and also have 5 sets of shutters, 14�x63� that will be offered in the future. If you're in need of a nice set of louvered shutters. Whether for your house restoration, display project or furniture design, these may be worthy of your consideration. Vermont Federal house. All of these shutters have original green milk paint and their original hardware. They were recently taken off a house on a repaint. Please note that at least 10 sets have original strap hinges and hand cut screws and are around the 1820 period with the balance of shutters having original hardware and paint. Dating from around the 1840’s. The later shutters were from an early addition put on the house around 1840. All of the shutters have wooden pins holding the full mortise and tenon construction. A big plus is that these shutters do not have multiple layers of paint. Making them even more desirable. When we photographed these shutters. We photographed one of the pair on the front and the other on the back. One of the last photos show the hand cut screw with the next photo being the shutter it was taken from. If you want original 19th century shutters for your early house restoration project or would like them for interior accents. They will certainly make a great statement for your decorating.
