10 Vintage 1920's Exterior House Shutters Half Moon Design Up for au ction are 5 pair s of vintage wooden shutters in their original paint. Each has a darling half-moon design cu t into it. Removed from a home built around 1900 and updated in the 1920's with these shutters. They were removed in the 1940's and have been stored since then. Eight shutters meas ure approximately 14" x 54" x 1 1/8" and two measure 14" x 42" x 1 1/8. Each one has a pair of hinges on them. The larger shutters weight about 11 pounds each and the shorter ones are 9 pounds each. Shipping is quoted via UPS. They can also be picked up free near Rochester. New York.

Antique large wood exterior shutter. 18 in. wide by 55 in. long and 1 1/2" thick. Made from three 6" x 3/4" boards with two 4" x 3/4" x 16" long cross boards. The shutter is heavy, made from a hardwood, perhaps oak but we don't know for sure. Each board has beveled edges along their length. Weight of shutter is 15 pounds. It is painted a reddish brown with a red coat underneath. On the backside the boards are rough and painted white. It has been cleaned up and ready to use. One side is red and the other side is a darker red-like a maroon. This is one complete pair. The shutter hardware is included but I don't have the hardware that attaches to the house. They are the mortise and tenon design and feature wooden peg joinery. These are in very good condition for their age. The frames are still tight and rigid with a little bit of weakness where the latches are on the bottom. The latch on the bottom of the left shutter is loose and will have to be strengthened. The hinges and locks are attached to the shutters but I don't have the other hinge that attaches to the house. The last photo shows the beautiful red color of the front ... moreshutters better than the photos of the actual shutter listed-I included this last photo so you can get an idea of the exact color. I have more and will combine shipping! These are well made vintage shutters that have scratches. Marks, cracks or oth er characteristics typical of an item this age. 32 pieces or 16 matching sets- Great Condition. Mortise and tenon. Wood doweled, moveable slat(I think that is called"Plantation style" antique house shutters. Came from 150 years old house. Perfect for those trying to find enough shutters for a whole house. Very difficult to find multiple matching sets. They are all the same size: 62 1/2" long. 16 3/8" wide each(32 1/4" closed as a set) and 1" thick. They have a beaded edge overlap edge and 1 7/8" wide slats. They are painted. But will need a good cleaning, and a repaint. 3 are in need of minor repair, all the rest are in good condition. Would like to sell as 1 lot. No shipping. Local pick up only. Pair of narrow antique Victorian wood window shutters measure about 74 3/4" tall x 9 1/4" wide x 1 1/8" thick each and are in as found condition. They have mortise& tenon/ pegged construction. Movable louvers and the remnants of old blue and white paint. Shutters are weathered with some cracks, splits, chips to wood, flakey chipping paint, two corners on one shutter have chunks broken off, 4 louvers are detached from the bar that moves them, wonderful imperfections from 100+ years of use. Louvers move slightly.

These shutters are handcrafted pieces made of solid wood with mortise and tendon joinery. Shutter Size is about 50 1/2"x 12 1/2" This is a Very Nice Vintage, The slats open eazy has one staple missing on one slat, In Great Condition! I'm offering NINE PAIRS of vintage wood shutters salvaged from an antique home in Connecticut. The shutters feature a crescent or quarter moon cut out. Board and batten construction, and original hardware. Each shutter measures 56" x 15.5" x 3/4" and is p ainted a dark red with older green paint visible on the reverse side. I'm not sure of age. But I would guess first half of the 20th century. The house dated to the teens or 1920s. They appear to be older judging from the hardware and quality of construction, but I'm not an expert. Condition Enlarge photos to closely ... moreexamine them for condition. They are a critical part of the description. Every shutter is shown front and back between the two group pictures on each end. Great condition for their age. No significant rot or decay. Weathered. Or naturally distressed from years of being outside in the elements. Unfortunately. I couldn't clean them because my hose is shut off for the winter, so they are dirty in the pictures, but should clean up well. Please ask any questions before bidding.
