Vintage Blue Floral Wing Back Chair
Great looking blue floral wing back chair. It is 42 1/2" H x 28" W x 28" depth. I am the original owner and bought it in the early 80's. It has always been in a smoke free environment. Upon close inspection there are fine lines of white thread that can be seen through the fabric. Some fading and light browning also in the fabric(not bad) and minor spots of general wear. This can be seen in photos. The brown wood legs and wood bar attaching the legs have some scratches/ scuff marks plus a small nick on the back leg.also seen in photos. On the very bottom underneath the chair there is a thin black fabric that is covering the bottom. A little droopy but can be tightened. Having pointed all this out, the chair is still in very good condition. There are no holes. The cushion is reversible with it being quilted on one side and ... moreflat floral on the other side. Thank you for looking! This is a set of 4 Atomic Era Mid Century wrought iron patio chairs in very good original condition! They look to have been originally white and were painted green. They do not have the seat cushions which are probably a round plywood maybe about an inch or so thick originally with a leather or pleather cover. I saw a set once that appeared to be the original white with yellow seats. They have some surface rust here and there. But I see no bad areas or damage or anything. The welds are all strong and secure. The wing back is very pronounced and they look so, so retro. They are 20 in's wide wing to wing because of the rounding of it. But actual surface for the back to lean on is like 22 in's. This is a very nice chair made with superior craftsmanship and attention to detail. This chair is very comfortable and rock solid; it is as sturdy as it was when it was made. The fabric is a orange gold that has minimal normal wear no holes. Burns, rips, odors or repairs. The arms and seat are a little darker and could use a cleaning. There are no major stains perhaps a couple of very minor small spots. I have not attempted any cleaning on this chair and I suspect it will clean up real well. The back seems a little brighter with a little more orange. The fabric is odor free and did not have any pet hair on it when I acquired it but I do not know the history of this chair as I got it second hand. But we’ve been importing it for years, and it’s always about the same age. This one is in dark oxblood, with antique brass tacks around the high shapely wings that come down into a cushioned arm, which also has brass antique tacks, and then into a cabriole-style Chippendale leg. It has a removable cushion and a buttoned and pleated back. It’s a traditional old wing back chair that is very popular in offices around the country, and in front of fireplaces, we might add. I have one sitting right in my master bedroom that looks really nice. The overall size is 36 inches on the outside of the wings, 32 inches wide on the outside of the arms, 19 inches wide on the inside, 24 inches deep on the cushion, 27 inches deep from back to front, 41 inches high to the top of the back, and 18 inches high to the cushion. Circa 1970's Wing Back Chair This is a very nice 1970's French Provincial Wing Back Chair. It has a nice light pinkish/cream colored fabric in good condition. The arm rest and back has extra fabric covers included. Nice Louis XV style front legs. Overall the chair is in very good condition. Solid with no movement but has some minor nicks on the base/legs and there is a white haze above the left arm rest. Both can be seen from the photos, not terribly bad but we have to mention.
