It ... morehas always been in my family. The oldest sibling of my father's family in 1914 or so was the 1st user of this chair. We don't have room for it any more. It measures 25 1/4" high. 21" long rocking legs, 14" long arms with a 12" square seat. The seat cover now is a green velour fabric. Originally there was a leather cover for the seat. Under the seat fabric is a newer piece of wood for its bottom. There is a crack in the back of the chair that is shown in the last photo which does not go all the way through to the front. An early 1900's,4 slat rear mission style solid oak rocking chair. i am not sure if this is a gustav stickley or a piece from another similar manufacturer of the time. The seat is heavy and obviously reupholstered in the native indian motif. This rocker is solid with no loose pieces whatsoever. It does have have some knicks and scratches from use, and will need a good cleaning with some murphys soap, but overall a super fine example. Please ask any and all questions before bidding. Up for your bidding consideration is the wonderful signed. Gustav Stickley H Back Chair. I purchased this stunning piece from an estate sale in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It was a one owner chair, in the family for over 100 years! It is in good shape considering its over 100 years old. The red Gustav Stickley stamp can still be seen on the chair. The style of stamp tells me its 1904-1907. The chair is still tight for its age, but does have flaws. The center back piece has some cracks, may have been repaired. I don't know if it has been recovered, but I would assume it has. It has a stamp underneath on the pad and I can only read"bose co. The chair has some scratches ... moreand the lower legs have some discoloring. The chair legs also have a pet odor to them. I haven't tried to clean the chair, to see if the smell would go away. Its over 100 years old and if it were my chair I would just leave it the way it is. Its a piece of American History, made by a true American Craftsman, Gustav Stickley. I have only seen one other of these chairs in 22 years of collecting and dealing Arts& Crafts. I believe this is Shop of the Crafters. The original untouched fumed finish is 95+% and this has the original Oil cloth seat with the original hand wrought tacks. This is precisely how I got it from an estate today. There are a few minor things I want to mention for accuracy. There is a natural split on the bottom of the back foot, there was a split on one lobe of the side of the clover cutout on top and a small split on the side of the seat, all of which is easily fixable. Honey. I shrunk the Stickley Morris chair" Antique rare Stickley Brothers child's Morris chair w/ new leather cushions. All quartersawn oak. The size is 20-1/2" wide. 23" deep measured at the arms, and 30" tall when the back is in the forward pin location. Marked three times.signed w/ metal Quaint tag. Has the inkstamped production number, and there is the single tack nail that once held the oval paper label(now missing) Very good condition! The only exception is a chip missing on underside of the right arm at the rear(see last photo) Oak frame is solid. Tapered arms mimic the frame that splays out back to front. Early slatted seat support. Ladder style back adjusts w/ removable pins. New cushions are nice w/ corded edges. Tabs at the top of the back cushion, high quality foam, zippered bottom of back cushion for ease ... moreof insertion/removal of back filling and ventilation. Durable thick leather. The dimensions of the three regular chairs are 37 1/2" Tall at the back. 18 1/2" tall in front at the sitting point, The front is 18 1/2" wide and the rear is 15 1/2" wide, the chair is 17" deep. The arm chair is 39" Tall in the rear, 18" Tall to the seat, 26 1/2 Tall to the arms, the front is 23" wide, the rear is 18" wide, the arms are 21" wide at the rear and 26 1/2" wide at the front. The arm chair is 18" deep. These chairs are really solid and are in great condition with a few marks from regular use from over the years. This is a beautiful Raised Outline Navajo Weaving T his is a nice Mission Oak Arm Chair. Made by the Stickley Brothers company, Grand Rapids. Michigan) around 1910. The chair is made of solid quarter-sawn white oak. The chair is in excellent condition with normal wear. Minor nicks, scratches and a few paint spatters. There is some water staining on on back post as well as a water ring on the arm(see photos) The joints are all solid and tight, with no looseness. 2342 Flat Arm chair plans. Designed by Gustav Stickley. Dimensions: 32W 37D 41H The 2342 Flat Arm chair shown in the picture was made from these plans. These are life size plans of the Arts& Crafts period furnishings I've made over the past 14 years. The dimensions came from either measuring originals or from customers who wanted me to re-create their originals. Actually. When I started making these works I found that most of the plans on the market did not come out as shown on the picture that came with the plans, nor the originals. Then this would be a good option for you. With 14 years of experience in creating reproduction Arts and Crafts period furnishings I'm now offering these hand laced upholstery cushions for your already existing chairs. This is a great opportunity to have your chair upholstered the same way Stickley upholstered his original works. Order Information: Leather- Either supply a hide or select leather from my leather samples at cost price. Samples are mailed out for you to select the color in person. If you would like to supply your own hide. A 45- 50 sqft leather hide is enough for the average size chair, 24" x 24" seat cushion and 22" x 26" backrest ... morecushion. Leather hides vary in cost, from $100 to $350 depending on the quality of the leather. I prefer using a naked type leather that is $6.50/sqft. Naked leather is leather that has been dyed, with no other finishes applied. Naked leather is more expensive, because they use a higher grade of leather with few blemishes. This leather comes from a tannery in Italy, I buy it at a wholesale price from their sister company in the USA. Foam- The cost of foam depends on the size of your cushions. On average you are looking at $120 for foam and other supplies needed to make the cushions. Shipping- Shipping is by FedEx and on average cost $65 depending on where you live. Seat Support Frames- I offer seat support frames if you require one. This will even work if you have a spring type seat and would like to switch to a loose cushion. Stickley chair 1900s Early Rare 4068 1/2
Up for Auction is a very rare and early Stickley Brothers of Grand Rapids Chair. It has an interesting cutout in the back. It has engraved Stickley Bros. Co Grand Rapids and number 4068 1/2. The Stickley Brothers Museum stated that it was from the Quaint line however it doesnt have the quaint signature mark which leads me to believe its early 1900s. With any chair or item of this age there is typical wear to the chair as the pictures show. I didn't want to touch it with any cleaning or polish as I know many like to have it as is. There are wear and scratch marks on chair. The screws are the old kind as you can tell. I've never seen a Stickley Brothers Chair of this style. Description: This is a superb antique Stickley very large cube chair. It dates from the early 1900s Mission and Arts& Crafts period and is in excellent condition. The piece is made of superb quarter sawn oak with the original finish. The piece has an excellent cube form that is big and bulky with arms that are 1" thick. It features very large slats on the sides and back. The arms. Sides and posts have pinned through tenons. The chair has the Stickley Quaint plate underneath and the numbers 808 1/2 or 908 1/2 stenciled on the underside. The seat cushions are covered in leather or faux leather. Antique Stickley Chair RARE Lounge Style Fayetteville Syracruse NY *1 of a kind*
An amazing and unusual find. I was told by the people who inherited this chair that it is an antique Stickley Gout chair. Made in( Fayetteville) Syracuse, NY. As shown it has an extra set of legs that extend the chair out to 30" x 27" wide. The cushion is missing but the original chair material can be seen in the last picture of the tear in the underside. The base of the chair is 28" w x 30" d x 11" h. Back of the chair is 34" high. Very sturdy, well made, one of a kind chair. The one issue with the chair is a missing section of wood on the front leg. This is not the result of a break but is a seam where two boards were joined. It appears that the glue failed and the piece was lost. A repair is very possible and would likely be invisible if done skillfully. I’ve only owned this for the past 15 years. So I don’t know the exact age of this piece, but I assume it’s relatively modern. Be aware that this is a Pickup Only item. I don't have any interest in shipping this item whatsoever. Based on the time it would use up for me to pack and ship this. I would have to charge at least $100 over shipping costs and that might add up to $400 or so. So hopefully someone in the surrounding Milwaukee/Madison/Greater Chicagoland area will have enough interest to make the effort to drive over here and pick it up. Approximate sizing is 29 ½” tall. 26” wide, and 24” deep. Recently purchased a well-made rocking chair at an ... moreestate and since moving into a smaller condo. I have to get rid of whatever I replace because I don’t have enough storage space to keep extras of anything. So out goes my Stickley which for me was a sitting/waiting chair by the doorway. The finish is original and except for the usual signs of well maintained reasonable use. This chair is in great condition and has a super nice mature dark cherry finish on it. There are signs of wear from hands on the ends of the arms. The usual slight but still clearly visible scratches on the seat from men’s keys/pocket stuff(see pics, the worst one does penetrate through the finish and into the wood) and slight scuffs in various locations in various places on the chair’s surface. But unless you’re a perfectionist. There’s no way this thing needs or should ever get a refinish. No major nicks. Dings, or gouges whatsoever. There are two 6’s or 9’s stamped on the underside of the seat along with an inked 7086. Pretty much what you see with this one is what you get—but the wear and tear I described is still there whether or not it is visible in the photos. An arm chair, leather seat looks original, finish i believe is original, has remnants of a paper label underneath, the mark is a wood burn. measurements- just under 26" high. 18" wide arm to arm. 13 1/4" deep from front foot to back foot, seat is 15 1/4" wide and 12 1/2" deep. condition- pretty amazing given the age. The worst thing i see is a spot of wear on the seat like something dripped on it, this could probably be touched up somehow, seat looks good and if you look underneath the backing cloth is torn a bit but it doesn't affect anythinng. i see one scratch to the leather on the back edge, minor wear at the front arms, overall one of the nicer examples of this chair you will find, i haven't done anything to it and am selling it just as i found it. why is this item listed ... moreat 5 times the price i actually want to sell it for? i'm glad you asked. when you sell on ebay the fees come to about 15- 20% these days. Antique drop in spring seat unit from a large Arts& Crafts era armchair or rocker. Size: Front to back.22-1/2" deep Width across the front.22" wide Width across the rear.20-7/8" wide Thickness.3-1/2" tall Has notched corners for the posts. This is from an original antique Stickley chair.but I can't remember which one.it might be from the Gus 323 or 324. I believe it is missing the wood framework that it would be attached to. Rare stickley arts and crafts period Plail Brothers barrel chair
Rare Plail Bros Barrel chair. It does have partial label. Original medium dark finish. This chair appears it may have been a rocker but still these pieces do not come around often. Back leg has a chip of the wood out and a small veneer crack on back rail. This is common though for the age. I have another with the same rail veneer crack. Pegged construction. Very sturdy and good condition. It has the original spring cushion but with replaced seat cover. There is a Picture of the 2 with the shorter one that is for sale. This is a very beautiful and early mission chair. I was told it was made by Stickley when I bought it 10 years ago. It is in great condition! The finish is dark brown.
