Very good overall condition, This elegant oak monks chair was crafted in England around 1900. Which places it at the close of the Victorian period and the beginning of the Edwardian period. The oak remains very beautiful, with a lovely patina and a distinct grain. Intricate carvings adorn the front, while the armrests feature turned columns. The most unique feature of this chair is the folding backrest, which drops down and slides forward to make this chair into a two-tiered side table. The seat also opens to reveal a small storage space, making this chair as useful as it is charming. The right armrest has developed a small separation in the wood, which is part of the natural aging process, and there are a few scuffs characteristic of an antique piece, but otherwise this chair remains quite attractive and sturdy. Very nice all original UHL Toledo Draftsman pivoting chair with wooden casters. This is the first one I have had with quartersawn tiger oak seat and back. The height adjustment(15-1/4" to 18-1/4" is made via the metal plates under the seat. O riginal military green finish base with only normal light surface wear. No damage. Very sturdy. An excellent chair. By removing 4 wing nuts the seat easily separates from the base- I have priced shipping based on my doing this to reduce the package size. Im told by a reputable person that the wood is walnut, possibly elm arms, and a newer oak seat, its constuction is mortise and peg, these mortises have been made in a random way, as on 1 arm the mortise goes all the way up, and no sign of this on the other, the same goes for the legs, 1 hase fully through mortise, there has been worm to the back, and legs, the front feet have been repaired with oak blocks, i think te supports under the seat have also been replaced,very sound, hard to age this chair, though, surely minimum of 300 years id think

1911 KOKEN CONGRESS MISSION OAK BARBER CHAIR
Koken Barbers Supply. St. Louis, mfgd. this fine mission oak style barber chair between 1895 and 1911 per the brass plate on the back of the chair. The quartersawn oak has been refinished and the chair has been freshly reupholstered with a high quality tooled faux leather vynil that looks and feels like leather. The hardware has been sprayed with a hammered paint finish. The chair turns and swivels freely and pumps up/down. It can be made to recline by loosening two screws which control the tension on the recliner shaft. Unlike many barber chairs of this era, this one still has the original brake which locks or stabilizes the chair. There is a repair, as shown in pic, on a small section of the ornate base ring. This auction is for a neat older solid oak spinning wheel chair from England. It's a very pretty chair with extensive carving on it's back and also on the seat. This chair is the real deal. It's not a reproduction that trying to be passed off as an antique. It's also made out of Solid Oak, most, around 90% are made out of Mahogany. It has pretty turned post legs and a nice Dark Oak Patina. It's solid without rot or worm damage and ready to sit out and enjoy. Most of these chairs have a single"peg" under the seat that holds the back in place with the seat, but this one has two(2) pegs holding the back in place. Ornate OLD Oak Chair w CARVED Design of a MAN a KING
This is very ornate old chair. Oak, with a carving of a man on the front. It stands tall. The seat is removeable, so you can recover it if you like, there is oak underneath that. It has carving on the seat, and the legs, and the man is on the back. It is in very good condition, showing normal, yet light, signs of age. I cannot pack this, so it will need to be picked up. I will be happy to assist if you can find someone to pack it for you. You will have to work out shipping details with the packer. I am west of Erie, PA apprx 20 minutes, and 2 hours from Pittsburgh. Antique English Oak Victorian Side Hall Chair Carved Rare Piece Petite Nice Old This is a beautiful antique English oak chair. It's measurements are as follows. It is 33 inches tall to the back of the chair. The seat of the chair is 17 inches from the ground. The back of the chair is 14 inches wide at it's widest point. The seat itself is 17 inches wide in the front and 13 inches wide in the back. The chair is quite old and as such has some condition issues. It has 2 splits on the back that I have tried to take pictures of. One can't be seen at all from the front of the chair. In the case of this chair I would suggest that it be mostly ornamental in nature. Even if this chair were perfect it would not be made to support the average American these days. A small person could sit in this chair with no problems, but I would not suggest ... morethis chair for everyday use. It is really meant to be placed somewhere to look pretty. Even with it's condition issues it still makes a very beautiful display piece for someone looking for a nice antique chair. I don't know it's exact age. An early 1900's,4 slat rear mission style solid oak rocking chair. i am not sure if this is a gustav stickley or a piece from another similar manufacturer of the time. The seat is heavy and obviously reupholstered in the native indian motif. This rocker is solid with no loose pieces whatsoever. Antique Miniature Salesman's Sample Mission Oak Combination Chair Table in Case
Very nice antique mission oak combination folding table/chair salesman's sample in original case Circa 1900's. The table top measures 5 7/8" x 4 7/16" and stands 5 3/8" tall as a table and 6 1/2" tall when folded back into a chair. It even has a little drawer under the seat. The case measures 5 5/8" x 5 7/8" x 7 1/2" The handle is broken off the case but is included. The chair/table itself is in nice shape and folds as it should. The case in good shape with nothing loose or broken aside from the handle. I did some searching and the full size version can be found. On Feb-22-13 at 00:15:08 PST.
