Very good overall condition, This elegant oak monks chair was crafted in England around 1900. Which places it at the close of the Victorian period and the beginning of the Edwardian period. The oak remains very beautiful, with a lovely patina and a distinct grain. Intricate carvings adorn the front, while the armrests feature turned columns. The most unique feature of this chair is the folding backrest, which drops down and slides forward to make this chair into a two-tiered side table. The seat also opens to reveal a small storage space, making this chair as useful as it is charming. The right armrest has developed a small separation in the wood, which is part of the natural aging process, and there are a few scuffs characteristic of an antique piece, but otherwise this chair remains quite attractive and sturdy. Overall condition is therefore very good. The sides look great. Shown here is the other side. Shown here is the back. The seat opens to reveal a convenient storage space. The oak displays a distinct grain. This seat remains as sturdy as it is elegant. With intricate carvings along the front. The chair number is 10-6040(hard to read in the photos) manufactured ... morein plant#14 in the popular nutmeg color. This is a mates chair and although it have those little stubby"arms" it is not to be confused with the actual captain's chair of this style that has much longer arms. These were produced for a number of years by Ethan Allen for a few of their lines including Traditional and Early American. There is no damage to the chair and only a few tiny dings or scratches from normal use. There is very light wear to the very tip of the top rail and tip of the"arms" All the joints are nice and tight. It is in the popular nutmeg color and the finish is very good. It has been thoroughly cleaned and polished with butchers wax. It is 29 1/2" tall with a 17" seat height. The height of those stubby"arms" is only 25 1/4" so these chairs can be tucked tightly under the apron of most tables. Leaving more floor space in a smaller dining area. As for the chair it is very comfortable due to the great formed seat work that Ethan Allen was noted for in all of their lines from this period. It is constructed of maple and built to last for generations. As always, feel free to ask any questions and I'll get right back to you. The cushions are in very good original condition and they store in the cubby under the chairs. These chair measure 22" long x 20" wide x 10" tall when folded. Vintage 1940s / 1950s Dining Room Set With Six Chairs
I have for auction this vintage dining room set with six chairs.The table is 73" L by 41" W including the leaf. My dad recently passed away and he was storing it in the basement of his condo. He had the pad on it which caused some marring to the wood. Please see the pictures for condition. I believe this was purchased in the 40s or 50s as I recall it in my home in the early 60s. The basement is dry so I don't see any issues there. This will have to be local pick up only in Plymouth.MI. If anybody is interested in seeing the set before bidding I can arrange that. Vintage 12 piece Table Bench and Chairs 3D wooden Puzzle three Demensional Rare!
This is a really cool 3D puzzle I found at a local estate auction. There are 12 pieces. There is a repair on the table and bench( It has been glued) Seems to be nice and tight and doesn't effect how the puzzle goes together or how it sits when apart. There is also a bit of roughness on one of the chairs and a chip off the top of the other chair. Please see all pictures. The white you see on the table is a stick on price tag someone put on at some point. Put together this puzzle measures 5 1/4 long. 3 inches high, and 2 1/2 inches wide.
