The chair is in very good condition, with only some light surface scratches on it, that are typical of such an old piece. There are a few areas where the finish is damaged, or chipped off, and these can be seen in the photos. It has a carved splat back with a woven rush seat. The seat has obviously been redone, and is in very good condition, with only light signs of wear. The chair has sabre legs on the front, and turned tapering legs on the back. There is some slight separation at the back on the side of the vase where this portion of the splat connects to the supports.

The seat is a nice size and is covered in needlepoint. We are not sure if the finish and covering are original. But they are very old that is for sure. The chair is solid but has a repair at the back side piece. The chair needs a good polishing it has been stored all winter. The chair measures 42" tall by18 1/2" by 14" deep. Condition: Used Location: Chicago, United States Available is an antique Heywood Wakefield Victorian wicker chair. It is not a reproduction. I don't know the year it was made. But I was told by an ... moreexperienced antique dealer that it was 19th century. Condition is good. I don't want the chair to sound worse than it is, but I also want to describe any condition issues. It does have a few minor breaks in the gingerbread filigree, but they are very few and very minor and could easily be repaired. I have enjoyed the chair as it is. Considering its age, the chair is in great condition. If I live to be as old as this chair I hope I am in this good condition! The chair measures about 42 inches tall to the top of the chair, the front to back width is about 22 inches, while the left to right width is about 20 inches. Here is a description of the breaks. I don't want this to sound worse than it is. But I want to be accurate. See photos as well. The damage is minor, and mostly is to the curly-cue decorations. It appears that they could be glued. In the case of a missing piece, it would involve a piece of cane and beads. Here it is: at top of the back of seat there is a break at the left and right side. Some wicker"ties" that hold the decorations together are missing. In the middle, there are 2 breaks in the gingerbread, but these could be glued. On the opposite side there is a piece of missing cane and beads. I have seen replacement beads for sale, as well as cane. The wood seat is warped, but I was able to sit in the chair. The seat is still serviceable, but you may want to replace it either with wood or cane. If the chair is turned over the original cane is visible, so this once had a cane seat. There is one curly-cue on the back of the leg that is broken, but it could be glued. As can be seen in the photos, there is some paint loss, however that is to be expected. The wicker underneath on the leg is in fine condition. I am willing to work with you on shipping. However I have made this customer pick-up. To be shipped, this would have to be sent in a

The upper rectangular bronze is stunning with angels& dragon griffins all having the same colour at background on each as the colour shown in the center- which is a very rich burgundy velvet- in addition to all of this bronze there are many square openwork bronze motifs surrounding the entire burgundy velvet at center- please see photos. I bought this in France and keep it for myself seeing the appearance is so striking and so gorgeous- I am now re-doing my room and decided to sell this beauty. The center ribbed wood as shown has markings( as shown in photos) from age however this is only natural and being an antique this is so minor. in addition the center bottom pole is warped as shown also however again this is minor as this is a high quality hand crafted treasure and its not only rare but truly a gorgeous piece of furniture to add to any room in your home. The center velvet still remains stunning as shown in addition to all the bronze motifs. It also comes with more long bronze antique hooks as you see I have only one showing in my photos. I have an additional 3 more to fit inside all the holders at upper. A few of these hooks are stripped due to age however when I used it I added a little cotton around the tip of the hooks to make it tighter and then they held for me. The wood has magnificent carved details both on the inside of the arms, as well as all other exposed wood areas. Please review all photographs provided, as they show more detail. The top crest rail has a center stylized carved clamshell. The knuckles of the arms are detailed with carved. Layered acanthus leaves. The two front legs have trumpeted baluster formation, with metal casters at the bottom. The front nose rail(bottom front) of the chair is heavily carved with scrolled detail. The rear legs are also on metal casters. The left rear leg has losses to the wood, however, the caster is still attached. Professional repair is strongly suggested if the chair will be used other than solely for decorative or display use. The upholstery is clean and in excellent condition. Showing no signs of wear or use. The velvet upholstery fabric is trimmed with matching upholstery gimp trim. No stains, odors or worn areas. Very good upholstery job. Gorgeous solid black walnut slant top writing desk. Circa 1820-1860 I rescued this diamond in the rough. It had many many coats of white paint hiding this beautiful black walnut wood. I lovingly& meticulously hand restored this desk back to full glory. I restored the finish with many. Many coats of hand rubbed shellac, maintaining the antique warm glow, rubbed to a silky smooth, yet allowing the beautiful grain textures to be felt. There was a trim around the back of the top which was missing. I custom made this new back rail trim using reclaimed 250 year old black walnut. The period solid walnut hand carved drawer pulls are from a Victorian dresser The harp shaped end is gorgeous and rare. As you can easily see with its cone shaped finial on the end of the hand turned support which joins it to the drawer base. The slant top is fixed ... morein position. There is no lid that lifts up, this was designed as a writing desk, dating back to the quill pen days. There is an age shrinkage split in the top which I chose not to restore. It gives great character to this lovely piece. The drawer lock mechanisms are missing.I restored all the drawers. Carefully taking them all apart and regluing them all and now they are rock solid and slide excellently. Full depth drawers with lots of storage. The desk is finished on all sides.It is a showpiece from all angles. I purposefully left some character marks remain in this desk such as tiny chip of wood.left top edge) pinholes etc, they give this desk awesome character, I was not trying to create a reproduction piece I try and respect the antique with all of its age, history and character. ANTIQUE Victorian wooden table CIRCULAR round CLAW FEET 1880 vintage furniture
ANTIQUE VICTORIAN ROUND TABLE A delightful circular antique wooden table. Dating to around 1880. It boasts four original claw feet. Gripping onto the leg bases, all of which are carved from the same piece of wood as the leg. They are on the original Victorian metal rounded tips. Completely original and unaltered with regards to its structure! The joints are mainly glued into place. And there's very few metal screws in the construction. As you can see. It's got a number of scratches, dents and scuffs from over the years, and a bit of gentle restoration will have it looking simply superb. There are no signs of woodworm or damage from water or damp. While all measurements are as accurate as I can make them. They must be labelled as approximations, as I've rounded up and down rather than put in the millimeters. The top is 61cm in ... morediameter. Lip is 6cm. Then legs are 42cm. Total height is 48cm. The claw feet are 6cm square. This table has been varnished quite roughly at some point with a quite shiny varnish. Which looks rather glossy, so it's the perfect project if you're into removing the varnish and either revarnishing it with a matt varnish, or restoring it back to the original wood. If you like it how it is, however, then it's ready to use! Please note. All items sold are dispatched via courier and are tracked and insured.
