This one is a Stickley Brothers#790 rocker. ... moreThis form is very hard to find. We are glad it turned up and we gladly restored it. It is in excellent overall condition. And has very well matched new leather upholstery. The measurements are 36 inches tall, 27 1/2 outside arm, and 16 inches seat to floor. It has a great fumed oak color and grain, retains its brass Quaint Furniture tag. It is in 3 out of 4 known Stickley Brothers catalogs. This would be a welcome addition to any bungalow, mission oak, or Stickley- style household. Also a great chair for someone just starting out, as it is as comfortable as it is useful. The chair has a few dings and scratches and a very small section of the arm that is not perfect, but it is in used, not abused condition. It is sturdy and solid, and lots of life left to offer comfort and enjoyment for years to come. It is an antique and therefore one must consider age and character the reason to acquire vintage pieces in the first place. We love to answer questions and appreciate your interest. So rare I cannot find an ounce of info on the internet about these pieces. Only what I remember from having read Stickley catalogs at book shows and with speaking to the original owner. I have no idea what they are worth now. I just know the person who paid for them in 1954 paid under ten dollars for the set. photo of the actual receipt) and I purchased them in 2005 from an old woman for a considerable amount of money being that they were something I had never seen before with the Stickley label. They're both a stunning green with a beautiful gold guilded patina from the famous Stickley Brothers. These pieces were original created in the 1920's post Mission and Arts and Crafts style. But by the 1950s, the Colonial Revival taste was climbing again. First of all. I am no expert on antiques, however I have been working in furniture retail all my life and admire great quality and craftsmanship as this chair offers. I believe it has been made entirely of white oak and some of the pieces appear to be quartersawn. They have very large stripes which leads me to believe it to be older than 100yrs or close to it. Please correct me if I'm wrong as I will change my listing. As stated before, I'm no expert. I have looked all over for a gustov stickler stamp hoping this chair to be worth 10's of thousands of dollars but he prob didn't make many student chairs. There are no stamps or hallmarks. The back looks like simple 3 slat back design. It has 2 sets of stretchers with square tenons between each legs. They are all structurally sound. I cannot see any repairs on it at all. In fact. ... moreI just noticed taking these pics, that the crack I've seen for the last 8 yrs, isn't a crack at all. It's a joint where the seat is glued together from three planks of dovetails. They are in tact, refer to the pics for better description. You can see by the pics there has been use and some very old scratches probably from moving many years ago. I am only selling to free up space in my downsized newer home and would love to pass this along to someone who can admire it as much as I have the last decade. Her Grandparents bought the chair directly from Quaint Furniture in Grand Rapids. Mich. around 1940. The original owner(her Grandmother) covered the original inner spring cushion with some fabric and pinned it in place- and also covered the back with the same fabric. I have owned this chair for about 5 years and have done nothing to it. The chair is in great shape but there is a piece of coil popping through the cushion(see photos) Chair has quarter sawn oak throughout and nice patina! They are in very nice shape. There are no deep scratches or missing pieces. There are some scuffs and wear as to be expected from 93 + year old furniture. The piece is made of quarter sawn oak with a good finish. The upholstery has been redone and has little wear. The chair is stamped 76 and has the Sikes Company paper tag on it. This is a great chair that is both collectible and usable. The total height of the chair is 41.5 inches. New York and just made it's trek down to Northern Georgia. The fabric is a very light yellow with the red clover print you see, chosen by a New York socialite. It spent it's life in an estate in Upstate New York so it indeed has been used, but not abused. As you can see by the photos, there are some minor stains on the current fabric. NO HOLES, funny smells or major issues. This chair is solid and was just tightened up by a fine furniture specialist. Great Roycroft built dining chair from the Asheville. NC Grove Park Inn. Only 400 of these chairs were built for the dining room of the hotel, and that would have been in 1912-13. Then in 1920, the hotel had the arms added to 350 of the chairs, this being one of them. This chair is in great shape. I've had it for 10 years or so. And it's just time for it to be appreciated by someone else. I don't know that much about furniture, but I'm sure it's been refinished, and looks like the back slat was replaced some time long ago. The chair measures 32-1/2" tall and it is 24-3/4" wide and 21-1/2" deep without the rockers. The rockers are 32" The seat is 17" tall and 19" wide. The seat back is 19-3/4" tall. This is another great family piece. This was my grandfather's when he was a young child(born 1907) My late mother kept this chair forever. It has all the original mechanism brackets and bar. I think the cushions are not original. But are very old. They appear to have had buttons on them at one time. Cushions are not perfect, but are still very attractive on the chair. This auction is for an original Stickley rocking chair. It has the logo on the back of L&J.G. Stickley Handcraft. This chair dates to between 1907-1912. The chair measures approx. 36 1/4 inches tall 26.5 inches wide 31.5 inches deep. Seat height is approx. 16 inches high. Measurements are to furthest points. This chair is very well made and for the age and being used is in nice shape. The wood looks to have its original finish and really shows just light wear from use. The upholstery on the cushion was added at some point in its history. Could be left as is or reupholstered. I have shipping set up as pickup only but shipping or delivery could be arranged. The oldest sibling of my father's family in 1914 or so was the 1st user of this chair. We don't have room for it any more. It measures 25 1/4" high. 21" long rocking legs, 14" long arms with a 12" square seat. The seat cover now is a green velour fabric. Originally there was a leather cover for the seat. Under the seat fabric is a newer piece of wood for its bottom. There is a crack in the back of the chair that is shown in the last photo which does not go all the way through to the front.
