Up for auction is a vintage Hollywood Regency Style Vanity Stool. Made of heavy metal with gold gilt and ivory fabric seat cover. This is made much stronger than many of the wire framed seats in other listings. Very sturdy. I imagine that the seat cover has been replaced. This is a stylish Hollywood Regency boudouir or vanity stool that is in the fabulous mid-century 1950s to 1960's retro decor. Decorative goldtone metal frame with ornately scrolled design. This features a wooden plywood base. And has 1/2" foam underbase and this is with original red fake fur covering the seat. Exactly the right ambience for your Regency decor. The chair allows height up to 3" variance. Seat rotates to adjust; shown at 25" height, and the seat is 17" up to 20" off the floor and the backrest is 9" tall off the seat base. Wood seat diameter is 13" Rotates smoothly as should. Metal feet with flat base sits with stability, construction solid, no wobble. The term. Hollywood Regency" sometimes gets thrown around a lot. Hollywood Regency is actually a style, made popular in the movies from the 1930's and 1940's. It takes furniture from the Georgian and the Regency period and mixes them in moderne interiors. So even though it has made a revival, true vintage Hollywood Regency will be from the period of the 1930's to 1940's. With the combination of the slotted screws(picture# 8 is a good example) and the styling, I can comfortably and accurately say that this piece is authentically, one from the Hollywood Regency period. I retrieved the above history of Hollywood Regency from Wiki, when I was researching various sources) To me personally. When I hear the term, mid-century" I think of the 1950's and the 1960's, which produced excellent designs of furniture, chrome ... morepieces, etc. However, this glamorous chair was produced prior to 1950, and that is why I referred to this chair, as pre- Mid-Century. This is a beautiful piece from a very glamorous era. With every part of the chair, being original. Not only is it stylish with it's original green brocade upholstery and gold painted wrought iron(and metal) there is well over 2 inches of cotton padding for luxurious comfort. It is in very good vintage condition. But is not without some wear. It has retained most of the gold color paint. The wrought iron is excellent, with no breaks or breakouts. The upholstery looks gorgeous. Only when you are close and are looking for it, will you see what appears to be a slight, light tan stain/stains in a small area towards/ in the middle front. I don't think it is a stain, but slight wear of the fabric. Please see picture# 3, which is the middle front of the seat. Even though it is not obvious, in that picture, look to your left for the best view of what I am referring to. Other pictures I had taken, it didn't even show up. It was so nice that I had it professionally upholstered by my French upholsterer and it was nothing more than a decorative item in my diningroom. Except when my grandchildren came to visit during the holidays. Now, they are older, the chair is not needed and I want to redo my diningroom a bit different.so it's time to go. The fabric is a soft rose brushed cottom.like a suede feel. Pictures do it no justice. It rocks wonderfully, much nicer than alot of the old chairs. this listing is for 8 chairs Great set of brass finish(very nice heavy weight) faux bamboo style chairs.The upholstery needs to be redone. But because the back and seat are independently attached, this is a very easy/inexpensive job. There are some deep scratches on the frames and a lot of wear and patina all over. The chairs do have rust on the side rails and other areas. These are heavyweight steel chairs weighing 21 pounds each.the frames need to be refinished/repainted. The chairs are virtually indestructible. The upholstered backs can be removed and the chairs look even better! You can really see so much more detail this way(see 1st photo) But. ANTIQUE 1940s MID CENTURY FRENCH ENGLISH REGENCY SCROLL ARM CHAIR SILK FABRIC
We are pleased to offer this very beautiful. Antique to older vintage, French or English styled, Regency accent arm chair. This lovely old chair dates to the late 1940s. It features a gorgeous solid wood frame with beautiful, lower profile styling. The upper back frame is carved with acanthus leaf and acorn detail. The back legs are slightly curved and the front legs are fluted. The arms are scrolled which gives the chair a very lovely side profile. The chair has the original silk fabric in a golden hue. The fabric has a machine embroidered floral pattern. The flowers are a soft scarlet purple in direct light, but are more muted when not in direct light which gives the fabric great interest. The fabric is finished with nailhead trim. The chair has both the original manufacturer's tag as well as the furniture store tag still attached on ... morethe bottom. The chair was manufactured by the Charlotte Chair Company, Charlotte, Michigan. The chair was originally sold by the Furniture House in Columbus, Ohio. This is a beautiful. Chair in ORIGINAL fabric and finish. It is in very good condition with only VERY minor wear to the wood(it is in very good condition) The fabric has a spot of threading and some wear to the front corners of the seat as well as a couple of small stains on the seat. Otherwise, the chair is exceptional and it is STUNNING! The chair measures 33" tall. 27" deep(front to back) and 24" wide(seat front) The seat height is 16" The chair is weighty.
