BEAUTIFUL ANTIQUE FRENCH REGENCY CARVED WOOD CANE CHAISE CHAIR SOFA NAILHEAD 6'
We are pleased to offer this beautiful antique(late 19th century) chaise chair/sofa. This is a stunning piece that features an ornate. French Nouveau carved wood frame and tall cane back. The chaise is quite large, measuring 6 feet in length. The seating area is covered in a beautiful fabric with French styling. There are 8 legs which feature block and turned wood. Arched, carved wood stretchers attach in between each leg on the long sides. There are stretcher supports that also run under the chaise, but these are not decorative. The chaise has been painted white(not sure if it is original) It is in good antique condition. The paint is chipping/peeling. The cane in intact with a small worn area in the center. As expected, It is not as taut as it once was but it is not loose and is still attached. The frame is good with some"wiggle" ... moredo to its age. This can be resolved. The fabric is probably vintage as it is in very good condition with no rips, stains, etc. There is nail head trim which is also older. This is a gorgeous, old chaise with beautiful lines and aged charm. As stated. The chaise is quite large and measures 6 feet in length. It is 21" wide at the back. The seat is 18" tall, 20.75" wide and 59" long. The chaise is 49.5" tall and the back extends 29.5" tall from the seat. Shipping to be arranged by the purchaser. We will assist in any manner needed. Bench was made in the USA by PASCO- Pacific Cage and Screen Co. A real piece of Hollywood Regency history. The pale pink vinyl is worn thin and has two small 1/4" tears on the side edge. They're not very noticeable- but it would be an easy thing to re-cover. There's spotty rust on the wrought iron gold tone metal, especially near the bottom of the frame and legs. Down filled Couch and Chair Hollywood Regency
This is a 2 piece sofa and chair. Some years ago it was re-stuffed with down and recovered and is in great condition! We can not see any signs of wear and tear on the couch. The arm of the chair has 3 little spots that range from 1/4" to 1/2" It's likely that this couch was scotch guarded and it just needs to be cleaned. See the last 2 pictures- you have to look hard to see them. There are no holes. Tears, or rips. It is very comfortable since it is stuffed with down. This was in a room where no one was allowed to go into so it has had very little use. In the centre of the back of the chair are vertical brass spindles in the shape of a harpist’s musical instrument; this is why this type of chair is called a“Harpist’s chair” Further down. The chair has a circular seat, which has been freshly upholstered in a top quality wool and cotton tapestry fabric. The outer edge of the seat has been pleated to give a quality finish. The seat is stuffed with the original horsehair making it solid and firm to sit on. The seat can be raised or lowered by rotating the seat on a central wooden threaded screw. This is C 1825 English Regency Bergere made primarily from walnut burl. Unfortunately. A cat attacked this chair only days after refinishing and reupholstery. Please see the pictures. Fortunately. The cat was considerate enough to leave the chair odor free. This bergere has a scrolled crest rail. A curved back, and the arm rests are supported by scrolled and reeded uprights. The front serpentine legs end with small brass casters. The chair measures 41.5" high, 26.25" wide, 27" deep, with a 19.5" seat height. There are small scratches on the chair's frame here and there, and particularly on the left arm. Additionally, the walnut burl has imperfections inherent in the wood. We are pleased to offer this EXCEPTIONAL pair of French or English Regency styled arm chairs. The chairs feature SUPERIOR quality construction from the high end. CENTURY CHAIR COMPANY of Hickory, NC. The chairs date to around 1965 and feature mahogany wood frames with a medium to dark brown stain. The frames are exquisite with barley twist accents on the backs and front legs. The open back frames feature a center medallion with painted(factory finished) floral accent. The medallions are flanked on each side with a geometric, curved diamond fashioned of rounde"d wood. The tops of the chair backs have a straight line profile. On each side of the backs, where the arm attachments begin, the chairs have a painted(again, factory finished) garland/swag of ivy leaves. The chair frames feature gold gilded accents on the twists, chair backs and ... moreas an outline to the factory painted floral and leaf designs. The seats are generous and fabric covered. The fabric is BEAUTIFUL. It Is a gold, woven twill with sheen. The gold twill provides for light and darker gold highlights/lowlights within the gold color. The gold is paired with a deep red/burgundy, thinner stripe. The fabric is in very good condition with no rips, tears or stains. It is trimmed with gold brocade. The chairs are in very good condition. They are heavy for their size. There are VERY MINOR surface scuffs which can be easily resolved. These are very minor and are not distracting. There is some expected wear to the urethane on the arm/hand rests. This has not affected the stained finish and is minor as well. The chairs are incredible both in quality and beauty. Again. Look to have been last refinished and reupholstered in the 1980’s. They are from the last residential commission completed in 1985 by famed Modern Architect William A. Bernoudy(1910-1988) Whom participated in the infamous Taliesin Fellowship, studying under Frank Lloyd Wright in the 1930’s, eventually becoming one of his protégés. Hollywood Regency Vintage Gold Vinyl Pleated Paisley Swivel Rocking Chair Estate find! Very cool Hollywood Regency style gold vinyl chair. Embossed paisley pattern. Pleated back and seat. Swivels and rocks! There are no holes or tears whatsoever in the fabric. The arms are a little dirty and it's a little dusty in the cracks. I'm not sure of the date. There are no marks. It looks like it may have been a chair that was recovered in this material as there is a greenish corduroy swatch on the underside. Measurements: 27" across at the widest point. 25" from back to front, 30" high at highest back point. Seat measures 21" x 20.5" Top of cushion is 14" from floor.
