Offered is an original embroidered Queen Anne era chair. The seat is missing as you can see from the photo. Though I don't believe the seat was embroidered and should be a relatively easy replacement for an upholsterer. The embroidery is in excellent shape and could use a simple cleaning. The wood could use a cleaning and polish as well as the chair has been in storage for quite some time. Vintage Queen Anne Channel Wing Back Chair Wood Trim Brass Tacks High Quality
This is a very nice chair made with superior craftsmanship and attention to detail. This chair is very comfortable and rock solid; it is as sturdy as it was when it was made. The fabric is a orange gold that has minimal normal wear no holes. Burns, rips, odors or repairs. The arms and seat are a little darker and could use a cleaning. There are no major stains perhaps a couple of very minor small spots. I have not attempted any cleaning on this chair and I suspect it will clean up real well. The back seems a little brighter with a little more orange. The fabric is odor free and did not have any pet hair on it when I acquired it but I do not know the history of this chair as I got it second hand. The chair has well aged brass tacks that outline all the wood work. The chair is not marked and is an older chair this appears to be reupholstered ... morein the 50's. The spring are good and all tied in perfect. There is no wiggle or looseness in this chair. Dimensions 35" tall and 17" high to the seat. 29" wide and the seat is 22" wide the chair is 25" deep. The woods are Native Maple and Ash. The shape of the nicely carved crest is indicative of that area as well as are the fully developed and bulbous turned single front stretcher and the typical rectangular side stretchers as well as the BOLD CARVED SPANISH FEET. This chair is structurally all original. The real rush seat is about 75 years old and in great condition. Included is a copy of the label that came with the chair. It reads. From Old Sturbridge Village, re-glued by R. Bruce Hamilton W. NEB, Mass 2/3/1994" There is also a museum label on the inner back post. Antique settee and matching chair Queen Anne Local pick up only
Antique settee and matching chair. I do not know much about these. They were at my grandmothers, I believe they are early 1900's but could be dated earlier I am not an expert, please view the photos and ask questions. I was told they are queen anne but I am not sure also told rare to find matching chair. The fabric on the settee is very old and worn may be original but the chair has newer fabric. Photo's include the underneath of the settee, where some of the nails have come loose did not fix this as by seeing the inside perhaps an expert can date it. LIGHTING American Queen Anne Walnut"Roundabout" Corner Chair Pennsylvania or Delaware River Valley c. 1740-60 Item# 130112LCN11 This very fine specimen of early Pennsylvania was crafted during the third quarter of the 18th Century. Almost certainly between the years of 1740-60, probably either from Philadelphia or elsewhere in the Delaware River Valley. Carved of solid walnut, it features a three-piece back rail crafted with one curved piece resting on top of the arms, affixed with large wooden pegs from beneath the rail and curling out in large bold handholds. The vasiform solid splat tenons into the arm rails, the thickness of the solid walnut visually reduced with the deep chamfering of the back edges of the scrolling profile, ... morethe entire piece dropping into the shoe on the frame; the shoe is a separate piece from the frame, as is typical in Philadelphia craftsmanship. Three turned balusters raise the arm and the rear-most corner, these turned posts expertly formed with a small canon-ball swelling at both the apex and the toe. The mostly square seat was webbed and upholstered in the 20th Century, this almost certainly containing a"potty" seat at one point, the more deep profile of the apron hiding the chamber pot contained in the chair. We have not removed the upholstery from the slip seat, but this is almost certainly replaced. Interior blocking of the seat remains untouched, the rails along the inside affixed with rose head nails and a double-blocked back corner executed in the Philadelphia manner. The apron features a stepped-form. The edges scroll cut with an ogival form, retaining a certain squareness of profile that is clearly sought after in the straight form of the three turned legs. The front leg is bold, a perfect execution of a cabriole leg, the wonderful shell carved knee tapering to ultimately terminate in a drake foot. A pretty occasional chair. Upholstered in a heavy upholstery fabric with a light, off-white background, bits of pinks and blues as well. The fabric also has a light, off-white textural layer with a fleur de lis and checkerboard pattern throughout(see photos) It has a high back, and is very comfortable. Not used very much. Comes with two occasional pillows of the same fabric. There are 2 small spots in the front, center, that you can see in one of the photos, close-up. RARE CONNECTICUT 18TH C QUEEN ANNE CHAIR BOLD DESIGN IN OLD BLACK PAINT Description: FRESH FROM AN OLD COLLECTION. A WONDERFUL EARLY 18TH CENTURY QUEEN ANNE SIDE CHAIR WITH A BOLD SPLAT AND DEEP EARLY TURNINGS. CONNECTICUT. CIRCA 1740-1760 IN AN OLDER LATE 19TH CENTURY CRACKLED BLACK PAINT. A first period. Early 18th Century QUEEN ANNE American side chair. It has a fully developed and scrolled crest and a highly developed and carved center splat. IT HAS A VERY NICE TURNED SINGLE FRONT STRETCHER AND FULL HEIGHT TO THE FEET. THIS GREAT CHAIR IS FROM THE STRATFORD. CT AREA. The shape of the nicely carved crest is indicative of that area as well as are the fully developed and bulbous turned front stretcher. This chair is structurally all original. The original rush seat is gone and when the chair was re-painted in the Victorian times they upholstered ... morethe seat in a Teal Blue Fabric. All the original underpinning is still intact and you could easily replace the seat with rush but the upholstery is in very fine shape and quite usable. Nice late 19th century black and gold highlight paint with a nice old patina. NO REPAIRS TO THE FEET THEY ARE ALL ORIGINAL. This great chair stands 38 1/2" tall. Custom Re-Upholstered Queen Anne Style Chair
I customized this traditional chair into a modern conversational piece. I am an Interior Designer and I designed this chair using Knoll fabric; ultra suede. Felt, poly and a faux leather. This chair is practically new. It was used as a show piece. The wood detailing on the back, arms and legs are in excellent condition. There is also nice chrome furniture nail heads that modernizes the traditional overall look. This chair will make any room look good or make for a great GIFT!
