Pair of Florence Knoll lounge chairs. This is the not often seen version of the more common slipper chair. I purchased them a while back with the intention of redoing them and never got around to it. The bases had been spray painted gold so I had them redone. Dimensions 34" wide 28" deep 36" high. I can ship the chairs them selves via greyhound and disassemble and box the bases. I can be a little slow to ship( a week) but I'll do it as cheaply as possible. I included a picture of what they look like when they're redone.

They are supremely soft- you just melt into them but they are also supporting at the same time. The design is just sensational- so cool and striking but they have a restrained conservative edge as well. I love this contrast and also the rustic earthiness. If you peruse the Palecek website in America you’re in for a treat- the array and quality of their inventory is inspiring but it’s the way they do business that I like best. The founders of Palecek have travelled the world developing a network of master artisans and drawing inspiration from these craftspeople and their use of quickly renewable resources. The mission statement for Palecek centres on an eco-friendly business that is also at the cutting edge of innovative design. I wish there was a business like this in Australia! WELCOME! Offered in this listing is a pair of mid century walnut or teak lounge chairs made by Selig of Denmark. These chairs have their original fabric that looks as if they were rarely sat in. You have to look hard to find any spots and they have no wear to them. Foam is still firm and springy. The chairs themselves are in great condition. There a few areas around the legs that show scratches from being moved and bumped. But it looks as though chairs were placed in a rarely used room and saw little use. Both of them have the very top cushion springs missing, and I am guessing they were removed intentionally by the previous owner for comfort to make use of the curved back rail. They were purchased from a Chicago architect who worked for Frank Lloyd Wright. We purchased them approx. 3-4 years ago- the architect was in his eighties then. And could not remember where he got them. The scale is oversize and they are impressive and make a statement. They are not'small' mid-century chairs. Canary yellow upholstery is in a fabric similar to Knoll Cato. There are no markings indicating a manufacturer or designer. They have lines that almost look Brazilian but the construction is unmistakeably American, with similarities to Adrian Pearsall but with a much more masculine presence. or Edward Wormley ... morecrossed with George Nakashima. This matched pair of Milo Baughman lounge chairs were produced by Thayer Coggin and designed around 1965. Overall the chairs are in very good condition. And in my opinion would work well as-is in most interiors. The upholstery is in good clean condition with only what appears to be slight sun fading on the side. The chrome-plated steel frames are in decent shape with wear as to be expected for these 50 year old beauties. Most visible chrome is perfect, and most areas that show wear are in places that were not polished regularly leaving slight surface damage. That being said, these areas clean up well with polish. The only areas of chrome loss are pictured and exist on one rear leg of both chairs. The pictures tell the story well. They are in very good condition, black, nicely"antiqued" with deep blue paint and comfortable, with a back that moves to 5 positions, including flat.
