This pair of armchairs is in a good. Used condition- the steel-grey blue woollen upholstery is extremely hard wearing. There are marks here and there in the finish on the tubular steel frames(please see examples in the pictures below) however, it shouldn't be a big problem to have these touched up to as new condition if you so should require. Price for this armchair new today- as far as I can tell- varies between roughly £2500 to £3500/ea. Depending on choice of upholstery and retailer. I have a second pair- the exact same same upholstery and overall general condition- should you require a set up of four for your living room. You are bidding on a very desirable pair of authentic late 18th Century Louis XV style fauteuils en cabriolet. These are almost certainly provincial rather than Parisian examples. The prior owner acquired them on 30 Dec 1983 from the antiquaire M.et Mme. Michel Moudru at 10-11 rue Bayard- 38000 Grenoble. France. Their provincial origin is indicated by the silhouette of the hand carved and decorated frame. However provincial does not mean"rustic" or"country" These are clearly the work of a menuisier's atalier who was familiar with Parisian styles- even if he was endearingly behind the latest fashions of the capital. The most notable thing worth mentioning about this pair of arm chairs is that they are structurally very sound as the result of being loved by previous generations of owners who(as can be seen in the photos) ... moredid the responsible thing at some point in the past 100 years and put support blocks in the corners of the undersides. One can actually sit on them as long as the sitter is not morbidly obese and if whoever the sitter is treats them with the respect one would treat any nice piece of seating furniture. As any perspective bidder can see from the photos, the chairs have retained the original method of 18th Century upholstery style and has not been adapted for springs which only came in during the 19th Century. The chairs have decently used discrete beige velvet upholstery for now. The chairs each measure, 36 inches high, 23 inches wide at the widest outside point on the padded arms, 19 inches wide in the inside between the arm supports, 19 inches seat height and 16 inches seat depth from the front to the back. 1960's Button-back green tub-style armchairs (pair)
Pair of 1960's velvet avocado green button-back. Barrel/tub style club chairs that swivel. Lovely, good for retro or any style decor, really. These are true vintage, not reproductions, but in very good condition for their age. Purchased in the late 1960's, they've had minimal use and will need only a little cleaning and the replacement of the inside of one seat cushion to be like new. No smoke or pet order. Please note: I am only interested in selling the pair. Not individually. Buyer responsible for arranging transport. I have also listed a couch from the same era, in even better condition. Hello! I have a pair of vintage Art Metal Construction Co. modern aluminum chairs for sale. Originally created as stationary office chairs back in 1951(per a date stamp) I used them for about 12 years as living room chairs. These are very nice, good-looking vintage chairs in really good condition, and a really nice touch is the arms with padded armrests. The metal needs to be cleaned– not refinished– but as far as the fabric goes, these absolutely need to be reupholstered. Each chair measures 22 inches wide from the outside of the chair arms. 20 inches wide seat area, 33 inches tall from floor to top of chair back, 18 inches tall from floor to top of seat, and 17 inches deep. What sets these apart from a lot of other vintage metal chairs is the substantial upholstery dimensions. This type of armchair with its unusual shaped seat is known as a‘caquetoire’ The term first appeared during the mid 16th Century and was used to describe a chair with armrests which was used to sit close by the fire to gossip or chatter(caqueter) These stately chairs are always unique and were never built in exact pairs or as a set. This can be seen with our fine examples where one has dragons to the cresting rail; the other cherubs. Aside this. They are almost identical. HIGH END PAIR OF SUEDE ANTIQUE FRENCH MID MOD REGENCY SITTING DINING ARMCHAIRS
RELISTED DUE TO NON-PAYMENT* You are bidding on an excellent antique pair of mustard yellow suede and what looks like a dark stained oak chairs. Each chair weighs 35 pounds and dimensions are 21 1/2" width x 42 1/2" height x 26" depth with a 17" seat. These are absolutely beyond beautiful. These chairs were recovered by a high end designer out of California. Not sure the exact age or when recovered but underneath the black fabric on the bottom you can see the old burlap type material. The details are unreal from top to bottom. We found these in an estate we purchased. Everything in this home was high end 7.000 square ft home filled with designer furniture out of New York and California. The designer on the bottom label is Muriel Brown Gallerie of Interior Design out of Sherman Oaks, CA. There are a few minor flaws but ... morenothing a little scratch cover can't fix and some minor flaws in the wood that were covered when these chairs were redone. The suede on on chair looks like it needs to be"shaved" a little on the back part but again very minor. Also looks like small spot on seat of chair but I do not know how to properly clean suede so I left it alone. Again all of these flaws are minor I just want buyer to be aware of any and all flaws. Will ship these chairs thru greyhound to try to cut down on costs so buyer MUST pick up at the greyhound terminal closest to you. Due to the high quality of these I will have them professionally boxed and packed prior to shipping. I do not trust just having these blanket and shrink wrapped they are too nice to have messed up.
