This set is from the 30's or 40's I believe. Great condition. Comes with extra leaf to expand and make it larger. Comes with all 6 chairs but not the small pillows in the chairs. Also comes with protective felt top. The only markings on the table are underneath. One in yellow chalk reads 323-1 on the bottom of the tabletop. And, on the other end of tabletop and on one of the legs it's stamped in black 750. However on the bottom of the chairs there is a paper cloth label that says Bernhardt Furniture Company. Lenoir, NC. This is a rather large dining table which requires a large dining room. The table is 43" wide& could either go 95" long with the two leaves in OR 59" long without the leaves. RARE signed Roycroft oak dining table & 6 chairs Exceptional original finish Vtg
Rare original set of 6 oak Roycroft chairs with the 54" diameter dining table in exceptional original finish. I obtained these many years ago from the family that originally purchased them well over a century ago and obviously they have been very well cared for. Every piece is signed with the impressed Roycroft orb& cross. The table measures 54" in diameter and stands 28-1/2" tall. The chairs each measure 41" tall. 17" wide, and 16-5/8" deep. The height to the seat is 17-3/4" It appears to me that 2 of the chairs have newer(but still very old) leather upholstery and the other 4 are the original leather. As the photos show some of them probably need reupholstered. There is one support board that attaches to the underside of the table(and can not be seen without crawling under the table and looking for ... moreit) that was replaced. Apparently when the family stored it away they separated the base from the top at the wood pinning located at the top of each of the for pedestals(which attaches the pedestals to the 4 upper support boards that form an"X" and can be seen in photo#5. For that reason I had to have those wood pins(see final photo) and the one support board replaced. Other than that the condition of this table is nearly mint. The chairs are extremely tight(no play at all) and show only normal light surface wear. This set was stored away for most of it's 100+ years which explains why it is in such great condition. Buyer is welcome to pick this up at my home in Massillon, Ohio which is one hour south of Cleveland. If you are unable to do this you can arrange for a shipper if you like and I will be happy to work with them to make it work as smoothly as possible. This set of four antique barley twist chairs are a stunning and beautiful find. They would be a wonderful addition to any dining room or breakfast area. Made from solid oak. The hand carvings on these antique dining chairs are exquisitely detailed. Each chair is detailed with a gentle curved cut out at the top of the back rest. The barley twist legs on the front of each chair are thick and really ... morebeautifully turned. Overall a very beautiful design! These dining chairs were made in England sometime around 1920. Probably commissioned for a wealthy family or estate and then passed down from there. We acquired them near Oxford. The previous owners have taken very good care of these chairs as is evident by the current very good condition. We have chosen a“good” condition rating for these chairs. They are very sturdy and strong and have no wobbles or looseness to them. The wooden“I” stretchers at the bottom ensure the chairs will stay sturdy for years to come. There are no major breaks or repairs. The upholstery is dingy and one chair has a small hole in the fabric but they can easily be changed. The chairs do exhibit minor distressing marks in the form of tiny marks throughout that we consider character expected from chairs of this age. We have cleaned the chairs and they are ready to go directly into the home and be used. What keeps the chairs from being in excellent condition is one chair has some old wood worm damage on one part of the stretcher. This has been treated and is not active. We have included a picture. Vintage Burled Oak 6 pc Dining Set, Cushioned Chairs - pick up
Here is a beautiful and solid dining set made of gorgeous burled oak. Burl is the curly decorative way the wood looks when it grows wavy instead of straight. The table is inlaid with this pretty wood in squares that blend together nicely. There is one leaf that adds 18 inches to the length of the table. Without the leaf. The table is 42 inches square. So the full length is 60 inches. The chairs are all conveniently on casters so you can move around in them easily. They are upholstered in a very pretty blue fabric known as Prussian blue. Laced with a few swirls here and there. It is very attractive. The seats and backs are amply cushioned for super comfort. The seats measure 20 x 19 x 2-1/2 inches. It is vintage to about the late 1980s. This vintage set dates to the mid-1980's and is in really good condition with perhaps a few scuffs on ... morethe legs and arms.
