There are so many different pressed designs on the pressed back chairs produced around the late 1800's and early 1900's that make it almost impossible to find odd ones that match to add to your set. Here is a set of 4 already matching that have the traditional"Rabbit Ear" design with a top stretcher. Six turned spindles create the back and fit into the second rail that is also pressed. The spindles are flat on the side that faces your back so that its nice and comfy. Seats were recanned 7 years ago but have been used since then and have wear where they need to be recanned. All have the bent wood Hip Huggers to strengthen that back joint. It's a superior design for longevity. These are antique chairs and have been used and have signs of wear and character. You will only have to recane them.

Antique Very Rare Quarter-Sawn Oak Northwind Face Hand Carved Chair.
You are looking at a very rare and exclusive antique side Chair made out Quarter-sawn oak. Featuring" Boreas" was the Greek god of the cold north winds and the bringer of the winter. Great fabric and cosmetic condition. Minimum scratches, tremendous amount of details in the back upper part of the chair. It is a kind of decorated chair of the Victoria Periods 1870s-1890s. PLEASE NOTE: The Back vertical piece is separated. It seems it was meant to be like that by the cabinet maker, you can see because of the perfect symmetry of the two pieces forming one, I have been searching a lot about this chair and this is as far as I can go since there is no other like this one. Gorgeous solid oak Morris Chair purchased by me from a woman who bought it in New York at an antique store in the 1950s. She told me the antique dealer told her they were used as barber chairs. Not sure but the chair does recline similar to a barcolounger. It has been repaired; including a new bottom(Very sturdy) and I had 2 cushions made and covered by an upholstery company, red and beige plaid with matching piping. These cushions are in new condition, and the chair is solid and in great condition. The chair seat swivels and the chair rolls around on casters. 16" wide x 19" deep x 35-1/2" high overall with a 19" seat height as you see it in the pictures. Looking underneath I can see that you can lower it down about 1-1/2" and you have about 6" total screw extending down below the spinning disk. You should be able to raise it 2 or 3 inches anyway. Seat height would then range between about 17-1/2 and maybe 22" You merely turn the disk to change the seat height. I lowered the seat to the minimum for shipment. The seat back has a black material tacked into place on the sides. I think it's old leather. But for all I know, it could be something else. Please look at the pictures and judge for yourself. Beautiful. I found a few issues which I think are not very noticable. There was a crack in the top of the upright back support timber that I had to glue(the crack extending below the slot was not glued) One nut securing that support was replaced with a more modern one at some point, there is a split in the wood surface on the back of the

Beautiful Antique Oak Child's Rocking Chair
Listed is a beautiful Antique Children's Rocking chair. This chair is made very well and it is still solid. Made out of oak. Has a cloth cushion. I am unsure of the exact age of this item. The screws used on the chair are look pretty old. Dimensions: Seat Height 14" Total Height 32" Total Length-30" Seat is 15" deep and 16" Wide. Chair Seat back height is 20-1/2" Tall. The condition is very good. There are some small dings and scratches from age and use. A couple of the seat cushion holders at the back of the chair are loose and are unable to be tightened. The cushion is very stable and tight. Cushion material is in pretty good condition for its age. This would be a very nice piece to add to a collection.

The Seat is 12" wide and the legs measure 15 1/2" wide on the front legs and 13 3/4" wide on the back legs. The chair has a solid oak plank seat. So it will hold up forever. Allow me to introduce to you this wonderful oak banker's or doctor's office chair. Made in late 1800's or early 1900's by Crocker Chair Co. of Sheboygan. Wisconsin. Oak back and seat. Cast iron swivel mechanism and four legs with casters. Super sturdy and comfortable. Back 17" wide and 18" tall. Seat is 16 1/2 wide X 19" deep. 37" overall height. Has a brass"4187" disc nailed over the Crocker Chair emblem at back of the seat. The dowels and screws are nicely hidden with oak buttons on sides of seat and on the back. Seven back rails of oak. I found this chair at a local Market. Made of OAK and in some areas"tiger" oak on the back. This is a very solid Chair. It looks to me to have some of the features of both the Edwardian and Eastlake Victorian styles. It has been stripped of the original DARK finish to reveal the beautiful Golden Oak. the upholstery is most likely not original but it is solid and matches without being gaudy the Hand carved Flowers in the head area are wonderful as well as the half circle carvings across the top. the sides facing the front are carved with what looks like scales or stylized leaves or a vine. I am assuming it originally had coasters or wheels but they have been replaced with metal buttons. I am listing this wonderful chair as local pickup only. Vintage Victorian Carved Oak Upholstered Settee and Matching Chair
This is an old vintage Victorian settee and matching chair. The upholstered fabric is in good condition with no rips. Tears or fading. Some of the pictures make the fabric look yellow-this is just shadows(I guess) from the camera. The fabric is a floral with cream background. There is carving on the oak wood between the two back upholstered sections(see picture) The chair and the settee backs both measure approximately 37 inches high from the floor. The settee measures approximately 49 inches in length and the chair measures approximately 24 inches wide. Both are sturdy. On the back, of the settee, the lower board has a couple of cracks that run with the grain. see pictures) This has not be a problem. Antique Walker Browne Oak Portable Folding Dentist Chair 1882 Barber Koken
The Skeleton Key is very proud to offer for sale an original 1882 Walker Browne Portable Dentist Chair made by the Walker Browne Dental Company. This chair was made for the traveling dentist and was carried from town to town in a horse and carriage. Chair is in exceptional condition with minor nicks and scratches here and there. There is one repair that I can see on the left where the recline bar adjustment attaches to the back rest. A dowel was placed in the screw hole for reinforcement. It has no breaks or cracks. All original hand forged iron bolts. Nuts and hardware. Not sure if leather seat is a replacement and if so how long ago it was done. Has wrinkles from use so, not really sure. Velvet on head rest is in pristine condition with some light wear on the lower right and left area. They have two similar examples in their collection, but not the Walker Browne. The first technologically driven barber chair was patented by Koken in 1878, this chair has a patent date of 1882 so it is a very early example of very innovative designs and engineering including 7 different levels of height adjustment, three angles of reclining, adjustable head and foot rest, and of course the ability to fold up. Antique oak rocking chair in very good condition. Owner said was made late 1890s-1910 era. Pictures show DESIGN of the carved back. The open arms with three(3) spindles tapered top to bottom, back having seven(7) spindles, rounded roll of seat front. Overall shows little wear except back end of rocker tips have some scruffing. MEASURES: 38.5-inches high, 32-inch rockers front-back, rocker width tapers from 22.5-inches in front to 19.5-inches at the back ends. Purchased at a yard sale"because I liked it" but rockers are too long to fit comfortably in our small space for it. The original owner brought it to Arizona from the northeastern United States.
