There are no manufacturer marks but they do look like the Kagan originals. They do swivel. Color is a deep mix between a pink and mauve. They definitely pop. They are very well made and very comfortable- no manufacturer tags. No tears or rips or wear- just a few marks that I show in the pics- nothing that stands out. There is the slightest soiling to a few spots on the upper arm rest areas- and the rear upper edge of one chair- please study the pics and zoom in. Nothing that looks bad in my opinion though. They are really nice but not ultra-perfect. 35 inches in diameter x 18 high at seat x 29 high at rear. seat opening is 22.5 at front. The original upholstery is in good vintage condition. Showing normal wear with some dirt/stain marks and some rubbing on the corners. The outer seam on the back left side has come undone with the inner seam molding strong. This is a very nice mid century modern Recliner made by Thayer Coggin and Designed by Milo Baughman. The chair is missing its tag but I did email Thayer and they did confirm this chair from there vintage catalogs. They did send a pic of the catalog scan(pic 12) The chair is in great shape with no major damage. There is some rubbing to the vinyl on the back top of the chair where it sat agains a wall most likely(see pics) the wood frame is solid and shows minimal signs of its age. I believe the frame to be teak. other than the rub damage on the back top there is no major damage to the leatherette/vinyl. This chair is around 50 60 years old and shows minimal signs of its age. This auction is for a single chair and the ottoman shown in the CENTER of the pictures. These sell for a lot at retail. But here is a very reasonable starting price. The 2 other chairs shown on either side have been sold and are NOT included! These is a nice Thayer Coggin chair and ottoman designed by Milo Baughman from the 1950s made in High Point NC. My parents were original buyers and I have had them for 20+ years. Non-smokers, no pets. Please see photos attached. This type of seat support is distinctly Thayer Coggin, just Google a bit to see other examples. Not sure of exact name of this model but it is among the less common. Only the ottoman cushion has very slight wear on one corner. Wood has normal scratches and bumps but nothing bad. The cushion support for the ottoman has had minor repair but is fine. The cushion support on the chair ... moreis perfect. I believe the wood is Walnut. The arms are unusually curvy. Spindles and arms are solid. No cracks or looseness. This vintage chair is in very good condition for it's age. Believe it to be a 70's piece. Tag underneath is Edward Axle Roffman. It is a powder blueish/grayish velvet with no tears or rips but it does have some discoloration on the ends of the arms and light discoloration on the right side near the bottom. The back rest cushion has no stains but does have some wearing. Please see images. The wearing is on both sides of the cushion. The chair sits on a square base and the caps do need to be replaced as seen in images. IL- Far west Chicago suburbs) UP FOR AUCTION: A vintage upholstered tub chair in the style of Milo Baughman. While perhaps the color of the upholstery- I can best describe it as a funky. Mod drab olive green- is maybe a little hard on the eyes, the chair otherwise, I think, has the most fantastic bones. Wonderfully understated, stylish, I could see this chair working with tastes from art deco to shabby chic. It's a largish-sized chair- and is superbly comfortable. It looks to have hardwood framing and hand-tied springs. It's a tank- it weighs just a bit under 70 pounds. I can't find any markings to indicate maker or age. The quilt shown in one of the photos isn't included in ... morethe auction- it's just to give you an idea how the chair would look with some kind of cover thrown over it. CONDITION: It's solid and sturdy-it's a tank. I'd planned to get it reupholstered or get a slipcover made for it. But didn't get to it, and realize I won't have room for it(I love this chair! I think the material/padding under the upholstery fabric seems to be in great shape(the cushion seems in great shape) and the design seems to me to suggest most of the reupholstery would involve using flexible tack strips. So maybe not so labor-intensive, so maybe not too expensive a job) Flaws: 1) The upholstery fabric has wear in areas. Especially at the arms, where you'd expect it. Some loss of pile/fabric and/or lightening. And it looks like some overall soiling at the top back center, again where you'd probably expect it. I went over this- cleaned it to the best of my ability with a home carpet/upholstery cleaner when I first bought it- then threw a quilt over it.
