Luxuriously comfortable( they ... moredon't call these lounge chairs for nothing) seats, gorgeous hand carved hardwood frames, double paneled sides in woven cane, and down, sculpted seat cushions. The beauties are paint decorated with a washed finish( all original) and which is lovely, even with the chippy paint in places for a more shabby& chic look. Frames could be used as found or easily touched up in the places where paint has worn and flaked off, though I like them as they are. They do however need new fabric as the silk has split in areas, but don't let a little upholstery job deter you from buying these fabuous chairs: Really fabulous, high end and expensive fabric in large yardages- enough for a project like this one- can be purchased on eBay for pennies on the showroom dollar, and believe me the labor cost for this upholstery job would be nothing compared to what you would have to spend to buy a pair of Bergeres like this new from a showroom. In refurbished condition these would cost between $5000 and $10,000, depending on the finsih and the fabric, so these are a bargain to some lucky buyer who has a little vision and a good upholsterer!
