Hitchcock Tilt Table
Vintage Hitchcock Tilt table. Circa 1948-1952. Has condition issues. The split you see in the photo does go all the way through. There is wear on the varnish as well. Only on one part of the stenciling. The feet have a few dings as well. I didn't polish this piece, but I did give it a wipe down with warm sudsy water. I read that it is not good to polish these older pieces. It's a very pretty piece and would look great in any home! Aprox. Measurements: Tilt up: 34" Tilt Down: 20 1/4. Top: 23 1/4" long/ 19" wide. Vintage Hitchcock Chest of Drawer Dresser- brown with gold harvest stencil
Classic Hitchcock dresser/chest of drawers with harvest stencil and original Hitchcock drawer paper. The chest dates from the early 1950's according to my mother before she passed and is in very good used condition. Please note. I am not a dealer or a furniture expert. The set was purchased for an occasional cottage and then had little use in an extra bedroom until my grandfathers death at 98. Vintage L Hitchcock Pedestal Low End Occasional Table Harvest Black
For local pickup only in Falls Church. VA! A vintage authentic L. Hitchcock low end/occasional table. I think it was made between 1948 and 1952. It's been well cared for. However, the top split at some point and was repaired. Still very usable as is. There are some tiny nicks on the black paint, mostly on the corners, edges, and feet, but they're not very noticeable. There's some light crazing on a small area of the top, but it isn't too bad. The finish is still very nice. Underneath, the tabletop is stenciled, L. Hitchcock. Hitchcocksville. Conn. Warranted. Antique Hitchcock Chair w/Burled Veneer and Cane Seat
This is for a beautiful antique Hitchcock style chair with burled veneer and cane seat that I am offering for my neighbor. There is some old wear to the veneer on the back splat as shown in one of the pics and also an old characterized repair that the neighbor never noticed until I pointed it out to her. But is otherwise just fine and very sturdy. Chair measures 18 inches to the top of the seat and I will have to add other measurements later. Really a pretty old chair that would be ideal for your desk. Vanity, as one of a mix and match set for dining, etc. I have set up a flat rate shipment fee of $25 under UPS Ground because ebay doesnt give Greyhound as an option. MISSOURI 1890, Saint Louis Ore & Steel Co Stock Certificate Signed EA Hitchcock
The certificate is dated January 7. 1 890. The company was incorporated in Missouri in 1882. The certificate was signed by Ethan Allen Hitchcock as President. Hitchcock was Secretary of the Interior under President McKinley. Beginning in 1898. Prior to that he established the first successful American plate glass manufactory. He also had extensive interests in iron and steel. While he was Secretary of the Interior he exposed massive fraud in the administration of the natural resources on public lands. Prior to 1884. Jay Gould and Commodore Garrison were large stockholders in the company. The company produced steel rails for Gould's Wabash system. In 1884 Hitchcock was appointed Receiver and likely became President thereafter. This company was created in 1882 to consolidate Vulcan Steel Company. This is an unusual c1890 ENGLISH MINERAL WATER Bottle with strong embossing. On the front is HITCHCOCK& CO. CHYMISTS, OXFORD. The bottle makers name is on the base which is, KILNER BROS LTD. MAKERS, LONDON. The word CHYMISTS is a very old way of spelling CHEMIST and is no longer used. It measures 7-3/4" tall and has an APPLIED TOP. Originally each chair was $250 purchase cost.purchased for our summer home in the Chesapeake Bay.but now we are selling the home. I will put that on eBay too! They are vibrant and quite pretty. The color is mustard on one and a yellow on the other two. They have handpainted gilt type stencil on some areas. They are in need of some tlc. But not tons.and someone who appreciates them. They belonged to the homestead and were not part of some antique shop or other area. They were used by the same family. The Orient area of Long Island(where these were found) is close ... moreto Conneticut to its north. I believe these were made in Conneticut and brought over by boat years ago. The family had family members in Conneticut. Here are the measurements: one chair.34 1/2" to the top of the back from floor. 17" across at the widest point on the seat, 14 1/2" deep on the seat and 19" from floor to seat next chair. 33" high to top of chair back from floor. 16 3/4" wide seat, 15 3/4" deep and 19" from floor to seat last chair.34 1/2" to the top of the back from floor like the first chair. 18" across the back at widest point, 18 1/4" wide at the widest part of the seat and 15 1/2" deep. PIERRE FRESNAY - French Actor/Hitchcock Films - Autograph & Address!
This is a slip of paper from a notepad with the autograph and hotel of deceased PIERRE FRESNAY. Fresnay(1897-1975) was a French stage and film actor who is best known for his role as Marcel Pagnol in'Marius' He played the role in 500+ performances on stage and in the 1931 film adaptation of the play by the same name. He played the role again in the next two parts of Marcel Pagnol's Marseilles Trilogy'Fanny' 1932) and'Cesar' 1936) Fresnay appeared in more than 60 films. His best known film may be Alfred Hitchcock's first version of'The Man Who Knew Too Much' The slip of paper is approximately 4 1/4" by 5 1/4" It is from a note pad from the Waldorf-Astoria in New York. The name of the hotel is printed at the top. Fresnay has signed his name with a pen and added"Hotel George V Avenue George ... moreV Paris" He underlined"Paris" This item is in excellent condition. There are wrinkles and folds along the edges and one horizontal fold from the center. There are minor mounting traces in two areas on the back without affecting the overall nature of the piece. Beautiful Hitchcock chocolate harvest stool or table measuring 14.5" round. By 17.5" tall. Made of solid maple with a bright crisp stencil on the seat. Some paint chipping on the legs, as seen in the pics. Small scratches on various legs and seat, but to be expected with a piece of this age. Alfred Hitchcock signed typed personal letter. Dated March 20, 1975, on Alfred J. Hitchcock Productions, Inc. letterhead, on a thin onionskin typing paper, to my wife's aunt, apparently answering a letter she had sent questioning some of the locations used to shoot scenes in"The Thirty Nine Steps" In the letter, he explains that most of the scenes were done in the studio with special effects, with the exception of one scene that was shot on location in Scotland with a double standing in for Robert Donat. He closes the letter with a very apropos line: You see, the camera lies. We found this tucked in among the pages of one of the books my wife's aunt had.
