This fiberglass shell, blue naugahyde wrapped chair is in fantastic condition. There is a pinhole in the seat(pictured) but little else that does not establish this chair as one of the very best on eBay. The navy blue naugahyde is handsome and the stitching is tight. This is not the teal blue that you are seeing in many of the other listings. The underside grommets and other hardware are in excellent condition as well. There is some minor discoloration in the black fiberglass shell but who cares as you can't see it while you are seated. Black legs have some minor scuffing to the paint. A couple of minor scuffs in the black trim that supports the leather seat. There are two plastic washer ... morefeet on the back legs and none of the front. The blue padded seat is in good condition does have a few marks on it that I believe will come right off but we did not try and clean it before picturing the chair. The bases shaft has some oxidation to it and the seat does not adjust in height like it once did. This is your opportunity to purchase a set of 5 of the ORIGINAL Herman Miller Elephant Grey chairs. This color was one of the original 6 colors that Herman Miller produced. These chairs are dated January 1961. Four of the five are dark grey overall. The fifth chair is slightly lighter in the area that you sit(this can be seen in the last photo) These chairs are all marked with the Herman Miller logo and are free of holes and chips. Two of them have very small cracks on the inside corner which is shown in two of the photo's. They all have very good original shock mounts that will not need to be replaced. Vtg 1970's Teak Retro Etagere Bookcase Mid-Century Modern Eames Herman Miller
This is a sensational circa 1970's etagere shelf rack unit. It is made of teak cross-members that clamp with set screws onto orange coated steel tubes which are very sturdy and support glass shelves. Very minimalist design. I do not know the exact age but I do know they are older and it has an Allied moving sticker with a patent date of 1965 and 1970 so I am leaving the sticker attached for reference and date approximation. It measures 85" tall 25.5" wide and 17 5/8" deep. It is in excellent overall condition with minimal wear. The glass shelves are removable and can adjust by moving the teak bars up and down along the tubes. The glass is also in excellent condition but there is a large scratch across one that fortunately is not very noticeable. These come completely apart and will be shipped in two boxes. HISTORY: Up for auction is a vintage original Eames Herman Miller dining height chair(DAX) with molded fiberglass rope edge shell in Lemon Yellow color. The shell retains very rare Herman Miller label commonly referred as" half label" The shell rests on an early black x-rod base with Dome of Silence glides. The chair was designed by Charles Eames and manufactured by the Herman Miller Furniture Company and Summit Polymers Injection Molded Thermoplastics. Inc. in the late 1960's. The chair is known for it's comfort and durability. The shell is produced from fiberglass-reinforced plastic. Originally, the fiberglass was being used during the war by Zenith Plastics to reinforce plastic on airplane radar domes. In according to the Eames fiberglass standard shell colors catalogue, this color was specified as LY(Lemon Yellow) This ... moreshell has large shock mounts. This very 50's color is one of the most popular and desirable colors of the Eames fiberglass shells. CONDITION REPORT: This chair is in very good condition for its age. The shell clean. Shows LOTS of FIBER and still retains it's original gleaming luster. The color is still bright with no fading. The color in all close photos is the closest to the original color of the shell. Looks very good! The original gel coating is intact! The early large shock mounts are in good original condition, shows some straight base marks and have NOT been re-glued. The front shock mounts shows some slight"bleeding" which is very common issue for all early translucent shells of that period. The raised Herman Miller logo is on the bottom of each chair. As well as a couple of labels. One shell is in very good condition, the second one does have a crack at the bend of the chair- because the chair has fabric I cannot tell if the crack is all the way through. The foam is still soft and the fabric could use a good cleaning. One chair has a small hole in the fabric and a couple of white spots, the other chair has two small holes in different locations of the chair, there are pictures of all the the holes. Herman Miller Eames Aluminum Group Chair Adjustable Swivel BASE. Mid Century Modern Parts This auction is for a genuine Herman Miller Eames fiberglass shell chair swivel base(no top) in the black and aluminum. With Eames casters. It has the narrow mount setup originally used in the 1950's and 1960's. This base was originally designed by Charles Eames and produced by Herman Miller in the early-1960s. This is one of the harder-to-find bases that would go well in a variety of interior settings. Auction is for one base. This base is in good but will need polishing"IF DESIRED" Most buyers and collectors prefer to have it in the original patina. It swivels perfectly. There are some paint chips/scratches from use on the black center post. The cast aluminum extensions has dullness. For your consideration is one(1) a rare vintage original EAMES Zenith fiberglass armchair. Gorgeous. Relatively rare golden hue color. I believe the color is a faded or light ochre. As it's darker than the classic parchment and has a golden/butterscotch/yellowish tint(please see comparison photos featuring this ochre chair alongside another Zenith chair I have in parchment, so you can see the differences in color) In any case, I'll leave it to the buyer make their own determination regarding official color. In any case, it's a lovely shade. Early production chair(early 1950s) featuring the large hockey puck size shock mounts and translucent shell that immediately followed the 1st year rope edge Zenith chairs while still retaining the large mounts. Heavier than the later fiberglass arm chairs with thicker edges. Mounted on original ... moreblack X-base sans glides. This chair is in great vintage condition and exhibits standard age-appropriate wear. Notably some surface dirt, superficial scratches, and edge wear. The X-base has typical rust and oxidation characteristic of a base that's about 60 years old. There are no cracks or integral damage to the armshell. A great chair overall.
