These chairs were found in the attic of a home in Detroit. Michigan. The chairs were made by The Chair Company in Ronda, North Carolina. The chairs have a sleek Danish Modern design and are very sturdy. The wood to each of the chairs is in fabulous condition for their age with no major scratches or gouges to the wood. The issues are as follows: 1. One of the chairs is a little darker than the other. 2. Two of the metal springs are missing and will need to be replaced. Also. One of the two vinyl spring covers that protect the cushion from the metal springs is missing. 3. There are a couple imperfections in the vinyl seat that could be from a cigarette burn or some other means. The mark is not burned through the vinyl. But it is visible. This auction is for one pair of vintage Frederick Weinberg style iron and rattan sling chairs. I bought this a while back at a local estate sale. They swore these chairs were purchased in the 1950's by the owners of the estate and that they were real Frederick Weinberg pieces. After doing some research. I can not verify if what they said is true, so I am selling this pair as Frederick Weinberg style chairs. Whoever the maker is, these chairs are old and super cool. Cosmetically, the chairs show wear indicative of their age. This is a sweet little"slipper" chair. It is unmarked but dated May 1951 on the bottom. It is covered in red vinyl and does have a few tears in it(please see photos) It is appx. 31 inches tall. HEIGHT: 41" WIDTH: 28" DEPTH: 21" BASE: Approximately 27" x 27" x12" MORE ON THE CONDITION: The chair itself has the original Rare green leather upholstery which is in good condition overall. There are a few small closed on the front and back ... moreof the back rest and a couple of exposed tears around the corners on the back of the chair. Some light rubbing exist at the edges along with some minor discoration. There is a larger 7" tear on the rear of the seat base in the leather. There is also light indentation along the back of the chair. The seat cushion is original but looks to have been reupholstered at some point and the green leather is different from the chair itself. There is a velcro strip on the cushion base and some discoloration probably from velcro adhesive. The base is in excellent condition. The casters all rotate. And the height adjustment and recline all work correctly. The Teak wood is in excellent condition exhibiting only minor wear most significantly having a couple of small indentations on the arm rests. Please remember this is a vintage item and may show some wear from years of previous use. Creating expected patina, finish tone variation/wear, minor nicks or stains. The original upholstery fabric was orange, which later covered by the green. The prior owner began removing the old upholstery but never got around to having the chair re-done. Used set of four Mid Century chair/stool legs. They look like they are made of mahogany or birch and are stained or finished in a low gloss oil finish. The legs are 7 1/4" tall. The legs have a threaded stud on one end and a steel chair glide on the other. the four legs are in good used condition and are ready to be installed on a nice Mid Century Danish chair. Danish Mid Century Modern Chair imported from Denmark made by Selig
This was a piece purchased from my Oma(Grandmother) She was very particular with her items. Especially with the designers. This item does not have a tag still on it, but it is Selig. This is a Fantastic Danish modern seat lounge chair is imported from Denmark and finished by Selig. This piece is in good vintage condition with mild wear due to age. The walnut frame is very good vintage condition with some minor nicks, dings, and scatches, nothing some TLC can fix. The upholstry has some wear, but can be cleaned. There is also only one couchin, that can be easily replaced with new material. The foam does need replacing. This chair is made for a large person or just nice and roomy for an agerage sized person. The chair breaks down into 6 pieces for easy quick shipping. Measurement approximatly: About 3 feet high, 22 inches wide at the top, The ... morewidest part is 27 1/2 from arm to arm, From front to back it measures 28 inches, Please keep in mind that these items are vintage and some may show wear.
