This extremely rare and beautiful piece was generously passed down from its original owner. Purchased in the early 1960's, it has been lovingly enjoyed and taken care of ever since. The sculpted teak frame has since been delicately cleaned and polished. The 100% wool upholstery has been professionally cleaned and is a vibrant peacock blue. The foam is firm and very comfortable, complete with built in lumbar support. Please notice the padded head rest with removable cover sits securely and hangs freely, using a counterweighted bag located at the back of the chair. This classic"floating" seat is further complimented by a lighter blonde wood along the surface of the rockers, completing the overall clean and ... moreorganic design of the chair. Condition This incredible chair is in excellent vintage condition. Complete with the original Westnofa tag, located on the bottom of the seat. Please notice that the wool is slightly faded on the seat surface. Also, the patina on one armrest is slightly lighter than that of the other arm rest. Used. Not mint. Tell City quit manufacturing in 2011. Chair is used. Chair shows wearing/lightening of stain on arm rests- see pictures. Chair shows dents. Scratches, dings, chips, etc. as you can imagine. I believe the chair is from around the 1950-1960's era. I believe it is made of maple. The cushions are original. The cushions are stained, dirty, etc. I tried beating the dust out, but it did not go well. The finish is original, maple, hence the wearing of the stain. The webbing is new. Tell City still sells the webbing. I replaced the webbing to their specifications. When you sit in it there is a dip/give. I put a man who weighs 195 pounds in the chair to see that the webbing held up and how it worked. The bottom of legs do not have any protection for a floor on them. All tufting looks good and buttons are firmly attached. Chrome pedestal base is in very good condition, firmly attached, and only has minor pitting due to its age, but nothing major. Marked with its original tag. Farstrup, Made in Denmark. Measures 34" tall. 33" deep, and 26" wide at its widest point. Seat cushion is 21" deep. Pedestal base will be unscrewed for ease of shipment. For sale is a pair of Viko by Baumritter lounge chairs. Dark brown fabric with oak armrests and steel frame. No holes or tears to the fabric on either chair. But one chair looks like it has been used a little more often. If you look at the last picture the seat cushion has a light fading to the fabric probably by the sun. Set of 4 Chair / Couch Mid Century Danish Modern Walnut and Brass
These legs are short. The came off of a revolving stuffed armchair. The armchair was on a swivel base. And the swivel base had 4 feet. The legs are in pretty weathered condition. It's no surprise that these look the way they do. And yet they survive because they are walnut. And they are a mid century. One of the bases has a ding in the brass, so I took a picture of it. Its the last picture. All have screw tops. All have brass wraparounds, and all have a base on the bottom that tilt in any direction. Soren J Ladefoged chair& ottoman This is a wonderfully designed teak arm chair and ottoman by Soren J Ladefoged for SL Mobler. The frame is solid teak and features the iconic tapered legs and sculptural carved paddle arms. The chair has two positions. Upright and reclined, easily adjustable with a hook system. The ottoman is sloped for a more comfortable leg position. A removable head rest is held in place with a weighted"tail" that hangs over the back of the chair. The wood is in very good condition. With age appropriate wear on the arms(see pictures) and a few modest surface blemishes here and there. The burgundy upholstery is in very good condition; there is a relatively minor spot on the ottoman that seems to be stained, though I made no attempt to clean it. Up for Auction is a Wonderful Pair of Vintage 1980's JL Moller Danish Modern Teak Barstools Made in Denmark. These stools were a one owner and purchased in the 80's and retain their original oatmeal colored Scandinavian upholstery. They each measure 21-1/2 inches wide by 25 inches tall and 16-1/2 inches deep. They are in Very Good original condition. Sturdy. Solid, clean upholstery with no stains or holes, and show only faint scratches and scuffs as you would expect from normal use. One of the chairs is missing two of the tiny wooden pegs that cover the screws as you can see in the photos but it does not detract from the stool at all. But reminiscent of the designs made famous by MILO BAUGHMAN for Thayer Coggin. Exceptionally well-made. Extremely sturdy, and of the highest quality. Unmarked, as best I can tell, but certainly worthy of further research. Chairs are very heavy. Chrome frame tubing is 1" in diameter. And each chair measures: chairs are 25.5" tall(to top of back cushion) chrome frame is 25.5" wide. Upholstered arm pads are 28" wide* chairs are 32" deep* seat height is 16.5" from floor. At front of chair These are very nice examples. But for the sake of being extremely accurate, please remember that this set is gently used, and does show some very minimal signs of use. Chrome cube frames are very nice. But do have some scuffs and scrapes, as expected. They could benefit from a light buffing with fine steel wool, but I will leave that to the new owner. Blue upholstery does have some soiling and staining. And could benefit from a good shampooing. The two upholstered cushions are removeable and zippered, for cleaning or recovering. VINTAGE ERCOL BUTTERFLY CHAIR RETRO DANISH STYLE MIDCENTURY#902b Description. Lovely vintage Ercol Butterfly chair made of elm veneered ply with a bent elm frame and slender turned legs. In good vintage condition; some signs of wear and tear. Commensurate with age, but nothing which detracts. A design classic. Some background: The clean. Simple lines of postwar British design are still as fashionable today as they were 50 years ago. The chair's designer. Lucian Randolph Ercolani, arrived in London from his native Florence in 1894. His great grandfather was an evangelical preacher who had upset the Catholic rulers of his home city and the Salvation Army arranged to smuggle the family to England. Ercolani went to Shoreditch College of Furniture and set up his own furniture factory. Ercol, in 1920. The Butterfly chair was launched in 1956 ... moreand although not the bestselling Ercol line(that is the more traditional Windsor) it is certainly the most iconic. Its clean lines and spare design are almost Scandinavian in simplicity, rather than the more flamboyant Italian style. Ercolani had also perfected the technique of steam-bending wood into curves as well as drying elm with steam so that it wouldn't warp. These methods allowed him to produce both the classic Windsor and the curvy Butterfly. Edward Tadros. Ercolani's grandson, says: It was a revolutionary design at the time. It had the classic Windsor base but the seat was in bent ply and that curve was new. It's very comfortable, too, which is why it has endured. Lucian was always fiddling with the designs and the boardroom is full of prototypes that didn't quite work or didn't last very long. Despite its status as a modern design classic. Low back black leather Falcon chair designed by Sigurd Resell and made by Vatne Mobler of Norway in the 1970s. With rosewood base which is an X shape. In very good vintage condition. The leather is in very good condition for its age with no rips or tears; there is some age-related wear but nothing really noticeable. There is a leather strap missing on one side at the top and a small rip in the hammock by the top righthand hook but both of these do not affect the chair in any way. The base has a few scuffs. Again, commensurate with its age. The hammock style floating seat has become a design classic and is supremely comfortable.
