These rarely come up for sale and the last one on ebay was about 4 months ago and ended with a"reserve not met" at $1221. There are a few currently listed in the $2000-4000 range elsewhere. Unfortunately. Our new house doesn't have the space for it! This one is in very good vintage condition and has been reupholstered at some point in the past. The upholstery is in perfect condition with no tears/pulls/stains/smells and I'm pretty sure it's an expensive WOOL fabric. It features a geometric pattern in blue and yellow(the color mix makes it look greenish from a bit further back) The foam is still very soft which leads me to believe it was replaced when the chair was reupholstered. There are a few minor scuffs on the walnut base but they're barely noticeable. I don't think they're worth sanding/re-polying. The back measures 31 inches high from the ground. Seat width is 24 inches(28 inches outside of arms total) The depth of the chair is ~33 inches. While the rocker base measures 32 inches deep. The height to the top of the armrests measure 24 inches. Local pickup is preferred. But I can work with your shipping company of choice to get this to you. I know a lot of people use TSC Moving to ship furniture safely( Because of the value. This is the iconic Russel Wright"S" chair produced in the 1950s by Conant Ball. Stylistically reminiscent of the better Danish Modern designs of the era. All original. Up for auction is a rare 1950s safari chair. It is not marked but is thought to be by Kaare Klint. From research of similar items. It is thought that these chairs were first produced in 1933, with this chair made in the early 1950s. The chair originally came from an estate in Central Texas from a retired military officer that was stationed in the middle east during the 1950s. This chair was used by him in his overseas military career according the family members. The chair has a tan leather seat and back. But is missing the buttoned cushion that were matched to these chairs. It also has the leather straps, attached to the wood with brass detailing. However, the leather straps are showing age and have broken. The straps under the front and rear struts, as well as the leather behind the seat back have either broken or been replaced. All of ... morethe seat and back leather is original, but could use conditioning. This chair is in good condition for its age. But does have flaws. The wood, which is thought to be ash, is in good condition with no breaks. The chair can be dismantled easily and rolled into the leather for convenient transport. In good condition showing only mild age and wear from normal use, Has a crack at the back spade barrel of the armrest.And the bottom of the lower back frame and just under that is an old repair. For sale we have a wonderful vintage mid century modern rocker/rocking chair with original gold cushions that are in excellent condition. We purchased this a little while back from a woman who said it was her mother's and she was the original owner. She said the chair was made in Sweden but couldn't remember the designers name. She said he was a very famous designer. We've tried to figure it out but haven't been able to because of the chair straps. We cannot seem to spot another mid century rocker with the same straps and believe me these are original. Do us a favor please. Vintage MID CENTURY DANISH Modern DUX Selig LOUNGE CHAIR Eames 1960s
Up for auction is a vintage Danish modern Selig chair. It is in good used condition. It is very sturdy and has new straps(seen in photo#6& 7) It could use a new cushion. It comes from a smoke free home and has no foul odors. But does have some staining/spots and a small hole on the bottom(seen in photo#11) It still has its original upholstery, which is an off white woven fabric, and its original rattan type back. I took close ups of the 2 sides where you can see some glue residue(photo#4& 5) The frame has some scratches and nicks which I have taken photos of. Nothing major, but worth mentioning. Description& History: This mid-Century danish chair came from an e state auction. Attorneys u sed chairs for seating for conference table. T he chair has very nice brown cushions. And metal casters on the two front legs. Even though the chair is in near perfect condition except for a few nicks and scratches you could recover them to fit your needs. The chair takes up a 26" x 24" footprint with a 12" seat height. Currently the chair is covered in a heavy vinyl or Naugahyde. The original Pirelli straps are intact but dried hard. This is how we know they are period pieces. The foam in the chair however is soft and reusable.
