This really cool black and chrome chair is fabulous. It is a one owner chair and was used in an office. The leather is in great condition and I don't find any broken seams. Rips or tears. The chrome shows well, but could use a good polish. This is a beautiful Mid Century Sofa and Chair in a soft turquoise blue. Built in the 1950's by Rowe Manufacturing Co. The set is extremely sound and sturdy with no wobbling. Rowe Manufacturing was(and still is) an upscale furniture manufacturer. The frame is constructed of solid wood and the springs are all in tack with no sagging. This set has been in one home with one owner since it was made in the 1950's. That home was a non-smoking and no-pet home. The fabric appears to be a very thick, heavy nylon blend. Up for auction is a vintage Danish Modern bench and it is marked with a Danish modern control tag. It is constructed of solid teak with a hand crafted rattan seat in a herringbone pattern. We did no refinishing at all this piece is in original excellent vintage condition- no damage. Cracks or chips to the teak wood. The rattan is tight and there are no breaks or repairs at all. The teak and rattan have a great vintage patina. This piece is SUPER CLEAN and has not seen much use. Overall a great and versatile piece. This is the first edition of the chair from the 1950s. Issued shortly after the original version(with plastic legs! was delivered to the Danish company Novo Nordisk, that commissioned the original design. This is the same version and model that you will find in many a design museum. Being with the steel tripod legs and brown pine plywood shell. Signed with FH Danmark(spelled the Danish way of course) on the metal base. Measurements: Height of the seat: 16.9 inches/43 cm Height of the back: 29.5 inches/75 cm Width of the seat: 15.7 inches/40 cm Condition: The chair is over 50 years old and has been used with great pleasure. This one retains the original brown nubby wool fabric. The fabric is in good original condition with only minor visible wear and pilling. The wood frame has typical marks and scuffs. Please note the two deep wear marks on the rear lateral structural element. These are typical of this model and come from years of reclining. The reclining mechanism works well. But could use some adjustment. There are a few replaced screws, but everything is present and functional, though the foot piece doesnt want to stay up within the chair seat when it isnt reclined.
